“Interesting turn of events, wouldn’t you say?” Senri spoke out loud while entering the elevator to an unexpected companion. Kaatje. He leaned against the side of the elevator, one arm elevated against the wall for him to lean on while looking away from his companion.

It would be fair to explain what happened today. He had come to the Halloween carnival with a separate set of friends. Along the way, he had lost them (but that was expected) to the lure of the carnival rides and booths. Like sheep drawn to a slaughter, they had split up one by one. However, his intention was going to the haunted house, having heard some interesting rumors and recommendations about it. It just happened by chance, as he entered the elevator, he had come across a person he had seen far too frequently for his taste. He had only just made it, holding the elevator open when he caught sight of her. “Kaatje.” His voice had drawled over her orange curls. There was no mistaking it. Now, they were standing within a decrepit elevator that looked as if it would stop at any given moment.

On the buttons, Floor 4 lit up brightly. “Why did you press the fourth floor? There’s nothing there.” He said somewhat boredly to Kaatje, while wondering what fate had planned for him. Fate was obviously heading in an opposite direction, or at the very least making detours in where he didn’t want it to.

She had been raised to be a good girl and hold the elevator. If someone was approaching and she saw them, there was no excuse if she didn't stick her foot in the door to keep it open for them. And then, when they said thank you, her mother had always taught her to politely tell them they were welcome, even if they really weren't. Such was the case with Senri Cross, who looked more irritated than anything.

"You're welcome," she said somewhat resentfully, smoothing the white fabric of her dress down in front of her. She had dressed up, of course, because it was a perfect opportunity to wear a pretty costume. Kaatje wasn't anything in particular, but the effect of the golden gradient next to her true-blue eyes and flame-red hair was striking. "What's an interesting turn of events? There's always Halloween festivals in cities."

She wanted to ignore him, and planned on it. "I've heard some rumors," she said. And it was just impulse, really, she'd been alone in the elevator. Why not explore? (Not the best decision, really, that would be poor judgement getting in her way again--) "If you're too scared, Senri, then you can hit the button for the third floor and get off there."

If he did, he had to know that she would mock him until the end of time.

"And precisely because it's a city, it would make sense that I would see somebody else besides you." Considering how large it was, how much time there was in a day, and the dozens of visitors that had been on the elevator, he would meet Kaatje. "So what do you think it is? Fate?" He teased Kaatje, although it was clear that the model believed in anything but fate.

Senri was dressed in the costume of a grim reaper, a black cloak with its frayed ends, carrying a scythe that had been a prop of one of his previous modeling sets. And he was a bit out of character, as a scarf peered out from beneath his black cloak. It was October, entering the cold months, and Senri wasn't about to jeopardize his health by catching a cold for the sake of a costume.

He looked up and down Kaatje's costumed figure, noticing her beautiful features. Sometimes, he was tempted to ask if Kaatje would be interested in modeling, his manager would love her. But then again, he doubted Kaatje would, and that it would put her much closer then Seri would have preferred. He settled for, "I'm not exactly sure what you're supposed to be. But I vastly prefer this costume to the other one." The other one referred to Kaatje's sailor costume - only because their circumstances never seemed quite desirable when they were dressed as senshi.

Kaatje's insinuation certainly affected Senri, an annoyed grin showing upon his face. "Let's see.." He looked towards the elevator button panel and then back to Kaatje. "Let's make a bet about who gets scared first. You, or me?"
