He couldn't take it anymore, for nearly two weeks he had been surrounded by them, by her, and he tried so hard to resist, to fight off those primal urges. The worse was at night, like it was now, when Anna was asleep in the den that they shared for some reason or other. It was in the quiet of the night that his mind spoke the loudest, telling him to just go for it, just a little nibble.

Look at her just sleeping there so peacefully, so oblivious to what he was thinking. His bi-colored glowing eyes remained on her for the longest time as she slept. On occasion she would hum in her sleep and that made him smile a bit. He enjoyed him time with Anna, it felt at times almost normal. It was perhaps this that had allowed him to remain so long in a clear minded state, the times when he didn't crave the flesh of a wolf so greatly that it consumed every fiber of his being. But not tonight, tonight he could no longer resist. For nearly two weeks he had waited and another day longer would surely kill him.

Lifting himself to his paws Prion paced around his sleeping friend, his soon to be snack. The bone markings on her pelt made her all the more tantalizing, marking the most tender meat. Oh he would enjoy this greatly. But not here, not now. Poking his head out of the den for easily the hundredth Prion checked to make sure that no one was out and about. Nope, still all clear, time to move. Sliding back inside Prion moved to where Anna was, circling around her trying to figure out the best way to accomplish his goals. Well clearly the only option was drag her out, but that was a lot of work and Prion hated working - it's why he didn't like to hunt. Taking hold of the scruff of her neck Prion gave a few good tugs before she began to slide across the den floor. Oh this was going to be a long night. When he got her to the entrance he pause, releasing his grip to do one final check of the area. Still all clear. Grabbing a hold of her scruff again Prion starting pulling her once more.

He pulled, and tugged, and sometimes pushed her along the way, past all the dens and into the trees. This was not easy and all he kept doing was telling himself it would be well worth it once he finally tasted her flesh. For a long time he worked hard to drag her as far away from the den as possible, less chance for his snack to be interrupted. Thankfully for him Anna was a very heavy sleeper or else he might not have been so successful with this so far.

Finally he was satisfied with how far he had dragged her, plus he was exhausted. It should never require this much energy to have a snack. Setting her down in the middle of a small clearing Prion took a moment to catch his breath. His sides were still heaving when he circled about her, trying to decide where to start. Bringing his paws to a stop, Prion lipped his lips hungrily, who cares where he started, he was going to feast tonight. Lowering his head his licked her shoulder and after only a moment of hesitation he nipped at the fur, he always hated getting a mouthful of fur when he was aiming for the meat - best to get rid of the darn stuff before he started his snack.

User ImageIt was the oddest thing she saw in her dreams. For one, she was on two legs, which was both unsettling and yet somehow familiar, and her bare and strnagely-shaped paws had five wiggling things attached to it (one was larger than the rest oddly). And they were so different to the ones she had in front of her! Five things there too, but longer, slender save for two stumpish things on the insides. What on earth . . .?

And a female was softly humming something behind her, and there was such a pleasant sensation at the back of her head. Someone was stroking it with fine brushes, and it felt so lovely from her head to her shoulder blades . . . It sent shivers up Annabell's spine and made her sigh contentedly. She didn't want to move at all, lulled by the strokes. After a while, though, they seemed to increase in force, localized around her shoulder as if it snagged a knot each time it ran through, and now it felt more like each brush stroke was a slam against her head, the pleasure all forgotten -

Anna jerked awake with a small gasp, the visions of her dream fading but the pain still quite there. She was welcomed by unfamiliar smells and, for some reason, most of her vision was filled by Prion, who was leaning over here and looking quite intent upon something. And . . . well how strange! "Pree...?" she murmured, eyelids fluttering as she tried to shift her weight into a proper laying position, wincing when her shoulder stung. Were there insects about? She hadn't had such a problem before . . .

When Anna stirred a bit Prion paused in his nibbling, but then she settled and he so he resumed the task of pulling out the fur. But then the worst thing imaginable happened, she woke up - completely woke up. If it had have been any other wolf he would have just reached down, snapped her neck and ended it. But this was Anna, he liked Anna, he couldn't kill her - even if only moments ago he was intent on having her as a nice little midnight snack. Oh geez, he had to thing of something and fast.

"Uh...the...uh...you see...umm..." His mind couldn't make up what story to tell her. Clearly telling her the truth would be a bad thing, but what could he tell her? "The den...and well you...sleeping...and uh bad things..." Prion chewed on his lip, trying to think of something. He didn't want to scare her off or have her leave, he didn't want to ruin their friendship. His glowing eyes tipped up to the trees, above which in the dark night sky sat stars and a nearly full moon. "The...the den is dark..." He said a bit hesitantly, forming his sentence as his went long. "Can't see things...like the moon...it's very nice..." He finally returned his eyes to Anna. "...like you."

Well not he was becoming horribly nervous as his previous mind state was fading away and being replaced by a mostly normal thought pattern. "I just, I just wanted you to see it" There that sounded like a pretty good reason, and now that he had had a good look at the moon he did want Anna to see it. Just not under these awkward circumstances.

She wasn't fully cogent, so Prion's various starts and stops were even more confusing to her ears. Blearily the omega roused herself and yawned, looking at her shoulder with an unspoken question: what sort of insect could do that? Maybe a really, really big spider.

Wait there were teeth marks.

Okay. Vampire spider. She shuddered to think of other possibilities.

"Hey . . . Thizzin't my den," Anna realized and slurred, stub tail twitching as she slowly, veeeery slowly pulled herself to her haunches. She was the type to feel oh so heavy upon being woken up normally, let alone being forced up by some odd dream - nightmare? Zombie-like, she turned her head this way and that, taking in the new surroundings with gaining interest. They were clearly not in her den, or in any den for that matter. Why, she was looking up at the night sky! And Prion was saying something about the moon and her seeing it and . . . what else? Wow, something odd must have been slipped into her meal earlier.

So puppy-like, Annabell bobbed her head as she looked upon the great silver orb. "Yeah . . . Yeah I see it. Very pretty." His compliment didn't seem to take for a few seconds, at which point she blinked owlishly and then grinned. "...Awww, Pree, you didn't have to drag me out of my sleep. Moon's not going anywhere. Say, where are we anyway?"

He watched her in silence as she slowly took in her surrounded and realized that in fact they were no longer in the den. While he thought he had done a decent job of explaining the situation he might need to do a bit more - especially if she asked about the small wound on her shoulder. Well he could worry about that when and if it came up, for now he had to focus on what she was saying. And that begged the question, where exactly were they? Prion glanced about for a moment before settling his eye back on Anna.

"M-moon goes away, sun chases it into the ground...and it hides like hoppy snack until night time again. Have to see it now, didn't want you to miss it." His front paws shifted slightly and he lowered himself onto his haunches. "We in forest, dens not far...got tired bringing Anna to moon. Moon very far away." He gave his head a shake trying to rid himself of those last few tendrils of thought that pleaded with him to get that snack he worked so hard for, the one he was now having a conversation with.

"Hoppy snack...?" Oh yeeeeeah. Hoppy snack. She looked to her tummy expecting a growl, but no such thing! Apparently she ate well. What did she eat again? Huh . . . Well whatever it was was keeping pretty well. Anna could feel, the more aware she became, the stress that had been put on her neck from Prion' tugging her here; she turned her head far enough to hear a popping sound, then grinned at her friend.

"Well a'course the moon's far away, silly, it's in the sky!" she remarked brilliantly, and pointed just in case Prion didn't understand. "Right . . . there." It was sad, really, how none of Prion's romantic gestures seemed to be hitting home. Annabell didn't always seem there, but tonight she really wasn't focused. Probably thought this all was some sort of dream. "You coulda woken me up y'know, 'nstead of having to drag me around like a sack of potatoes. Sweet thing, though."

She yawned again and stretched. "Speakin' a hoppy snacks, we won't catch any if we don't get sleep. What's keepin' ya, cutie? Got a bad dream?"

Prion moved his eyes from Anna, to the moon and then back to Anna. Yes, he knew where the moon was, had he not just pointed it out to her? He gave his head a shake. "No, couldn't wake Anna, needed you to sleep, sleep so you could not see." Could not see what he had intended to do, Prion added mentally. He could never let her know, he didn't want to hurt Anna, but his primal urges just got the best of him sometimes. "Wouldn't be surprise if Anna awake*

Prion snorted at the mention of catching more hoppy snacks. "Don't want hoppy snacks, want Anna." It slipped out before he could stop himself so he had to recover quickly. "Uh...want Anna to have all hoppy snacks. Hoppy snacks make Anna happy?" If they did then he might just put those few hunting skills he did have to work to bring her as many hoppy snacks as he could. "If Anna happy, Prion happy...Prion want Anna happy." His mind was fuddled now with various thoughts, thoughts he had never experienced before or at least could not remember ever experiencing before. Why did he want to make sure Anna was happy? Never before had he wanted to make a wolf happy.

Actually for the first part of Prion's response she was staring at her paws like they were the most magnificent things in the world. There was a huge impulse to say something like "Whoooooa. They're like . . . big. And he big's made up of little! 5 littles? No, just four littles and another little on the front ones . . . " And other such nonsense.

Seriously, what did she eat today? Annabell vaguely remembered sniffing out plants as part of her own "self-training" to learn their scents. And one had smelled really, really good. Huh . . . But she couldn't remember what it was specifically. Not right now at least.

"Sleep so I couldn't what? Baaa . . . M'awake now, s'all that matters." Her cognitive functions still weren't keeping up, but no matter how much she tried to kick it into gear everything remained sluggish. "D'be happy if everything made a lick a'sense right now." Why were they looking at the moon again? Moon was always there. Anna really, really wanted some sleep.

"Happy? Happy hoppy . . . Hoppity snacks make happy snacks~" she suddenly murmured in sing-song, grinning oafishly at Prion. She attempted to step forward and stumbled a little into him, laughing huskily. "So tired, man . . . Head's getting heavy." Of course, her head was on a nice warm pillow now, and she didn't want to remove it. "Mmmm, nice and warm~ You're a great bed."

She...she wasn't paying attention to what he was saying. He didn't think he was doing that poorly of explaining things that she wouldn't even listen. It was oddly frustrating, why here he was trying to poor his heart and soul out to her and she was concerned with sleeping and those stupid hoppy snacks. He was gonna have to put his paw down. When Anna stumbled into him and called him a great bed Prion nearly snapped. He gave her a small shove, not enough to knock her over but he hoped enough to gain her attention. "Anna not listen to Prion." He frustration apparent in his voice.

"Prion try make Anna happy, Anna not care, Anna only want sleep. Prion want Anna." And this time he wasn't talking about wanting to eat her, no Prion wanted Anna to never leave his side, though honestly he still couldn't verbally explain that as it was very new to him. What was that word that his mind was so desperately searching for? His paw slapped at the ground in frustration. No, he was going about this all the wrong way, he shouldn't be angry at or with her...he needed to...well he wasn't sure.

Sometimes you had to do something drastic in order to get someones attention. So Prion did the only thing that came to mind, and that was take a bold step forward and run his tongue across Anna's cheek. "Prion care for Anna. Want nothing to hurt her." He could be hallucinating but it would seem that his eyes were glowing brighter than normal, as if to prove his point.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 23, 2010 10:12 am

"'Ey 'ey, watch it . . ." The shove did disturb her little bubble of happiness, but just not enough to pop it completely. Yet. Anna gave him a half-disconcerted, half-"all in good jest" look, which in all honesty even she couldn't quite put together in her head. Maybe it was some other odd combination she was giving him. Something was apparently bugging Prion, but what? Herself? "Well y'didn't have to g'shovin' me, pal," she slurred, attempting to pout and then growing too interested in her tongue to go all the way.

Maaaaaan. It felt so heavy, she let it hang out of her mouth. Kinda like . . . kinda like a puppy did. Very cute things, puppies. "Puppiesssss~ Waaaaaaaant~" Annabell all but hummed to prove the point to herself, back to her goofy grin as she looked to Prion. He almost looked like if he could turn his head around and around, he'd be a great lighthouse. One light for normal, and the other light for warning. They were so bright, though, she couldn't help but stare at them in wonder. Really, Prion himself was a wonder to her: a "pet", a friend, a big fluffy pillow, a good nose, and probably more if she had enough time to figure him out some more.

Also cute. Very, very cute. She wanted to tickle his belly and let him roll over and wag his tail some more. Even his weird 3rd person talking was endearing.

"Nothin's a'gonna hurt me till t'morrow, methinks," Anna responded after a bit. "'Cept . . . 'cept my head. Yeah, think I'ma get a big ol' headache after this." That lick felt nice though, very cooling . . . She leaned her head towards the direction his tongue went and sighed pleasantly. "Felt real nice, Pree," she repeated, softly this time. "What else ya want?"

When she said something about puppies Prions head tipped to the side in that slightly confused way. Puppies? Why was she talking about puppies? Puppies were those small wolf things that grew up to be large wolfs. Did Anna want puppies? Well maybe Prion could find a puppy and give it to Anna. He gave his head a shake, no that wouldn't work. He would have to give Anna puppies some other way. But how? Well maybe he could figure that out later, it would take some serious thinking. But just to be certain he had best ask first. "Anna...want puppies?" He questioned his friend who currently had a funny look on her face.

He took a moment to lick her other cheek before answering her question. "Prion want whatever Anna want." Unless it was to sleep, because right now Prion cared not to rest. Besides they would need to go back to the den for that and he was enjoying having her all to himself out here, he didn't want to share her with the pack.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 23, 2010 12:45 pm

At least that she could understand. At least that penetrated her happy bubble. And it made her happier, because it had the words "puppies" and "want" in it. So of course Annabell's response was to smile and bob her head repeatedly like it was floating in water. "Uh-huh. Puppies are cuuuuute~" she stated. Imagine! The adorable lil' tykes running around at her paws, all with weird hair and short tails just like her, with funny colors and markings and tiny tongues that tickled when they licked her, and smiling faces that touched her heart . . .

Of course, Anna didn't keep in mind the whole "keeping an eye on them" part. Or the "you'll have to feed them all" part. Or the other negative things that tend to happen when you have kids, like less time for yourself. Really, she figured the pack would be more than happy to help with all of that!

Really, it didn't help also that Prion was complying and feeding that sudden maternal lust. The cheek-licking, the romantic moon and stars above them, this firm stance to bring her happiness . . . "Don'tcha think?" she asked him, returning the favor and licking his cheek. This was how a wolf courted, right? His fur tasted and felt a little odd, though like she was licking a soft hairbrush.

Hairbrush. Lighthouse. Really, what kind of words were those?Eeeeh, Anna didn't care right now.

"Listen, you ah . . . you feel like puppies?" Anna's face screwed up in concentration. Wait, that didn't sound right. "Like, ah, gettin' them? Know how?"

Prion never thought puppies were cute, no they were too small and weak and delicious for that. He gave his head a firm shake to rid himself of that last thought. He could not eat puppies if Anna wanted them. Unless she wanted to eat them too, then maybe they could share a puppy snack. That however was doubtful, since she was obviously taken by puppies apparent cuteness. He would need to learn more about puppies and why not only Anna, but other wolves tended to think they were cute.

His cheeks burned with an odd sense when Anna licked them. Why if his fur wasn't black his face likely would have turned a bright shade of pink just then. "Yeaaah." Was all he could say in response to if he thought puppies were cute.

Head slowly tipped to the side when she asked him if he knew how to get puppies. Sure he knew how to get them, you found some hidden in a hole like hoppy snacks and brought them home. But that didn't seem like the type of puppies she would want - and there was another way he knew of. Something he had seen many years ago when he was still living with his now dead pack. There were one or two times where he saw how puppies came to be, but back then it didn't make much sense to him - now however he understood and knew he could do that for Anna. His head nodded vigorously, tongue lolling out of his mouth. "Prion know, Prion can help Anna get puppies." He glanced about them for a moment before turning his glowing eyes back to his Anna. "Go to den first, then Prion show you how."

They could have just done the duty out here, but it just didn't feel right to do so. No, they needed to be in the privacy of the den for this. "Anna follow, Prion show how." He said and began to lead her back towards the den, an odd tingling ran through his body, he was looking forward to this and he could only hope it would make Anna happy and that it would give her the pups she, and he, wanted.

But . . . but . . . How strange. First he didn't want to let her go back, and now he was all for it. Even in her befuddled state, Annabell found that odd, and she squinted at his back. "Waaait . . . waitwaitwait." Though dragged out here against her initial wishes, the night was beautiful. The wind was soft, the temperature comfortably breezy. Only the sounds of the trees' leaves shifting accompanied them; they were, for all intents and purposes, already alone.

There was a vagueness again in her memory, of the same places she kept having little dreams about with the furless creatures. Only this time she could hear her own voice, and that of a man's, but it was too dark both in the memory itself and her head to figure out who. Whatever was happening, though, it sure was causing a ruckus.

Wait, why was she thinking of that? She had to stop him first! "I'ya like it out here, Pree~" she cooed, plopping her bottom on the ground before her legs could tremble anymore and maybe see her on the ground in a less graceful manner. "Why not here? S'nice tonight . . ." The ground was soft beneath her. The idea of a den was suddenly too stuffy for her. Why, she wanted the puppies to know they were found under a moon and stars and a cool autumn breeze, not some hole in the ground. Not with her simply waiting there for something to happen.

Not like a hoppy-snack.

"'Sides, thought y'liked it out here~ Why go back yet?"

Yeah, nevermind that she had wanted to go and sleep only a few minutes ago. Drugs, a full stomach, hormones suddenly flaring up, a great background: not to mention Anna always did live in the moment.

His paws came to a sudden stop when she called out to him. But...didn't she want to go back to the den only moments before. Females were horribly confusing and this had better not interrupt what he had planned to do. He turned to look at Anna sitting there so pretty under the moonlight. Oh boy that was not helping all those new and sudden urges he was having. A large goofy grin crossed his maw and he sauntered back over to her. "We stay, can be done here." He ensured her as he came up to her, circling her once before plunking his butt down so that he face her.

Eyes tipped to the moon for a moment. "Moon help...help with getting puppies. We go back when we want to, den will wait, den always there." Returning his gaze to Anna he licked his lips thoughtfully. Perhaps he should explain, to a certain point what they needed to do to get these pups, as he was certain Anna didn't completely understand how it all went down.

"Uh..." His throat suddenly felt dry as a small amount of fear gripped him, but he pushed it from his mind, there was nothing to fear, only to enjoy. "Puppies not come if we sit, puppies like fun, we have fun then puppies come. Anna and Prion play game to make puppies come. Jumping game." His tail thumped against the ground, what they intended to do was far from a game, but it certainly was fun. "Anna ready to play game?"
