Upon the Boiling Sea

The year, 1647. The Carribean Sea is the grand pathway to a new age of exploration and knowledge. It is also the era of treasure and a private market of brigands and crafty sea bandits. Among these theives passes a song, a legend. A legend of a deadly isle, home of treasure beyond a pirate's wildest dreams.

Fear on the Bridge

Behold a speeding shape. A ship upon the waves racing swift as death.

Torment from the pits of hell in seas where pirates dwell. The armada sets it's course, shadowed by skull and cross-boned force. The crow's nest spots the flag. The captain's plans have hit a snag. With your lives, defend the gold in a fire fight yet to unfold. Opposing ships steered side by side. Fear on the bridge is realized. Cannons blaze in wood they blast. The Spanish ship is sinking fast.

Raiders board the ship. They plunder all their fold, as they're lunging for the kill.
"Their riches will be ours. Take no prisoners. Leave no man alive, for the ransacking awaits. The decks awash with blood"
"Fight to the death. There is no other way." Honour will say kill, as the captains duel on the plank.

When all are dead and all is won there's riches here to steal. Bodies scattered by the waves for sharks do make their meal in flesh. Flesh. Rain begins to fall. Their fold becomes our wealth as they sink into the sea. No mercy for the rich. We wash their blood from our bounty gold.
"We feast tonight."

We're heading due west for the secret island port.
"The plunder divides but give a piece to the sea."
When madness of the fever grips and greed is taking hold, nothing can ever cure your thirst except for rum and gold.

Lord of the Storms

Lord of the storm rides in the eye, eye of the hurricane. Lord of the storm rides in the eye, in the eye of Hell. Rider on the night and ruler of the damned.

Damnation creeps upon everyone, a sense of fatal warning. Within the crew there's treachery, a mutiny is brewing. The first mate draws his cutlass forth, towards the captain challenging a duel.
"You've sentenced us to a watery grave. this ship will sink into the sea.
A brutal storm is on the rise, wrath of an angered deity."
Batten down the hatches for a struggle that will take all of our lives. None shall live to tell the tale of this wretched night.

Terror of the seven seas, Lord of the storm spreads like disease. Unlike anything seen before, the Lord of the storm. Behold the wrath the skies unleash. Until we're dead it shall not cease. The gods have made their judgement call and it spells certain death. The captain mind cannot be swayed. He'd rather die than give away all of the treasure chests below to the grip of the unforgiving deep. Blinding lightning sears the flesh. Raindrops fall like musketballs piercing the skin, wood, steel and bone. All aboard will pay.

The captain surfaces for air amongst the torrent nightmare. Latching to a piece of the hull, destruction's everywhere. No more survivors from the blast, the ship drifts beneath the waves. The master coasts for hours, before the storm begins to wane. An albatross flies overhead, a sign that land is near. An island spotted in the distance, maybe the torment is at an end.

Rain is gone, but doom is near, a shadow's on his heart. Immortality is his, salted tears will drench his days. The captains' lost upon the seas. Penance for his wicked deeds. Cheated by his crew and God as he floats and waits to drown. He has no clue what lies ahead. A deadly isle for him to dread. He thinks he can rebuild his life. Set sail to conquer the sea again. As he touches his feet upon the sandy shore, the sun will rise once more.

Isle of Eternal Despair

Kiss the sand, praising a dry land he has found. Everywhere on shore there's treasure all around. Bury deep the horded loot far down below. No man or god will ever take away your plunder.

He will find a cave to hide away the gold. Doomed to a desert isle. All of the riches in his hands. No living thing around but he will never leave the cave. Alone with bounty gold, something compels him to stay. Heaven or Hell, time will tell.

The captain thinks what will come of this.
"If this is the end, the gold must die with me."
Delving underground, to his dismay, the captain finds a curse. The isle of eternal despair, spend eternity alone with gold beyond his dreams. What a sight that's sitting right before his eyes. Ancient spoils of the pirates of the past. Skeletons are sheathed in gold by candlelight. Hunger sets but he will guard the jewels forever.

Now he's punished by the gods. Forever pondering his greed but he's doomed to eternal life as a golden skeleton. On the isle of eternal despair, he's doomed as his flesh beings to rot, knowing he'll never really die as he decays into living, golden bones, eyes open watching for the rest of his life.

The legend passed down, and many have tried and failed to claim the bounty as their own. Many will still try, but the spanish armada will stop at nothing to rid the seas of the pirate scurge. In the capable hands of Comander Álvaro de Bazán, the spanish fleet as all but delivered the killing strike to the last remnants of the pirate filth.

Waves crashed against the old planks of the Immortal's hull. The ship rode the churning ocean with intent. Lady Luck was clutching the bowsprit, her frozen stare watching the horizon eternal. Gale stood at the ships bow, his foot resting casually on the base of the bowsprit. His cutlass was resting bluntside against his shoulder. His fingers slid along the smooth bulb at the end of the guilded hilt as he supported the rest of the blade. A confident smirk glued to his face, Gale's gaze was fixated on the dark clouds painting the sky in the distance. His ship, The Immortal, was sailing directly at the storm and the frequent flashes of fire and gunpowder strobing in the cloud cloaked horizon told him of a future at port. Rum. Gold. Women. The simplest joys of life were at their fingertips once again.

The air was thick with cannon smoke and the smell of burning wood and flesh. The sky was still grey as the remnants of the storm drifted off with the smoke. Through the fog of war, the wrecks of three vessels were barely visible as they slowly made their descent to the deeps. Gale nodded before turning around and approaching the railing just behind him. Below, on the decks, his crew was already working towards their goal. Gale walked down the stairway just to his right and began across the deck. Shouting orders as he weaved through his crew towards the bridge.
"Alright men! You know the drill! These ladies are about to go to the locker! We've got to take as much as we can grab before they're gone! If you get stranded, Well it's been nice knowing ya'. We'll spend your share in your honor. Now. Get moving!"
Gale climbed up the stairs and joined Star Child at the wheel. She was guiding the ship through the broken hulls and splittered deck wood with ease.
"Alright, Star. Take us in slow. Put us by the first galleon there." He motioned towards the closest wreck. It was small, a schooner. Its broken mast still brandished a tatered spanish flag, indicating it was an transport of some kind. "Looks like a good start."
She nodded confidently in silence, "Aye Captain"
Gale nodded before walking backwards, his hands clasped behind his back. He continued until he'd moved back enough to be standing next to his first mate, who was actively scanning the surroundings and the wrecks from her position at the aft railing. She didn't wait for him to speak.
"You know we're not going to get to them all, right?"
Gale smirked, "We'll see. You ready?"
With that he hopped up on the port-side railing on the quarter deck with a rope tethered to the mast in his right hand. When they were close enough, Gale leapt off the ship clutching the rope. In a wide swooping swing he came to a comfortable landing on the wrecks splintered deck, followed closely by other crewmates using similar boarding methods.

Nicole smiled slightly looking at her captian "Always am." She said and followed right behind him. Landing on the ships deck and turned to the crew "Alright you laxy bums you heard the captain's order. Get to work!" She yelled before starting to search the ship herself. The sea churned below the ship as she slowly went down. Nicole looked into the captain's quarters and swore the room was gaining water and fast. Nicole walked into the room wading through water waist deep and found was she was looking for. The captians logs and personal pay. She pocketed the money and holding the box of logs in her hands waded back out handing them to Gale.
PostPosted: Fri Oct 22, 2010 5:48 pm

"So the cabin is flooded?"
Gale quickly skimmed through the logs while continuing. "Good work, Crab." He then tossed the pay packet back to her.
"Keep it. According to these logs, we'll make our pay in the cargo easily enough. Sugar Cane. We're not even going to worry about the other two."
He nodded before heading below decks to the cargo hold to begin assessing the salvagable cargo. The other two ships wouldn't have near as much as this cargo ship was carrying. One, just a spanish escort. The other was a pirate vessel. From the looks of things, all three went down in the battle. The ship they were on was generally void of crew, dead or alive. The others, Gale guessed, were proabably blood soaked from the battle that claimed them. No long boats. The survivors already fled to the mercy of the sea. This job had been fortunatly simple. A wrekage making its descent at a comfortable speed, and a lucky find in the ship's cargo. This much sugar cane would keep his crew soaked in as much booze as they can stand for months, with enough to resupply and make tedious minor repairs to The Immortal.

Gale placed the ship log in a leather pouch straped to his belt before rushing up the stairwell to the deck. His crew still hard at work and nearly half finished moving the pile of supplies across the thin planks links the two vessels.

Nicole was standing with her back to Gale helping the crew at times but also shouting at them reminding them of the captians orders. Hearing Gale she turned "We've only got half the load off and she's sinking faster than we thought. We only have a few more minutes, not enough to get the rest of the cargo off." She informed him gesturing towards the pile of stuff left.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 23, 2010 4:53 pm

Gale scratched his chin for a moment while staring at the remaining supplies. He started to scan the broken deck.
"This is a cargo ship so where's the cargo. . .Ah Ha!"
There is was. The ships cargo net. It was rolled pefectly and set aside near the topside access bay to the cargo hold. The crooked posture of the sinking ship had only shifted it slightly.
Gale turned around and shouted to the men moving crates and barrels.
"You three! Get that net spread out. Move the stuff over and tie it up." He looked back at Nicole. "We'll take it all in one go."
With that he turned and walked towards the mast.
"Somehow." He added. He then pulled out a small dagger. After wrapping a loose toe rope around a hook on the mast and grabbing the other end, he clutched onto another rope fixed to the mast. With a quick swing his dagger cut the rope and it pulled Gale and the loose rope in his hand up to the gaff of the main sail. He pulled the slack up until the end hooked to the mast tightened. He then wrapped the top of the mast and rolled up the extra slack. Slowly letting more line from the role, Gale tip toed across the gaff until he had only the fluxuating gap between him and the fore-gaff of his own ship.

The gap went from maybe three feet to nearly twenty every time the Immortal rolled with sea. He waited out the cycle to get his rythmn before making the jump. He landed just on the end with one foot but the gaff wobbled and he lost his balance. His hands grabbed the edge and the sail absorbed his swing so with a sigh of relief he climbed back up and made his way to the mast of his own ship. He wrapped the rope around it and pulled any slack from the rope before using it to repel to the deck of the Immortal. He rounded the mast once with the rope and In as quick a sprint as he could manage on the slippery deck he raced back across the bridge planks to his crew, who, with Crab's assistance, were putting the finishing ties on the cargo bundle. He could feel the rope thightening already as the ship was sinking faster and faster. He would have to move quicker. He drew his pistol and tied the end of his rope to the handle before flinging it up and over the rope he'd tied across before. He pulled his pistol and the rope back and removed the pistol before tieing the cargo net closed tightly. His rig was finished. The slack was already pulling tight as the ship sank further. The cargo was being lifted off the deck by the sinking ship itself.
"Alright! Everyone, Let's get off this thing." He shouted before ushering his crew back across the bridge. Gale and Nicole made it back to the Immortal just in time for the plank to pull away from the ship and fall into the water.
"Alright everyone grab this rope and pull that cargo over here!" Gale said as he approached the bottom of the rope rig. "If we can't get it close enough to the deck before we run out of slack, I'll have to drop it in the water."
"Aye, Captain!" Rang out over the deck as every able bodied man, women, and child were grabbing at new sections of slack as they pulled the dangling load across the gap. As slack was pulled the load slid along the rope bridge Gale had created between the two masts. As the load gained height the force began to shift to horizontal movement along the rope. It didn't take long before the load was at a distance he was comfortable with. Gale cut the rope with his dagger and the cargo dropped to the deck with a rolling thud. The rest of the rope pulled off the mast and sank into the sea with the rest of the spanish ship. The men cheered as they began shifting the cargo and untieing the net. Gale let out a sigh, but a smirk was glued to his face in satisfaction. He hopped down and walked over to his crew and first-mate.
"I told you we'd get it all." He said with air arogant satisfaction. He threw his hand up and yelled towards the bridge. "Star-my-Child! Get us outta here! Set sail for Jamaica, we make for Port Royal!"
"Aye!" rang out from the bridge as the ship began changing course. The men dropped the sails to full and the ship began to move away.

The Soul Taker

xMazu helped her brother Nitro get the rest of the barrels and boxes on board before they traveled on the sea.Things were going well as Mazu and her brother had just bought themself a big and nice ship. They had also bought there supplies and stuff for kitchen and sleeping quarters. Now all they just needed was a crew. Nitro had lifted the barrels with much ease and had caught up to his sister. "What, having trouble Mazu?"
xHe asked as he had passed Mazu up. As for her she struggled a little, but enough to get a few barrels in. "Nitro if you would please just get back to work. Im doing fine."
xNitro became quiet and they had soon packed up there equipment. Thay soon would set sail, but they had some unfinished business to attend to.
xMazu and Nitro walked to one of the nearest clothing shops where an old friend had owed them money. Soon after entering the shop they had came out with a pretty well sized bag of coins. They climbed on board the ship and set out to sea. Of course they did this a bit fast as they were eager to leaeve before the officers were informered of there little rondevue. Hopefully they would arrive at a different port soon togather crew members.
xOnce on the open sea Mazu was directing the on their destination and Nitro was helping with mapping. Soon they had stumbled upon a cruise ship. "Brother, should we?" She said with a devious smile as she stared at the ship with a sparkle in her eye. Which was ment as she was going to enjoy there little raid.
x"Your asking me? Its your ship remeber." Said Nitro as he too had a grin and would like to enjoy the moment of hopping a board.
x"Its small so why not?" Once on board the nice and elegant ship, everyone was rallied up by Mazu as Nitro gathered various items and jewels. Once the valubales were collected they came back aboard their ship again and sailed off enjoying their wealth and fun.

As the ship got on course Nicole turned and walked to her position on Gale's right side. "That was the best idea I've seen out of you yet." She said grinning at him. She looked at the sky and saw a line of pitch black clouds ahead of them. "Looks like we're runnin' straight into a good storm." She stated grimly. As the ship neared the front line of the storm she felt the Immortal start to sway a little more than usual. Nicole went to the bow of the ship and strained her eyes to see the waves ahead. Not able to see anything she turned and yelled up at the man in the crowsnest. "What's the sea look like ahead?" She asked craning her head up to see. He stuck his head out over the side.
"We're headin' stright into the heart of a nor' easter'" He answered then pulled his head back over so she couldn't see him anymore. Nicole shook her head and went next to Gale. "You heard that? This isn't good for us."

Gale glanced out over the bow from the quarter deck. This definitly didn't bode well.
"Damn. Port Royal is out then." Gale wasn't one for tempting fate. They had things to offload and money to make. Their were other posts. Gale sighed. "We make for Tortuga."
Gale shuddered. He never cared much for the French. Dropping his cargo in Haiti wasn't ideal but with the weather a problem, it was preferable to a watery grave.

Nicole looked curiously at Gale. "Tortuga? I thought you hated it there. Are you sure? There are plenty of other posts." She asked her voice slightly worried. She looked at the sky again and saw why he would go any where near Tortuga. Nicole made a mental note to herself to never doubt him again, she understood perfectly now.

Starchild cast dark brown eyes towards the captain and first mate from the bridge with her head tilted to the side as she turned the ship headed for tortuga, Eyebrow twitching slightly. She shared a dislike for the french as well as the captain. Giving a soft sigh setting the immortal a sail as she tied back those long raven colored waves of hair letting it fall back to her waist again just to get it out of her eyes.

Shaking her head some she watched the wind, the sky and the sea to make sure nothing disastrous occurred that she couldn't get the immortal out of.
