White paws padded quietly along side the river that ran along the southern boarder of the Lunarie Tribe lands. There was a full moon out and the skies were clear making it easy for the young male to see where he was going. Eon's night vision was nowhere near perfect, but it was enough for him to function in his tribe. Tonight he was exploring the southern boarder for the first time, so he was happy to see such perfect weather. It wasn't long before Eon decided that he really liked it here. Foxes from his tribe rarely came out this way so it was nice and secluded. The river added a nice touch to the setting as it babbled softly. Eon found a nice grassy spot next to the river where the moon could be seen and not hidden behind trees. He decided to stop his exploration and sat down to take in the scenery. It really was a beautiful night.

Alanna was hiding, trembling slightly, behind a bush.
She'd been separated from her twin, but was trying to make the best of it. She'd found this nice river in the forest, clear and cool and, most importantly, private.
Not that her day was perfect. She'd been twitching and flinching at every sound all day. Darkness really didn't help, though her night vision was very good. The full moon almost made it unnecessary though, turning the river into a strip of silver on the ground.
Alanna had been sitting, enjoying the view, when a sound caught her attention. Unlike the quieter ones she'd heard today this one was bigger, louder, and definetly near!
Her philosophy was better safe than sorry. She'd ducked behind a bush, and not a moment too soon! She'd been peering at the trees and not five seconds later a fox turned a corner out of the gloom and walked into the moonlight.
He was dark-colored much like her, and seemed to be strolling along just for the pleasure of it. She shrank closer to the ground, hoping he wouldn't notice her.

After a few moments of taking in the view, Eon let out a happy sigh and laid down. It was good to be away from his energetic mother for once and the other foxes of his tribe. Well, except Veto, he wasn't that bad. None of the foxes in his tribe were really that bad, he just preferred to be alone.
When he laid down, Eon caught the scent of a fox nearby. It was a scent he didn't recognize. An unknown fox on the tribe lands? Eon wondered if he should seek out the fox and tell them to leave, or report them to Ari. He sniffed the air a little and pin pointed the location of the unfamiliar fox. Whoever it was seemed to be hiding or stuck in a bush. What on earth were they doing there? Maybe they didn't know they were on Lunarie lands?
"....Hello..?" Eon said to the bush without getting up from his current location. His voice was quiet but he was sure the fox would be able to hear him. He could only hope the fox hiding wasn't a mean fox that planned on attacking him.

'Aahhh! Red light, red light! Okay girl, just calm down. Maybe he's just guessing. Just keep calm, keep quiet, and he'll go away.' Yup, Aly was just odd in her mind. She thought she might have 'eeped' outloud, but lots of nighttime noises could have covered it up. Maybe if just she stayed perfectly still....

How strange. The unfamiliar scented fox wasn't responding. Maybe they were hurt? Or maybe they were planning on attacking him if he got up to check on them.... Eon ran through the different scenerios in his mind, each one growing more wild than the one before. After a few minutes of debating and forcing his imagination to calm down, the dark male decided to try again.
"...Hey... I know you're there...." Again, he didn't move and he kept his voice at its normal quiet level. "...You can come out. I won't hurt you." He hoped the fox in the bushes could hear the sincerity in his voice. He wouldn't hurt them, that was the farthest thing from his mind. Eon was more worried about them hurting him.

There was overwhelming silence in the moonlit space. Ten seconds passed, twenty, then thirty. Finally there was rustling sound, dried leaves scraping against earth and twigs as something moved over them.
A black nose peeked around the foliage. A white jaw and black forehead followed. Pink dots marched up the nose heading between the eyes. Pink and white bangs. Finally a pink eye followed the face.
The face was low to the ground, showing the fox was either close to the ground or on it. The face shape indicated this was probably a vixen.
((Sorry for the shift in POV >.> It just seemed better that way lol.))

Eon was almost sure he was going to have to get up and investigate the fox in the bush when he heard rustling noise. He stared at the bush as what he thought was a noise appeared. Upon further inspection of the face that was slowly making it's way from the bush, Eon decided that it was indeed a vixen hiding there. What he wasn't sure about was if she was just being overly cautious or if she was scared of him or shy. At the rate she was creeping out of the bush, it was probably shyness.
"...C'on." Eon said as he beckoned the female over with a slight nod of his head. "It's alright. And the view is much better over here than in a bush." His voice was still quiet and he smiled softly at the vixen. He wondered what she was doing out here and why she was hiding... If, indeed she was hiding and not stalking or something. Eon held back a sigh. He really needed to work on his paranoia.

Alanna was surprised the entire bush wasn't vibrating, her limbs were shaking so much. He had spotted her and knew she was here and he looked grumpy about something! He was probably mad at her for being here or something like that and planned to do.....something. She didn't have much experience with males, she'd admit, but still!
She shook her head violently and half-retreated so only her snout was showing. "N-no thanks. I'm f-fine here." And there was the stutter. It only ever came out when she was freaked over something. Which was probably a lot....

Eon's ears perked up a little as he heard a tiny voice come from the bush. From the way she was speaking, the vixen sounded terrified. So she was just hiding then? But why would she hide? Eon wondered if he looked scary or something. No one had ever called him scary or intimidating before, so why now? He didn't think he was scary looking in the slightest, but then again, he wasn't seeing himself from the vixens point of view.
"Are you sure? It's nice out here." The dark male tried again. No one deserved to be that scared out here when it was so safe. "I'm friendly, I promise. I won't hurt you." Eon laid his head down and relaxed as much as he could. He smiled to the bush and the vixen behind it. He was determined to get her out from behind the bush and calmed down. The night was too beautiful and calm to be upset or scared.

Alanna considered this. The male was promising he was friendly and wouldn't hurt her. But he could be lying. She bit her lip, wishing Harle was about. Her twin brother had more than enough confidence for both of them, and was always telling Alanna she needed to make more friends.
Slowly she made her wobbly legs stand. She tried to order them into stillness, and was only partially successful. Ah well, a few tremors wasn't that bad. Getting herself to move forward was harder, but again there was partial success.
This time it wasn't her face that peered around the bush, it was her entire head. Very slowly a white-and-pink-tipped leg came out, followed by another. She couldn't make herself completely come out from the bush though, so stopped when her body was halfway out. Her tail, still hidded, twitched behind her in a slightly aggitated manner. Alanna kept her body pressed close to the foliage, in case of the need for a quick retreat. For the first time she was directly facing the male.

Eon kept his head on the ground and his body relaxed as the vixen started to emerge from her hiding place. Now that he could see most of her, he noticed that she had colors that reminded him of his mother Era in a way. Although she was making progress, the vixen still looked almost terrified of him. He must have really spooked her. Eon made a note to appologize for that after he got the vixen fully out of the bushes and calmed down.
"My name's Eon." He said, still offering her a warm smile. "Don't be scared." Eon didn't expect her to talk back to him and that was fine. She would talk when she was ready. He turned his gaze away from the vixen and back up to the moon. It shone brightly in the night sky as if it were smiling down on them. Eon wondered if the vixen liked the moon as much as he did. He made another mental note to ask her about that once she was comfortable with his presence.

Alanna's behavior was not too different from a deer who might be scoping strange land already occupied by others. As nonsocial as she was, she was able to recognize the male's position as a relaxed an nonthreatening one.
"'M Alanna," she muttered quietly, having to look down at the ground. She was comfortable enough with the male, Eon, to look him in the face as she spoke.

Eon's ears twitched a little, straining to hear what the vixen had said. She quieter than he was. That was a strange concept for Eon since he had never met anyone who spoke more quietly than he did. His gaze turned back to her and he noticed she wasn't making eye contact. But she had spoken to him. That meant he was making progress. Maybe if he continued talking with her, she'd warm up to him? It was worth a try.
"Alanna? That's a pretty name. "What're you doing way out here Alanna?" Eon had lowered his voice to match the volume of hers. Even though she spoke softer than he did, he was glad that she was a quiet fox and not a loud obnoxious one. Quiet he could work with.

((You gotta wonder, with those giant ears, is there anything they can't hear XD ))
What was she doing here? Oh my, what was she doing here?! Alanna's went completely blank. 'Okay, okay, work it out. Here, where's here. Forest, at night. Sounds like a river. Okay, good. Why are you in a forest at night by a river? Aaargh!'
She realized the silence had stretched for quite some time, and Eon might be wondering if she was damaged in the head or something. In glancing up at him she happened to notice the silver light that spilled on the ground and frosted his coat. Oh yeeeea!
"Lookin' at the moon," came the response, still very quiet but maybe a touch louder this time.

((I'm sure it'd be hard for them to hear a leaf fall 10miles away.... >.> Eon has hearing problems? XD))
The three toned vixen too much longer to answer the question than to speak her name. Eon wondered if he had done something or said something wrong. He was just about to change the subject and see if he could get her talking about something else when her response came. So she was out here to look at the moon too? The smile on his face brightened a little. Maybe he should show Alanna to his tribe if she liked the moon. Come to think about it, she did remind him a little of one of the carers there, Thea.
"I see." He responded, still trying to match her volume. "It is very lovely tonight." Eon made another beckoning motion with his head to Alanna. "You can see it better from over here." Slowly, very slowly, he scooted his body over a little bit towards the river to make room for Alanna to come sit where she could see the moon but not be too close to him. He hoped his action would bring her from behind the bush fully.
