What do you do with them? I've been noticing that more and more of my friends have been posting awful quotes or "jokes" about violence against women.
Here's one from last night that some dude I knew forever posted: "What's the difference between hookers and onions? I cry when I cut onions." .....Seriously? How is that funny or okay? Then of course, the comments were all "lol", and one girl was like "Disgusting, but hilarious" so I commented and went "Actually that was just disgusting. D:" I couldn't just be quiet...too disappointed. >__>
Another time a guy posted a lyric from that song "Love the way you lie", that one where he talks about tying his girlfriend to the best posts then lighting the house on fire. So...completely out of context, that is a whole lotta wtf to read and even ~in~ context, it's kinda ********. I get the song is about repetence or some s**t, but to the dummies who post the lyrics in all seriousness...it seems more like an anthem or something to do. For this dude's status, his friends were like "What??????" and then he just replied "It's a song, lol" and then it was "Oh okay! haha funny!" Um, question - if one posts a lyric of a song, doesn't that generally mean they like it or can relate to said lyric? He relates to wanting to burn his lady alive? Get help.
What do you guys do with these kinds of things? I removed a friend once after she posted her new shitty (like horrifyingly bad quality too) tattoo of a swastika. Obviously shitty for her blatant white-power attitude all around, so yeah.

I post questionable things, once in a while - usually when I'm extremely pissed off or depressed because of some specific thing - but I really try not to, even then.
But even my worst status' are nothing like that. o.O

Wow, I haven't seen anything like that but I have seen people post the stupidest things. Some are funny but most of my friends statuses I don't understand thanks to bad grammar.

Geeze, those people suck.
I removed hubbys best friends younger brother for joking about doing cocaine. I asked him if he was kidding, got no reply, someone else replied and he responded to that, ignoring my question. I left another comment expressing my distaste for such things and deleted him from my friend list.
To this day I have no idea if he's a druggie or not, if he is he hides it well but whatever.
I trimmed down my friend list from nearly 200 people to about 88. I kept only people I talk to at least semi-regularly (online or IRL) and family members and really long standing friends (from childhood).

Honestly, I don't know if I'd be surprised by anything I heard involving Facebook. What with that new addition about groups and whatnot, I'd imagine people would be getting even more rude surprises than ever, too. But yeah, that 'joke' is pretty distasteful.

I love jokes like that. But I try not to tell too many of them unless I know they won't cross the line with the people I'm talking to, and that no one takes them seriously (as in "Yeah! People who are different than me deserve to be cut!") The last year, everything I've said has been way too watered down though.
Almost everything I know is because of dark humour.
For Facebook, I have one friend who comes close to crossing my line a few times, but he's seemed to finally calm down and just posts stupid stuff instead. Usually I wouldn't mind, but I mainly use Facebook to talk to family and don't need random nazi stuff being posted on my page.

Because I know you're joking everytime! biggrin Also = @ Gemstone - I'm still on your friends list, right?! emo

I keep my fb friend list trimmed too, but sometimes some of my closer friends are retarded. One of them is always posting very sexual pictures of herself and going on about some guy... and it's always about a new different guy... every time... and all woe-is-me because it didn't work out. And notes filled with bad poetry. Some one forgot to tell her that FB is not LJ lol
The only offensive stuff I see is written by the brother of one of my friends. Usually I can lol at it, and brush it off since he doesn't post often. I recognize some of his comments as those that more crude comedians have said, and so see that some of his other comments are probably taken out of context. But usually his are the most sexually explicate posts that I see.
Usually people's FB comments just makes me laugh =)

Latest funnies, these three posted shortly one after the other.
Rob --- PMS Hurts men too smile
Trevor --- Have you bought your ad in the Jan/Feb issue of This Magazine yet? We're in Airports Across Canada, and we just won a Newsstand award.. The smart money gets in Today!
Ken --- Dear Feist, I like your music. a lot. and yes, you are fairly adorable. but can you please stop facebook-spamming me about your documentary? I'm not gonna watch it anyways, and it's really taking up important space from Trevor's advertising-ads and Rob's attempts to start riots. thanks, -k.

The one I really can't stand is my brother's girlfriend. She keeps posting stupid crap like, "F*** all haters! I like the way I am", "Ignore all haters. All ya'll keep hating on me, you just jealous"... blah, blah, blah... I don't know what her problem is but she's been annoying the crap out of my sister and I. And she had the nerve to post some explicit garbage the other day. I don't respond to her and I pretend that she doesn't exist. xd

And she had the nerve to post some explicit garbage the other day. I don't respond to her and I pretend that she doesn't exist. xd UGH! What is with that kind of mentality? Is it a low self esteem thing? Is it some kind of personality disorder? Are they just permanently 14? I know a few people who are like that, and usually when I see or hear them make comments like that I can't help but think that whatever problems that had with someone that they feel like they need to boost themselves up in such a childish and dismissive manner, that they probably brought it upon themselves. Usually I find most people are generally good, indifferent. If they are assholes usually it is because they don't have time for you; it's not personal. If you took offence that is probably your problem. And if they were actually rude to you, maybe it is because you were being overly dramatic, retarded, immature, or a b***h in the first place. I think it's some form of projection. People are probably not jealous of you, since you seem rather psycho and unstable. It is more likely that you are jealous of them. Point that out though, and suddenly you are one of the 'haters' and they are going to 'show you!' One day they are going to 'make it big, and then you'll see'. Or some other poop I don't have any time for. I think a lot of silly people forget that no one is obligated to like you for who you are. It is wrong to hate people because of their ethnicity, race, gender, class, age, education, nationality, or health... but personality and attitude? Come on rolleyes We are totally allowed to make judgment calls on that. That is how you make friends and keep people who are not good for you farther away.

Okay - either, she has a problem and needs to SERIOUSLY cull her facebook friends list.
Or - She needs to shut it because (unless she continues status' like that) her friends don't think that! >= Thus, don't need to be subjected to that crap. mad
