Klyde checked his person over one last time to make sure he had everything. For the first time it seemed he and Riyo would be going out on their own. No Mitsu, no Desmond, just the two of them. Going over his mental checklist he tried to think if he had forgotten anything. Dinner Reservations: check, Hotel Reservations: Double check.
"So what do you have planned?" Klyde asked Desmond as he went about his final prep of lightly gelling his hair. It didn't have the same helmet shell effect and would often still frizz a little but whatever.

Quietly Mitsu sat in her dorm reading a book. She was having a little trouble focusing on her homework so she decided to take a break. The book she had looked to be focused on pirates, or at least that's what the cover would lead one to think.

Desmond seemed to be lounging around on his bed, reading a book as if he didn't have a care in the world. "Mm?" He looked up from his book, hiding his smirk behind the pages. "I thought I'd just enjoy having the room to myself for the night." What that entailed could be a number of things, but he didn't expand on it.
"Well, look at little Klyde, all gussied up and ready for the ball." He joked and rolled his eyes. Honestly, all this fuss over some brooding blonde chick.
He already knew the answer, but Desmond just had to ask. "So... Just how much of your plans does she actually know about?"

Riyo grumbled as she stared into her closet with nothing but her (matching red and black cat) underwear on. Mitsu had seen her naked before, so there was really no point hiding it in front of the girl. "Why the ******** am I being so stupid?" She asked herself, eyes narrowing at her wardrobe. She pulled a few things out to look them over. "I don't care about what I wear. I NEVER care about what I wear. So what is this bullshit?" Tossing the apparently dissatisfying options back, she marched back over to her bed and sat down, head propped up on her hands. "... What are you reading?" Riyo's eyes had moved to the book in Mitsu's hands, hoping to get her mind off her stupidity.

"Enjoy the room to yourself?" Klyde smirked, his mind obviously going straight to the gutter. To Desmond's next comment Klyde only turned to him still messing with his hair. "Do you think this looks alright?" This whole thing was obviously going to his head, he wasn't thinking straight anymore.
"She knows....up to dinner," Klyde commented to Desmond's last question a mischievous smile on his face. "I figure the rest can be a surprise." A good or bad surprise had yet to be determined.

Mitsu only glanced up momentarily to see what Riyo was doing before she went back to her book. "It's called Vampirates. There are these twins that lose their father in the beginning. They lived in a light house but were going to be sent to live with some horrible relatives. Instead they run away and get separated in a storm. The girl winds up on the vampirates ship while the boy ends up on a regular navy vessel......It's odd." She really hadn't gotten to anything super interesting yet and she was already six chapters in. Hard to turn back now though.
"D..did you need help picking something out to wear?" Mitsu didn't have all that great of a style but it seemed that Riyo was having issues. "What all are you doing? Maybe that will help you pick out something to wear?

Desmond figured as much. Honestly, when would Klyde learn that some women didn't like surprises? Especially surprises like that...
Well, he wasn't gonna warn him. "Yes. You look fine. I'm sure she won't even pay attention to what you wear or how your hair looks." Desmond promptly responded, practically shooing the other vampire out of their room.

Riyo only half-listened to Mitsu's description of the book as her mind continued to prod her about the clothing of the night. "I... See..." She responded, understanding very little of what her roommate said. Standing again, she fiddled her fingers in thought. "He's taking me to dinner... I'm guessing that's not all but he wouldn't say anything else... And I hate surprises." Since they almost never ended in her favor.
As for the help, Riyo was about to reluctantly accept... Until she remembered something. Her face went blank for a moment as she quietly reached under her bed, hand finding the tophat and grasping around, though she didn't pull it out to show the struggle. There were some things Mitsu still didn't need to know about. Eventually, she found what she was looking for and quietly pulled it out. It was a little black dress. She'd bought it on a whim about a year back, but never had a reason to wear it.
Sitting back on her bed and staring at the fabric, Riyo let out a sigh and started to put it on. It actually fit her fairly well. "Huh."

"You're so kind," Klyde grumbled as he headed for the door getting the hint. "I'll see you tomorrow then." Giving a bit of a mock bow he headed for the door and left. Hopefully everything went well.
Heading over toward the girl's dorm Klyde took to standing by the bench not far from the door. In an almost nervous manner he picked at his button up black shirt, trying to decide how many buttons he should leave open. After buttoning and unbuttoning the top part of his shirt for the fourth time he realized he was nervous. Why was he nervous? It wasn't like he'd never been on a date before. He and Riyo spent plenty of time together....He continued to focus on this problem in the mean time trying to solve the mystery.

Riyo hadn't seemed too interested in what she had to say about the book. She still seemed to be caught up in the dilemma of what to wear. Mitsu focused on her curiously when she knelt down to search under her bed only to come back up with a dress in hand. "It looks really good on you, Riyo!" Mitsu smiled, her voice sounding genuinely excited. "Klyde will like it for sure."

Desmond waved goodbye as his cohort disappeared out the door, looking back to his book with minimal interest. He'd wait about an hour to make sure the two of them were gone, then he'd make a call...

When Mitsu complimented her, Riyo tried to hold back a smile. There was always a possibility she was just being nice, after all. "Yeah. I'm sure." she mumbled, thinking of all the ways he'd probably try to look up her dress somehow. "Well, I guess this is what I'll wear then." Of course, she wouldn't wear it alone. But she did have a plain black jacket in her closet. Grabbing that, she also sifted through her sock drawer for her red and black stockings to cover her legs... And ended the ensemble with boots. Hey. She didn't have any feminine shoes with big-a** heels. That wasn't how she rolled.
"Alright, I'll see you later tonight Mitsu." Riyo assured, not realizing that Klyde had other plans as she opened the door and walked out.
When she reached the dorm exit, she nervously peeked out the door before actually leaving. Wow... Klyde actually looked like he'd put some thought into his outfit. That was kinda nice to see. Finally walking out from behind the door, she slowly approached him. "I like your shirt." She said honestly, disproving Desmond's theory almost immediately.

"Alright, have fun!" Mitsu waved goodbye before she settled back down on the bed. Lazily she picked at her book not sure if she wanted to continue reading it at the moment. She was really more interested in thinking about what Riyo's date was going to be like. She hoped the cat girl had fun though Mitsu was a little sad she wasn't going out this time.

Hearing Riyo's voice a warm smile started across his face. So Desmond had been wrong. Turning he was about to utter a word of thanks but the sight of Riyo caught him off guard. It didn't even seem to matter that she was wearing boots, his jaw nearly hit the ground. For a moment he had almost been certain his still heart had fluttered with excitement. "Y...you look beautiful." He said truthfully, his eyes unable to pull away from the dress. It fit her well, hugged her curves in all the right ways. He was also certain it would look great on the floor of the hotel but that was thinking a little to far ahead. "Ready to go?"

Riyo's eyebrow raised as Klyde seemed to go dumb when he looked at her. Was the dress that bad?
Apparently not when he told her she looked beautiful. A little red crossed her cheeks as she heard the compliment. "Thank you..." It felt really good to be complimented the first time she wore a dress. Made her wonder if she should do it more...
"Yeah, lets go." She agreed, half wondering what other people might be thinking about the semi-formal fashion they were wearing. "So, is this just dinner or are we gonna do something else?"

"I might have a few things planned," Klyde smiled as he offered up his arm for her to take as they walked. "Dinner was first and foremost since I assume you're hungry?" He didn't let on much about his plans, especially his plans for later in the evening after dinner and whatever they decided to do after dinner. Knowing how Riyo was he would have to work it in gradually and warm her up to the idea. Thankfully he had outfitted the room with stuff to 'hang out' so that it was more than just a place to knock boots.

Riyo quietly took hold of his arm as it was offered to her and waited for the explanation of the evening that never came. "Yeah, I'm hungry... But seriously, I hate surprises. What're you planning?" It sorta worried her that he was being so 'mysterious' about it...

Heading toward town Klyde tried to think of what would be best to tell her. How to word it exactly. "Well, after dinner we can go to see a movie or there's a club with a few good bands playing tonight. If we get bored with that I have a room decked out with stuff to do. Video games, movies, and the like." Maybe if he avoided calling it a hotel room for the time being it wouldn't sound as bad.

Riyo had thought about asking exactly what he meant by room, but decided it was probably just one of those places you could go and pay to use a room hourly for gaming. That was cute, she supposed. "Guess you thought of everything." She smiled up at him, squeezing his arm a little. "Nobody has ever gone to such lengths for me... I really appreciate it." How the hell could she repay him for all of this?
"So where are we eating?"

"You're definitely worth every bit of it and more," Klyde smiled, the charm turned up a notch. He led them down the cobble stone path toward town, the dorms now well out of view. "I picked out this place I thought you might like called Buckheads. From what I hear they have the best steaks among other things." When they hit the town road he pulled her along in the direction of the restaurant, it seemed to be a rather large place up ahead.

Riyo's eyes fell to the ground, a sad smile threatening to show. All of this really was lovely... But there was something that still bothered her. "What makes me so worth it? You barely know me..." Not that they hadn't been "seeing each other" for awhile, but he had barely scratched the surface of her issues. There was so much she hadn't told him... Especially... About that...
She really should tell him. Because if something unexpected happened and she couldn't control it, he might be in deep s**t, vampire or not... But how could she bring herself to possibly wreck this? His words made her feel like she might be worth more than anybody (including herself) ever gave her credit for... It was a boost her self-esteem desperately needed. "I-i'm not trying to start anything... I just... Want to understand..."

"Hmm, It's hard to explain." Klyde had to give this one some thought. Why was she so important to him? "You don't really pressure me into trying to be something I'm not. I can be myself." He started. "You tolerate my comments when others would normally have just walked off without a second thought. In fact you usually throw something back which is rather fun." He grinned as he continued. "I dunno you kind of balance out who I am. I've not met anyone like that before. Usually girls like me because they know my family has money or my looks or both." He smiled. "And its because you never ask for anything that makes me want to give you more."
They were finally at the door to the restaurant, the setting inside was something similar to a cabin of sorts, though a little fancy and upscale.
