Kingdoms/Descriptions:

Esperanza:
Long ago ruled by the High Demon Queen Jadiera, Esperanza was once the communal center of power for all the twelve kingdoms. It is still one of the most powerful, but the alliance of the twelve kingdoms was dissolved after the queen was brutally murdered by a religious zealoty shortly following the last rising of the Demon King. It is a rich center of trade with an extremely large standing army, fortified by the mountains ringing the kingdom that act as a natural barrier against attack.

Important Places:
The Black Mage Tower
The Temple of The Dark Tablet
VaTawny's Vale/ 'The Hidden Vale':

Domachi:
A beautiful kingdom built upon a magically created plateau that overlooks lush forest that covers most of the land within its borders. Traditionally ruled by the Dragon Lords, it has remained a force to be reckoned with over the centuries. The unnatural terrain upon which the capitol is built is perfect for defense, as the only way up is a winding trail leading to the top; around and around. The citizens have built an elevator system that can be disabled quickly in the case of invasion.

It is said that it took 100 mages, 100 days to work the magic that made the earth rise up to make the plateau upon which the sterling city is built.

Teir:
Teir, once commonly referred to as 'the land of opportunity' was completely leveled during the last war with darkness. Arkayid Shiro, acting as an unwilling pawn of Sibel, unleashed his power against his home kingdom and destroyed it. Over the years, The vast Crater that was ancient Teir has been repopulated and rebuilt.

Inthe:
A region mostly made of plains and marshes, Inthe breeds all sorts of people. The city is famous for two things, its sheer walls made of magically fortified glass and its World Bazaar. The former was commissioned centuries ago by its most famous Queen, Tsuki (forgot her last name) who was the only Queen to ever also be a mage. Some say she magicked the walls into existence single-handed while others argue that it had to have been an effort of the entire Mage Tower. Either way, the city has successfully repelled every invasion attempt for the last 200 years.

Inthe is also infamous for its notorious underground black market. Between it and the Bazaar, one need only travel to this kingdom to find anything in the world.

Houka (The Houkan Empire):
Houka is home to the Shrine of the Sun, they worship the sun goddess Lycra. A few hundred years ago they were at war with Pearle and a nation of fierce warriors. Today they still carry on the tradition of drafting all teens at age 18, but service is only mandatory for two years and it's more like a type of finishing school than anything else.

The land itself is both mountainous and forested with its own personal desert or two, thus being somewhat tough to live anywhere but a city. Despite this, the people are tougher and many carve out their lives in the deep forests or mountains. A nomads even live in the desert. The throne is traditionally matriarchal and a man hasn't sat on it in over 700 years.

Pearle
Up for Grabs
Pearle is normally a peaceful country,The Shrine of Moon is located in a secluded mountain area far to the south. It is rumoured that anyone that actually makes the climb will see one of the most beautiful and serene sights in the known world.
The priests and priestess' where long white robes and silver circlets. They are trained in the art of spells and such magic things. The children who are tested as adept are taken from their parents young and put into training in the Shrine. Only a select few are accepted, but they are extremely powerful once fully trained. Relations Between Pearle and Houka have always
been tenuous but they seem to have settled the majority of their differences during their last war when they were manipulated by the Demon King Laos's minions into war. Upon realizing how their enmity left them vulnerable to attacks by outsiders they forged a peace treaty to preserve the future of both lands.

I think that we should give the original 12 kingdoms a 'regional' name. Like, from the David Eddings books where they had the 'East' and the 'West'. It's always been a little confusing to me about what exactly we mean when we say that 'Esperanza' is the name of the big country but also the name of the city/capitol. I think, for the sake of clarity if nothing else, we should split up the 'country' into 'kingdoms' and the whole half the continent can be called 'the west'.
