Personality: Blake is, well, a screw up. Despite always being well intentioned, he can never seem to do anything right. He always says the wrong thing, makes the wrong bet, and frequently paralyzes people when he's not suppose to. Because of this he's often unsure of himself, though he always does his best anyway. This does mean he lets others take the lead most of the time, as he knows he'll probably just mess things up.
While Blake enjoys being around others, his so called "way with words" usually leaves conversations rather awkward. When he's sincerely trying to be nice he comes off as rude or insensitive and when he's trying to be mean he comes off as stupid or soft. Otherwise he is quick to befriend others, unless they berate him too much about his screw ups-they're a bit of a sensitive spot and he gets frustrated and flustered when nagged too much.
Blake has some odd habits. One is that he loves the heat. Loves it. He can commonly be found sunbathing or curled up by or in fireplaces. Cold places make him extremely uncomfortable and sleepy, so he tries his best to avoid them. In situations where it unavoidable he'll often curl up right next to the warmest person in the room, which isn't always socially acceptable.
He also has a fondness for digging. If you ask him why he won't be able to explain it, either, but he thinks being underground is one of the best things ever. Ask him for a romantic get-away spot? He'd probably say in a hand dug tunnel. Outside of Halloween town his kin use these tunnels to ambush humans. He hasn't quiet figured this out yet, he just knows he likes to do it.
Blake loves to "help" his friends so when they (perhaps rightfully) decline an offer made by him he tends to sulk and pout about it. He'll tend to hold it to them for an unreasonably long time too, a bit like a little kid who didn't get the toy they wanted.
Bullies really piss Blake off, mainly because he's usually the one being bullied and his retaliations never seem to remedy the matter. Anyone who bullies his friends will also make him extremely angry and he'll usually lash out unsuccessfully to "help". If you're a random citizen being treated badly, though, he won't give you a second glance. Better them than him! He takes care of himself and those close to him and that's it. He's not terribly benevolent, luckily for them.
The removal of his glasses doesn't make him angry, but it does upset him and make him extremely nervous and he'll usually get pretty mopey. His sunglasses are the only solid prevention for one of his typical fumbles, so to have them taken off makes him tense and obsessively uncomfortable. He won't make eye contact with anyone, for fear of accidentally paralyzing someone, and the whole situation will generally mean he can't focus or pay attention.
He also has a strong, irrational reaction to chicken. Alive, dead, it doesn't matter, chickens freak Blake out. Just being in the room with chicken as a meal makes him wary and if he consumes it he makes himself physically sick until its purged from his system. Live chickens, of course, are worse, and he'll make wild attempts to escape, hide, or if all else fails stuff random stuff in his ears to prevent sound from getting through. His fear supposedly stems from the myth that a roster's crow will kill a Basilisk, though he's never had a family member die from one. He is somehow convinced, however, that some roster somewhere could and he'd rather not take any chances. How that applies to hens and meat is a bit of a mystery though.
It is important to note that Reapers make Blake nervous. This is because much of his kin, including the distant relatives of dragons, have often been slain by Reapers in the past. While he doesn't outright hate Reapers per say, he'll often be even more of a mess than usual around them and won't be able to form any sort of stable relationship right away if at all.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Blake is tired of being a screw up. He wants to succeed and become independent. He hopes that in mastering his abilities and getting some book smarts he might be less of a failure. Whether or not that will be true will have to be seen as he progresses.
FEAR: Petrification - While Blake can't actually turn anyone to stone, his fear ability does allow him to turn individuals he looks at with his six eyes into a petrified state. They are alive, but are frozen, including respiratory functions. This state only causes permanent damage when imposed for an extremely long period of time. At the moment, Blake can only keep someone like this for a few seconds.
Natural Ability: Heat resistance - Basilisks can withstand temperatures of over 300 degrees. They in fact prefer hot places, which is why they often hide in people stoves, camp fires, and local volcanoes.

Hair Colour/Style: Black
Skin Colour: Tanish brown
Clothing Style/Colours: He usually wears huge dark sunglasses to keep his eyes from being visible to the general public.
Extra: Big, and broad shouldered. He also has six eyes, a thick spiny tail, and a couple of horns running up his head. His eyes are slitted and cannot move independently.
His true form is a stocky lizard like creature with six eyes and 12 legs (6 front 6 back). Think sort of like a horned lizard with extra limbs, big jaws and nasty teeth, plus a few more eyes. So he is only humanoid when he wears his pin, otherwise he's just a big ol' lizard creature. :>
