Amrita was enjoying herself thus far. Her room had been set up the way she liked it, her fellow students seemed interesting, and more than that she knew she was well on her way to fixing her current body predicament. It made her a very happy girl.
Today she had decided to sit outside, finding a mostly uninhabited area just outside of the Undead dorms. The dark and broken cobblestone wall a distance from the building made the perfect seat, and the Vetala had only happily taken up space there. Her reversed hands pinned an open book to her lap, her fingers pressing against the pages while her thumbs booked around to the cover. She was reading of course, but rather slowly. Understanding the content was the most important thing!
One backwards hand lifted, tucking some stray hair behind her ear, and spared a glance upwards, looking idly around. She thought she had heard something...but then again, it could have just been the wind. Hmm.

Chuppi was sitting up in one of the trees, surprised to find herself of her own free will doing such a thing, and her small frame held itself against the massive trunk as she gazed out at the surrounding area. It had taken some trial and error to find a branch that could and would support her weight, several victims that hadn't made the grade littering the ground, and she blinked sleepily as she waiting for the sun to set. Amityville had a rather pretty sunset, even if it was hours away, and since the monster was free from classes for now she spent her time watching and waiting. No one could find her and bully her if she was hiding.
Enough time had passed in the tree that the Chupacabra was growing bored and she rubbed at her eyes with her hand in an effort to stave off the sleep; instead of helping she poked herself slightly and felt the offending orb well up with tears. A hiccup followed as the stinging increased, and soon Chuppi was actually crying at having injured herself. What kind of monster hurts themselves, really?"
"Um...mi ojo.....me duele en mi ojo. . . ."
It was apparent she was crying over her eye even if no one could understand her. Rubbing her eye and weeping were good enough signs that she was injured, and the way her voice sounded was just downright creepy! Hopefully there really wasn't anyone around to see her act so pathetic, though she wasn't exactly crying softly.
That...and the branch beneath her was starting to groan under her weight. Oh no!

Amrita was pretty sure she'd heard something. But for the longest time she couldn't see anything. She was just about to give up when she stubbed her heel on a branch on the ground. Startling, she managed to catch her balance enough to lean over to stare. Huh, falling leaves were normal, but...not branches of this size. Or so she thought.
But then she realized that she WAS hearing something. It was crying. Definitely crying. Slowly looking up, she thought she spotted someone standing on a thick branch. Her head tilted a bit, peering up with her gray eye. The creature up there was either tired or upset. Judging from the crying, upset. She just stared for a bit, until the sound of cracking caught her attention. That was a bad noise. Now she usually made it a point to not talk to anyone who wasn't a zombie without them talking first, but...this could be bad!
"U-um!" The little Vetala piped up, fidgeting with her reversed hands. "Y-you might wanna move soon! You're gonna fall!" She was being as loud as she could, waving a bit to try and get the creature's attention.

"Que?"
The monster turned her head slightly as she thought she heard a voice, though if she was debating on asking any more questions she didn't have the time to do so as the branch she was on decided to change the route it was moving in. Giving a hard groan beneath her weight the limb snapped itself off (the tree probably shrieked in pain) and Chuppi barely had any time to put all of her grip into the trunk before it left her bottom and hit the ground. Someone had been down there yelling up at her! What if they'd gotten hurt when the branch fell? Wouldn't it be Chuppi's fault? A cold drip of panic ran down her spine (and over her spines) as she tried to see amongst the settling dust, but it was just easier after all for her to let go and jump down. It was less than 20 feet in a drop, her legs could handle it, and she landed quite gracefully for someone who came plunging down like a dead weight. Chuppi had to thank all her times practicing at the track field for those.
"Are you okay!? Donde esta?! Where are you?!"
She couldn't see a thing amongst all the settling dust and leaves, but as soon as it all cleared and she was able to notice the young zombie nearby the normally cautious chupacabra made a beeline over, panic clearly written on her face.
"Did you get hurt? Did the branch get you?"
HER HEAD WAS ON BACKWARDS, OF COURSE SHE WAS HURT! Chuppi's eyes started to fill themselves with more tears, partly from the dust, but mostly because she was worried she'd hurt someone!

Amrita's jaw nearly hit the floor when the branch gave one last, loud groan before that loud snap. Oh crap! The little Vetala skittered backwards in an attempt to get away; but instead, she stubbed her toe on a patch of uneven ground. With a surprised cry she fell backwards, landing on her rear and just barely clearing the fallen tree. Of course in this case, 'barely' meant it did land on her, but only on the underside of her foot. She stared at it for a moment as the dust and leaves settled.
"Nnn...I am here!" She hissed out slowly once the pain registered with her, a little delayed as always. But it was a small amount, and most of it originated from the stubbed toe. Stupid stubbed toes! Amrita heard the voice and lifted her head to stare at the teary-eyed monster. Aww, poor thing was upset! Don't be upset, green monster thing! Wait, was she hurt? Well, yeah.
"No." She murmured anyway, lifting her knee to pull her reversed foot out from under the branch. "And yes." Answering both seemed like a good idea, and after curling her legs against herself and stood up, not bothering to dust herself off. It appeared her head was on fine; it was her hands and feet that were backwards, everything else was fine and bent as it should.
"Are you okay? Did you get hurt? Don't cry! I'm sorry!" Apologizing seemed like a good idea; the poor Green thing looked so upset!

"But....su cabeza! Su cabeza!"
It didn't occur to Chuppi that this stranger's head was just fine since she was talking, that this person was maybe naturally that way, instead she just stood there in a cold panic trying her best to hold back the flood of tears. Her hands rose to her face, Thermos forgotten for a moment or two, and she rubbed at her eyes with her palms in an effort to stave off the coming tidal waves.
"Lo siento, I'm sorry! Because of me your head is on backwards and now you can't walk straight anymore! I am supposed to be helping people, not hurting them!"
There was a hiccup but thankfully no wail or tears. Chuppi was doing her best to control herself now that she was running for office, or at least she was told in order to run for office she had to be a bit braver. No more tears, she'd been told, or at least no more tears in public. She had to put on her best face and be brave.
"Um. . . but...you . . . why are you sorry? Did you do something wrong? I should be the one saying I'm sorry, not you. I almost fell on you!"

"W-what?" Amrita stuttered out, her eye staring wide at the green monster. Her ears must have been going faster than she thought! The words the other girl sputtered didn't make sense at all! "I can't understa---Oh." Suddenly her ears cleared and there was a language she understood again. Yay!
Wait.
"My head isn't..." She murmured, staring at the other ghoul for an entirely different set of reasons now. Lifting her hands, she flexed them in front of her in a grabby hands motion. "I'm not hurt! Everything is okay, really!" Fidgeting a bit, she lifted a knee and wiggled her toes, patting herself down to see if her bones were all there. "Yeah! I'm okay, really! You didn't hurt me!" The small Vetala scratched her cheek, her fleshy cheek, and gave a little shrug.
"But...you didn't fall on me." She pointed out, her head lifted as it should but her gaze firmly planted on the ground. "And I'm making you cry..." Chewing for a moment on her bottom lip, she glanced up at the ghoul she had previously stared at.
"Um, W-What were you doing...in the tree, anyway??"

The little monster let out a sigh of relief when the other girl appeared to really be just fine, and she rubbed at her eyes (carefully) to rid herself of the coming tears. It was no good to keep crying when everything was okay, right?
"Sitting, watching the sunset. . . . .actually, hiding. I was hiding because I am supposed to be doing things to promote myself, but I don't know how. I got nervous and scared so I ran and climbed the tree. I think I hurt it too much though."
The poor tree was missing many of its limbs, not to mention there were large gouges in its bark from her fingers as she tried to climb up but kept slipping and falling down. How exactly she'd managed to climb up there anyway would all be unknown, Chupacabras weren't known for climbing things, so Chuppi just stared at her progress as well.
"I'm supposed to be getting people wanting to vote for me. I don't know anything about trying to win people over. I am not very good with people."
Chuppi was friendly enough, but she lacked the backbone to really push herself onto others.

"Oooh." The little Undead murmured in understanding, looking almost blankly between the other small ghoul and the broken tree. While she didn't speak tree, nor did she understand their complex inner workings, but she felt fairly confident when she murmured:
"I'm...sure it was happy to help, f-for a little bit." Hopefully, that would make her feel better? The rest of her problems though, she couldn't help with at all. Not one bit! In that respect, they were in the same boat. With a confused little hum, she twirled her hair around a finger, looking to the side.
"W-well...just...do what you can?" She suggested, nibbling lightly on her lower lip. After a moment or two she looked back at the Chupacabra, finally offering a little smile. "I-I'm here, you could...um...practice on me...?"

"P...pr...practice on you? Do...do you really mind?"
With her companion stuttering it only served to make Chuppi stutter as well, the little monster squeezing her hands together to the point she was certain she would break one of her fingers if the tightness of her grip continued. Her face was flushed with embarrassment, her small cheeks a darker shade of green, but her eyes were clear if not a little misty still. It made her happy that someone was willing to help her learn her speeches but there was a small bit of trouble.
Chuppi had no idea what it is she wanted to say. That thought alone made her even more nervous and she exhaled sharply, her hands raised up to her face. Maybe she should just make it up as she went.
"I. . . vot....ah, I don't have the confidence for this. I just wanted to make friends, to have everyone happy. I wanted all of us to be able to go to school and not worry, you know? I don't know if I can help people like I want, I'm selfish. . . "

"I...I don't mind!" She assured the other ghoul once more, and then set to waiting for the promised speech to be practiced on her.
Nobody could really blame her for thinking Chuppi's next words were her actual speech.
"Uhm...That...That's a good, uhm, start?" Amrita faltered a bit; the beginning part was good and it made sense to her, but the last part...not so much. Still, how should she tell the Chupacabra that? "M-maybe leave out that l-last part...? I mean, uhm, if you want to...you know, make friends and...and stuff...you should..." The Vetala was fidgeting, playing with a piece of her dark hair over her shoulder, "Try to, uhm, help them, at least...? I-I don't think it's, ah, selfish, to want friends..."
