The bin.

THE BIN.

The bin was her salvation, her treasure trove, her go-to bin of binlyness.

It saved her on more than one occasion where Kasumi needed another outfit for a new class, or something to head to Fearleading tryouts in. It clothed her, kept her ectoplasmic form warm (at least, warm in her mind) and kept her reasonably fashionable, if not simply dressed in time for school. Having come to Amityville straight from the human world after death, Kasumi didn't possess any clothing save for what she died in - a raggedy old hospital gown. Now that she was in school, she wanted an entirely new wardrobe so she didn't have to wear the same thing over and over again. It was embarrassing.

The Lost and Found Bin lay outside the Headmistress' office for easy pickings monitoring, and Kasumi was a frequent customer at the House of Bin. Now, she was leaned over its rickety edges, rifling through old toys and boy's wear to find something that might fit her own form and sense of style. She couldn't be too picky, mind you, but Kasumi was determined!

"Oh Mighty Bin, please bless me with your abundance of clothing items..." she pleaded to it, tossing stained shorts over her shoulder and onto the floor.

So far classes had been mildly interesting for her and Alcie had met a lot of new students which she was very excited about hanging out with. Lately, she had been wandering the school a lot trying to figure out what her next adventure would be but she hadn't found anything that really piqued her interest yet.

Alcyone just happened to be passing by Hellma's office when she saw someone pulling clothes out of the Bin. Raising a brow, the water demon approached and observed the ghost curiously wondering what she was doing. The Bin was full of discarded and generally distasteful clothes and Alcie was not entirely sure why anybody would want those clothes.

She didn't say anything and just observed as Kasumi picked through the Bin for a moment or two before speaking, "Find anything interesting?" Smiling as she watched her, Alcie couldn't help but be really curious in what this ghoul could be looking for.

Kasumi had been consumed with her mission to find something else to wear, when someone else's voice reached her while deep in the recesses of the Bin. Lifting her head, her hair got caught on a shirt as she turned to look at someone. Oh, what a nice dress! "Hello!" greeted the ghost, a smile on her face while admiring the newcomer's lovely garments. Pulling the shirt from off of her head, Kasumi quickly inspected it. Bah, meant for a boy. It might have worked as pajamas but... she'd prefer something else if at all possible.

Turning back to the Bin, she shook her head. "Nothing good, but interesting is another thing entirely." Snatching up another treasure from the Bin, Kasumi held up a sock with pink unicorns and rainbows on it. "It has 'Calder' embroidered on it. I wonder who that is?" Shrugging, she tossed the sock back inside the Bin. It deserved to stay there as far as she was concerned.

Standing up straight, Kasumi gave the girl a polite bow, like she did with everyone new she met. "I'm Kasumi. It's a pleasure, Miss...?"

Alcyone smiled as the ghoul turned her attention and greeted her. "Hello there!" She was curious to know why Kasumi was rifling through the Bin even though it seemed clear that she was looking for something to wear. Perhaps Alcie could offer some help? Looking at the sock that she had just pulled out, Alcyone winced slightly as she saw the pink unicorns and rainbows. Who in the world would ever own such a thing?

"That is... interesting." Shrugging it off, Alcyone introduced herself, "Alcyone. Or you could just call me Alcie. It's quite the pleasure to meet you Kasumi." Smiling widely, she was always happy to be meeting new students and making new friends. "So, why are you going through the Bin? I always thought that those were discarded clothes not ever to be worn again."

Alcyone came from a relatively well off demon family so she never had to worry about clothing or anything financially. Privileged was what they called it nowadays but Alcyone never really cared too much about her style, that was her mother's doing.

Discarded clothes never to be worn again? Nonsense! Ghosts were into recycling and re-appropriation, apparently. Snatching up another oversized shirt, Kasumi picked off a stray hair or two. "Alcie? Well then, I'm glad I could meet someone else in the halls. Sometimes it gets too dreary." No, this shirt wouldn't do. Tossing it back, Kasumi pondered another dive. But ho! Alcyone looked like she belonged in the water, for better or for worse, and was quite fashionable to boot! The ghost was impressed, and bowed to the newer student.

"You'll have to tell me one day where you go your lovely dress! And are those... fish fins?" She didn't want to seem rude, but Alcyone's ears were quite interesting! What sort of creature was she, a monster maybe? Maybe she could breathe underwater as well! That would be interesting. Kasumi remembered the school had a swim team of some sort...

The ghost shook her head. "You'll have to forgive me. When I came to the Academy, I didn't know much about Halloweentown. Being a ghost will do that to you."

The halls did get dreary when you were wandering around alone and in between classes. Most students stuck to their dorms anyway. "Yes, a little too dreary for my taste." Alcie observed Kasumi curiously. Before she had arrived here at school, her family really kept to socializing with other demon families. And then she came here and there was a whole new array of different races everywhere. Surprisingly, Alcie didn't come with the standard superior attitude about demons like the rest of her kind... not yet at least.

"Oh thank you. I wish I could tell you now but it was an outfit my mother picked out. They're kind of like... fish fin-like demon horns? It's kind of difficult to explain." Alcie really didn't look like a demon at all and looked like she could fit into a variety of other categories. Her entire family had these fin appendages on their heads and the only way you would really know that they were demons is if they did some sort of magic. "It's alright. Most would guess that I was a type of siren or something. My family has always had to assert its place in the demon world." Alcie was relatively unaware of how all of those politics worked though she knew they existed. She really didn't want to take any part in things like that though. There were more pressing matters at hand...

Alcie found ghosts very interesting because many of them weren't created in Halloweentown. That meant that while they were alive they lived in the Human World. Though from what Alcie understood, they couldn't remember anything about their lives which was unfortunate. She was incredibly curious about the Human world and what it was like up there. "Were you escorted to Halloweentown by reapers?"

Good, someone else agreed that sometimes, the halls were a tad too dreary for their own good. Something pink and fuzzy would be too much, but perhaps a little more lighting, especially for those students who had real, working eyeballs? Kasumi shook her head. "Ah, so you're a demon? I would have guessed a mermaid or something like that, to be honest. I think I've seen a siren boy...thing... around here somewhere. Looked like a bird more than anything else. It must be advantageous to be able to hide it like that but... who am I to assume? I wouldn't know."

Blinking, the ghost regarded the young lady in blue curiously. "Was I brought here by a reaper? I... suppose I was." Kasumi tapped her chin thoughtfully. "Truth be told, I don't really remember much about where I was before here, except that it had a very distinct smell and people weren't right in the head, if you catch my meaning." She distinctly remembered feeling incredibly scared and alone in a hospital, and was reminded of it by the gown she wore, hence why she was so determined to rid herself of it. The fewer reminders she had of it, the better.

Of course, a constant reminder that couldn't be left somewhere were her visions. Currently, Alcie was standing next to several armed guards with distorted faces, but Kasumi did her best to ignore them. Still, they way they handled their guns made her nervous for the demoness' safety, and it probably showed. "You... may want to shift slightly to your left."

Nodding, Alcie giggled slightly because she got mermaid a lot. "Yeah, a lot of students have guessed that but nope. I believe there is a mermaid student though I haven't met her. This school is so diverse, it's a little overwhelming sometimes." Alcie grew up basically only around demons so to have class and be in such close proximity to other races was very strange. She didn't have quite the demon mentality of superiority yet but her family definitely did. Alcie didn't know if her mother would approve of her talking to Kasumi or not.

"Oh." Not meaning to bring up potentially bad memories, Alcie was quick to change the subject. But before she could do so, Kasumi requested her shift to her left? Tilting her head curiously at the ghost, Alcie took a step to her left wondering why she had asked her to do that. It might just be a ghost thing... "Well, let's help you find something new to wear or maybe I could let you have something of mine." Her mother was an insane shopper so Alcie's wardrobe was well stocked. When her mother enrolled Alcie, they had made several trips to the maul to make sure that she was well dressed.

"I wonder, is it embarrassing to have to explain that you're not a mermaid every time someone asks?" She tapped a ghostly finger against her chin - a constant habit when she was in thought "Then again, since I don't have any wispy appendages, students often ask me what I am if I'm not busy phasing through something, so I understand how that is. But it's all part of the education, isn't it?" Truth be told, she was rather pleased with the wide variety of people she could meet at the school, including those who were fashion forward like Alcyone and Belladonna and Junko! So many possible ghoulfriends to ask about fashion tips and wardrobes...

When Alcie stepped to her left, Kasumi looked visibly relieved. "I would love it if you could help me find something else to wear. This hospital gown is ridiculously old and frankly, not very fashionable... But please, don't go out of your way to give me something of yours! I'm sure your parents dote on you whenever possible. And who wouldn't?" With a happy giggle, Kasumi gave the demoness a bow. "Again, it is a pleasure to meet you."
