She was obviously deep in thought, her eyes staring into empty space as she sat at one of the tables in the Cafeteria, head propped up by elbows that were resting on the surface of the table. In front of her was a tray filled with half-eaten food, and an empty glass of Dr. Doom - presumably the leftovers of the Spider Demon's lunch. While Demons didn't need to eat much, it was something she enjoyed. Well, normally anyway... Today was not 'normal'; it was day 2 of her campaign, and few students even bothered to stop to look at her booth.
It was rather discouraging.
"Mmmm..." She muttered to herself as she blinked, blushing when she realized that she had been spacing out in the middle of the school cafeteria. Pulling her tray towards her, Lizzy took a bite out of the unfinished burger; she would need energy to continue her campaign! Then again, since she don't really need physical food to sustain herself, where does her energy come from?

Amrita had been having a very hard time dealing with the creepteria lately. So many people, so many people accidentally stepping on her toes! Granted, that last one was not their fault; most peoples toes faced forward, not backwards. But still, it was hard. She couldn't go anywhere or do anything in remote comfort anymore, and it was starting to wear on the poor girl's nerves.
She managed to get a seat, and she stayed there quite happily, waiting and just hoping for the crowds to disperse long enough for her to make a quick and safe getaway. Through it all however, she noticed she was being stared at. Probably. There was a...Demon? Yes, Demon, she remembered seeing posters and a booth - staring in her general direction. The small Vetala looked this way and that, then went to stare at the Demon again. She was in a line of vision, but it was so, so hard to tell if she was being looked at on purpose!
Biting what was left of her lip, Amrita got to her backwards feet and shuffled over slowly, her reversed hands fidgeting together as she oh-so-subtly went to stand near the Spider Demon, who had gone back to her meal. Oh...oh dear! Um. She should say something; aaah but she couldn't bring herself to talk to a Demon unless talked to first! Whattodowhattodo...
Clearing her throat and clearly nervous, a reversed hand reached out to lightly, ever so lightly, tap the Demoness on the shoulder.

"Mm...?" She mumbled, unable to speak while she was swallowing the food she had been chewing on just as she felt a tap on her shoulder. Quickly, she grabbed a napkin from her skirt pocket to wipe her mouth with before turning around to see who it was that tapped her on her shoulder, half-expecting a familiar face. To her surprise, it was a complete stranger - a student she had not even seen in class before. Her eyes widened slightly and she blinked, looking up at the Undead standing before her.
While it was not like her to stare at someone for so long without saying a word, she genuinely didn't know what to say, especially since she was caught off guard, and... Well, there was something off about this student. She just can't figure out what it was at the moment.
After getting over the initial shock, however, Lizzy offered the other ghoul a smile, wondering if the student had mistaken her for someone else, "Um, hi? Can I help you?" She knew it sounded rather lame, but that was all she could come up with without staring long enough to be considered rude.

Amrita was avoiding staring. Once she recognized that the ghoul was staring at her, her own gaze had dropped to the floor and stayed there for the most part; she spared a couple glances, trying to distinguish facial expressions. It was hard to do with just glances, and the Demon ghoul didn't look one emotion over the other. Well...she could just wait then. Surely soon she would know whether to speak normally, apologize, or get the hell out of here.
"Hi." Amrita replied meekly, starting to fidget again. Could the Demon ghoul help her? No. "Yes." Damnit! She did it again! "Well, no. Just...uhm." The poor girl was starting to look absolutely distressed; she'd never done this before, and especially not to a strange Demon! She couldn't tell her that she looked discouraged or upset or anything, especially since she didn't know what was going on.
"Y-you look like you c-could use an ear and, uhm, both of mine still...still work?" She sputtered out before looking away again, biting on what was left of her lip and twisting her reversed hands together.

She blinked, taking a second to process the question before laughing, giving a sheepish smile, "Oh! Did I look that worried? I was just... Thinking about something. That's really sweet of you to offer though!"
She then patted the space next to her, inviting the ghoul to take a seat. Since she had not seen her in class, she might be a newcomer; if that is the case, might as well tell her about the student council elections! She didn't feel comfortable enough to tell someone she just met about her problems, but perhaps having a nice chat with someone was what she needed to calm down...
"By the way, I'm Elizabeth but I prefer to be called Lizzy," She smiled, gesturing to herself with a gentle pat on her chest, "Are you new around here? I didn't see you in any of the classes I attended."

Amrita flinched when the ghoul started laughing. Oh, did she do something bad?! Oh god please do---Oh. Oh, it was a relief laugh! Well that was good, it meant she wasn't getting laughed at, which was always a good thing! What was left of her lips pulled into a shy smile at the Demon's words. They were really nice, honestly! The offer to sit caught her off guard, but with her smile intact she took a seat, putting some very obvious distance between them.
Her reversed hands rested on her lap twisting and fidgeting as she always did. Her gaze darted between Lizzy and the table, and a hand raised to tuck her hair behind her ear again.
"Hi, Lizzy." She murmured softly, still quite happy to be talked to by a Demon, but still very much shy. "...I'm Amrita. Nice to meet you." All she could do was nod in response to being new; she'd started too late to get in on the first round of classes, and the ones that she could get into were all something she couldn't do. Like magic. But that seemed silly to bring up, at least to her.
"I am still getting used to it...there are a lot of creatures here."

Perhaps she's just shy? Lizzy blinked at the distance between them, but made no effort to close the gap; everyone needs their space, after all! Besides, she was glad that the ghoul didn't turn down her invitation; demons don't seem to be have a good reputation in the school for being friendly... But she was raised in that kind of an environment, to treat every customer equally, regardless of race.
She grinned at her introduction, "Nice to meet you too Amrita! Perhaps we'll be enrolled in the same classes!"
Now that she was seated down, Lizzy realized what was "off" about her.. Her hands seemed to be on backwards! It was quite the shocking revelation, and she couldn't help but stare a little before forcing herself to look away, blushing a pale pink, "A-ah, sorry... But yes, there are a lot of different creatures here." She nodded with a smile, "Although its quite fun, because most of them are quite friendly and you learn a lot about each other just by talking to them."

"...M-maybe." Amrita murmured, sheepishly playing with a bit of her hair now. It was weird but awesome, this talking to (and sitting beside, ohmyjack!) a Demon thing. She felt so important and special and...and wow! It was so overwhelming, she couldn't help but be shy! There was a small, pleased smile on the remainder of her lips though. "I would like that." She murmured a little quieter, wiggling a little bit. Hee, a Demon wanted to be in a class with her! Maybe she didn't smell as bad as she thought she did!
"Why sorry?" She questioned curiously, glancing at Lizzy for a moment. The staring hadn't been noticed again, either that or she was used to it. Her toes drummed lightly on the ground under her seat, thinking back on all the different people she had met already.
"Yeah! Everyone here is very friendly, 'M surprised." Here she thought Demons were horrible creatures and whatnot, but she'd been surprised already! "I even made a friend already!" She keened out happily, suddenly looking a lot less shy and a little more excited.

"Ah... Well... I can't help but notice that your hands are on backwards," Lizzy turned a deeper shade of pink as she fidgeted a little, twirling a lock of hair around her finger as she added quickly, "I-I was a little surprised..." She smiled sheepishly, hoping that the comment didn't make her seem rude; the way her hands were attached was rather... Cool actually. She hadn't seen anything like that before!
"Oh? That's exciting!" Lizzy perked up at the mention of 'friends', her smile widening as she nodded, "I had to leave my old friends behind to enroll, so it was a little lonely at first, but I recently made a friend too! She's really nice and awesome, and currently running for vice-president! If we end up in the same class, I'll have to introduce the two of you!"
She then paused, mentally smacking herself on the forehead, "Oh! Yes, I'm not sure if you've heard of it, but the student council elections are on! Well, to be honest, I was going for the position of Treasurer and was getting a little worried just now." She giggled, "Talking to you made some of the worry go away though!"

Amrita looked surprised, but not because her hand were backwards. She was surprised because the Spider Demon found it so very unusual. Which, upon thinking about it, it kind of was. She knew this of course, but it was something she never really thought about. Everyone she had met thus far had commented on her limbs, but up until now it didn't settle in just how strange it was. The little Vetala raised her hands so her palms faced her, her thumbs pointing inwards as opposed to the outwards it should have been.
Huh.
"Oh! Yes, they are. My feet, too. It's okay, it happens." Amrita said in a thoughtful tone, leaning in her chair to pull up a knee, hoping Lizzy could see her foot; it was too awkward of a twist to bring the foot onto the chair, so this would have to do. "It's not rude, really!" She said with a blase shrug that should not have ever been applied to the subject of reversed limbs.
"I am happy for you!" Rita piped up after returning her foot under the chair where it should be, beaming in a somehow shy way. "You are very nice, I am sure you will make lots more." Nodding, she didn't even think to ask about the friend; and didn't the people running have booths? She was too baffled by the next subject to really think too hard on that.
"Why are you worried?" She questioned, her surprise and curiousity clear on what was left of her face. "You can count, c-can't you?" She realized halfway through that it seemed like a rude comment, but it was too late to take it back! Instead she bit on her lip and looked away, hoping she didn't offend poor Lizzy.
She didn't want that nice comment taken back!

"Your feet?" Lizzy echoed, bending over slightly to look at the other student's feet as she tried to lift them up. While she didn't get a very good look (the angle was awkward), she did catch a glimpse of the reversed foot. As she straightened up, the Spider Demon nodded, "Wow, you're right!" Her eyes slightly widened but her expression carrying mild wonder rather than the surprise from before.
"Aw, thank you! You're really nice too!" She paused, blushing a little at the ghoul's comment before grinning, "Although I just made another friend, I believe!" She ended the sentence with a soft chuckle as she reached out to place her hand on Amrita's hand with a smile; she liked physical touch and frankly, missed hugging and linking arms with her friends back home. Still, her new friends had been great!
"Oh?" She blinked, staring blankly at the Undead before giggling, taking her hand back in order to stroke her chin, in a rather comical way as she gave a sage nod, "Yes, yes I can~ Its just that I'm not sure if I would be able to win... And even if I can, I'm worried that I won't be able to live up to expectations." She laughed, "Although I suppose its best to take one thing at a time!"

She...she was nice?! This pretty Demoness was calling her 'really nice'?! If it were at all possible to get stars in her eyes, now would be the time for it to happen! Amrita had been about to say something when another surprise came - a friend?!
"...M-me?" She spurted out in shocked surprise, pointing at herself with her eye wide. It didn't take long for her to notice the hand on hers - the hand on hers! - and she started to wiggle a little bit in her seat out of pure excitement. Lizzy called her a friend and wasn't afraid to touch her! Eeeee today was awesome!
She couldn't help the giggle at the chin stroking, going back to nibbling lightly on her bottom lip. "I think you can win!" The little one encouraged again. "All you have to do is keep counting!" She was pretty off base about what a treasurer did, but she was pretty sure she understood the gist of it. "I bet you're really good at making things fair." She added.

"Yes, you," Lizzy giggled at the ghoul's reaction; she was just rather glad Amrita did not judge her based on her race, since many of the other students did. Sure, demons have a bad reputation for being elitists and whatnot, but treating all demons that way seems rather unfair and 'elitist' too!
She then nodded at the comment, looking more confident than before as she did a mini fist pump, "Thanks, Amrita! And even if I don't, at least I've tried my best!" She beamed, feeling rather energized after their little talk... And a little 'hungry' now that her appetite was back. She shouldn't allow stress to get in the way of her enjoying her food!
"Have you eaten?" She tilted her head, wondering what the Undead normally eat... Or if she eats at all! Lizzy had quickly realized that not everyone is as fond of bugs (or the idea of eating 'physical' food) as she is!

When Lizzy clarified that yes, she was talking about her, Amrita beamed, grinning as much as her face would allow. A Demon called her a friend! A Demon! Friend! A Demon Friend! That was...just...heee! She was so glad she wandered over here! The little girl wiggled eagerly in her seat like a kid that was just told they were going to have ice cream for breakfast.
"Yes! Tried your best!" Amrita repeated, agreeing whole heartedly. "Do what you can and even if you can't you know you gave it your all!" It was practically a personal mantra. She told herself that so often when she was forced to look herself in the mirror. This body wasn't pretty, but it was the best and most recognizably human one she had ever possessed in her life. It was the best she could do, and she was proud.
"Umm...Yes, I did. I'm sorry." Rita murmured shyly, moving her hands away to poit the tips of her index fingers together. "But...I don't mind if you are hungry." Please, don't stop on her account!

[Sorry I took so long to tag. >.<; I thought I tagged it but apparently I didn't.]
"Thank you," Lizzy grinned as she said that probably for the millionth time that day; it was hard to not say it... Amrita was being really nice to her, and it was a nice morale boost to have that much encouragement. While things hadn't been going quite as smoothly as she thought it would, perhaps she should just take it as a sort of learning experience. She then laughed, "That's true! Its certainly better than not trying!"
She then nodded at the Undead's comment before glaning at the store in the cafeteria, humming softly to herself as she tapped her chin with a finger, trying to decide on something to eat. She craved something crunchy yet sweet... Like fried lice! Although that wasn't on the menu today, so maybe she'll just give it a miss and have a heavier meal later in the day. After all, she didn't feel like having anything else.
"They don't have what I want," She stated, looking a little disappointed for a moment before perking up again, "However, I think that I'm ready to go back to my booth now thanks to you!" The Demoness gave Amrita a broad smile, "Maybe we'll meet in one of the classes... Or you could even stop by my booth if you're free!"
