Cecilia was wandering about the forests in the base of the mountains. It was harder to travel all the way down them when she wanted to hunt, but the snowy banks of trees on the mountain were too much in the habit of attempting to drop snow on her head as she passed.
She hummed a little song as she walked, occasionally tripping on her tail. It was very nice out today! Sometimes she found she missed this kind of climate outside Starborn. She was fairly certain she wouldn't run into any other foxes this close to the mountains. Not many were all that fond of the cold.

Urgh. My, wasn't it cold. Kupe gave a shudder as he pushed his way through snow, the strange, white...cold? Yeah, it could simply be called cold. It was so unfamiliar to the male. He had always kept himself around The Bamboo Tribe's lands because of his other siblings and father, but had decided to trek out farther this past week. And where had he ended up? Here, in some strange land, which was more than foreign to him.
Mountains were strange. Pine trees were strange. All he knew was bamboo! 'Who on earth would be out in a place like this?' He thought to himself with a slow turn of his head to look around at all of the trees and snow, a puff of air coming from his mouth as he let out a sigh. Suddenly, he heard the sound of someone humming. W-who would be out here?

Cecilia heard something cackling in the brush up ahead. Her ears pricked up in interest. Was she so lucky that she'd already found some prey on this hunting trip? She hid behind a bush and waited. The sound was getting closer and closer.
At the exact moment the creature would have crossed her hiding place, Cecilia pounced! Unfortunately she was standing on her tail, so it was more like a trip-and-sprawl-on-face than a pounce.

Did he smell.. No, it couldn't be... Was it another fox?
When Cecilia burst out from the bushes, nearly stepping on his tail, Kupe quite literally jumped a few inches in the air, much like a startled cat would. He sucked in a breath, fur bristling at the possible threat and heart beating about a thousand beats a second. Exaggerated, of course, but god! He hadn't been expecting anything like this today. Letting out a shaken breath, the male stared at the vixen's form in the snow, dumbfounded. S-should he check on her?
That was probably the best thing to do, right? Making his way over to her face-planted form in the snow, Kupe gave a gentle nudge at her with a paw. "Are you alright? That l-looked like it hurt." Gah, he was still all twitchy and jittery from that more than unexpected surprise.

Cecilia lifted her face from the ground and gave her head a shake, blowing out of puff of air to get her fur out of her face. She felt embarassed more than anything. She'd nearly pounced on this innocent male!
"Oh goodness, I'm fine! Happens a lot. I didn't get you, did I," she asked, stormy eyes worried. He didn't look hurt, but he was definetly trembling a bit and his breathing was kinda shakey.

Kupe couldn't help himself, giving a small chuckle as the female blew her fur away from her face. That probably wasn't one of the most preferred ways to meet someone, leaping and just planting your face in the snow. Poor gal. He drew his paw away from her and set it down. It happened lot to her? My, that sounded dreadful. Did she hurt herself sometimes when things like that happened?
"Oh! Oh, no, no. I'm fine." At her question, he gave a shake of his head, his trembling having now turned to mere shivering. "I was just a little startled, that's all. What about you? Are you sure you're alright, miss...?" His voice trailed off as he realized he didn't exactly know her name or anything.

"Ah, Cecilia. My name is Cecilia." She stood, shaking her coat out. "Oh goodness, no. I seem to have a natural resilance." She chuckled. "I'm just a tad clumsy, so I guess it's a good thing I don't get hurt easy."
She looked at the male, curious. "What's your name sir?"

"Ah, well that's a good thing, indeed." He said with a nod of his head, tilting his head to the side to avoid whatever snow may have been flung off her coat. He then turned to face her, giving a smile to the female. "My name's Kupe. There's no need for any of that sir stuff." Kupe then cocked his head to the side, reaching out a paw to dust off some light snow powder on her shoulder before pulling his paw back. "Can I ask what you're doing out in a place like this, Cecilia?"

Cecilia looked at Kupe curiously. There was only one male in their tribe, and he could be touchy too, but Conall was a big flirt. For the most part normal foxes stayed in their own space. She didn't think she'd ever met a fox who could be touchy in a nonromantic sense. It made him kinda interesting.
"My tribe lives around here. Well, not around here," Cecilia amended, looking around her. "We live on the other side of the mountain. It's just we don't eat meat, besides fish, so we have to come out here if we wanna hunt."
She chuckled sheepishly, tail swishing behind her. "I admit I didn't have to come all the way to the bottom of the mountain, but the walk was nice."

"Really? That's interesting." Kupe said with a twitch of his ears, curious about her tribe and it's lifestyle. How did... how did you not eat meat? The Bamboo Tribe his father was in hunted and ate whatever they wanted, and his siblings and he hadn't ever really been given restrictions as far as food went. She was different! 'A nice walk, hm? I've never been around the mountains. I might have to check that out later on.'
"Oh, a-are you hungry still? You came here hunting, didn't you? I wouldn't mind helping you out with that. T-that is, if you wanted my help! I won't stick around if I'm unneeded.." He was a bundle of nervous as he offered his assistance, awkwardly looking away at last minute and lightly blushing. What if she didn't want him around?
Might as well start thinking of where to head to next. He wouldn't be needed, and she was obviously able to hunt by herself, and..

"Really," Cecilia asked, looking surprised. "That would actually be a big help, I'm a horrible hunter!" She ducked her head bashfully at her own lack of skills, but had a good-natured grin on her face.
"Being in Starborn doesn't help. When you don't use hunting skills, they go bad. I never really had those skills to begin with." She chuckled a bit. Really, if it wasn't for her sister Cecilia wasn't sure how she'd have survived. Plants alone couldn't keep a fox going.

"Really?" Kupe blurted out, his tone nearly identical to her surprised one. He hadn't been expecting that. The male then gave a short smile and an unusually cheerful wag of his tail. "Okay then! Sure, I would be glad to help out, in this case." He answered back with a small grin, giving a playfully teasing chuckle at her comment about her hunting skills. Oh man, poor Cecilia! Maybe he could teach her a thing or two on this little trip of theirs. "Don't worry, we'll try and work on those hunting skills of yours. Well, building some. It'll be easy, promise." Why, he'd basically been forced to learn these sorts of things by his parents.
"Ladies first, Cecilia." Kupe said simply, giving a gesture of his paw before he turned his head to look around them. "Anything in particular we're looking for today?" He would certainly be glad to help out in this case.

Cicely shook her head. "Nothing in particular, I'd say, but nothing too big. I'm not going to be down here for more than a week at most, the others will start to worry if I'm gone longer." The only reason she could get away with a week even was that she was the tribe's gatherer. The whole area around the mountain was filled with useful or tasty plants, so she always made sure to bring some back.
Seeing Kupe indicating for her to go first, she blushed a little. She was very used to her own clumsiness, but it was embarassing to think this fox would have to witness more of it. "Ah, okay." She turned her face to the wind, sniffing. Slowly she turned a complete circle, still trying to find something by scent.
Not really much seemed to be around. Instead Cecilia tried to find a likely looking route, and set off that way while trying to be sneaky. Her tail nearly sent her sprawling again not two feet later. She regained her balance before her face met the ground, but she could swear her fur must look bright purple by now!

Was the hunting up here in the mountains the same as down near his father's tribe? Hm. Deer, wild boars, hares, rodents were plentiful down there, but maybe it was a little different here. Were there more dangerous predators roaming around too?.. That worried him a little. "Alright. That sounds good to me." Kupe replied with a bob of his head, following behind Cecilia as they began.
Now that he actually paid attention, he noticed how pretty her fur was, the shade of blue on her almost the same as the one his father had on his coat. It was different, though, in a way he couldn't exactly differentiate. In fact, it almost looked as if it was sparkling and shining when the light hit it.. But no, that couldn't be. Perhaps it was just a trick of the eye?
Soon, he was distracted by his observations as Cecilia set off on a new route. Trailing behind her as she almost sent herself into the snow again, the male padded over to her side. "Careful." Kupe gave her a quiet smile and a wag of his tail, ignoring her blushing entirely for her sake. He wanted to encourage her, not do the exact opposite! That would be pretty awful of him, making fun of her or something like that.

Cecilia shook her head, looking a bit mournful. "Oh dear. I'm afraid I'll just scare off all the prey in the area. My feet just can't seem to be quiet." Her sister was the one with the quiet feet and grace, and had done pretty much all the hunting for them.
The whole hunting trip was beginning to seem hopeful. Cecilia looked over at Kupe with some distress in her storm-gray eyes.
