It had been the most interesting detention he had ever had. And if you could only trust Nukpana once in your entire life, he'd have it be this time, because he'd had a LOT of detentions. But this one... this one took the cake.

Upon swinging open that squeaky, rusted door and taking his first over-confident step into that bathroom, he should have known it was not going to be the regular 'pretend-you're-cleaning-until-you-can-sneak-out' bit. For one, there was a soap dragon hissing at the group of terrified students, and a bucket on Calder's head, (The latter was a plus, in his book.) If he'd had any good sense at all, he would have turned around and never looked back, and might have escaped the entire mess that was to come. But the skinwalker was not known for having a lick of good sense, and instead he'd gone charging into the bathroom with a wild, perhaps slightly maniacal grin plastered to his face, gold glowing eyes practically flashing with the eagerness to fight. It was the best detention ever! Even after he'd broke his broom on the first swing. He was jammin, swinging and punchin gnomes right and left, right up until the last one fell. Hell, even when everyone else had collapsed from the stench, he had still been standing, ready to escape with Shehk in his arms (which he was confident the rescue would come with some 'oh-Nuk-my-hero-let-me-thank-you-for-saving-me' kisses.)

That was... until he fell through the floor. ...Yeah, that was kind of when his glee was seriously harshed.

As old as the bathroom was, and as hard as they'd been on it during the fight, there must have been a weak point in the tile. A harsh crack filled the air, the sound of splitting tile slicing through the near silence of the bathroom, and Nuk's lower body had disappeared into the cataclysm that had opened up below him, threatening to suck him into the black abyss. A look of pure surprise flashed across his face at that exact moment, fingers scrambling for purchase on the ledge, clawing at it desperately in an attempt to pull himself back up. No such luck. Staring at Shehk's body laying just a few feet away (SOOO CLOOOSE) he slid the rest of the way into the hole, falling into the labyrinth of the lower basement. Victory had been snatched from his grasp.

Which ticked him off to no end.

~~~
Two hours later.
Nuk shoved open the door to the other bathroom once more, his eyes darting back and forth around expectantly, as if he'd seriously thought another battle would have started up in his absence. The nearly-empty bathroom was all that greeted him, the only living souls around the few students still laying comatose from the toxic fumes. The skinwalker's body visibly relaxed a little, muscles unclenching a bit from the fight-response he had been ready to use, instead focusing on scanning the bathroom a little more thoroughly. It didn't take too long to locate what he was looking for.
Crossing the bathroom in a few long strides, (and making a wiiiiide circle around the hole he'd fallen through before,) Nuk knelt by the Pricolici's unconscious form, scooping her up into his arms and briskly exiting the bathroom (before anything else could threaten to ruin his moment of triumph.)
That had been the worse first detention everrr, if Shehk's opinion on the matter had meant anything at that moment. However, it seemed between bleach and having already been sick from the default smell of the bathroom and the EPIC SOAPSLIMEMONSTERRRRRthing (she couldn't really recall because she was out cold) she'd been destined to just be floored by the situation. Quite literally, at that.
In fact, it was no surprise she'd stayed down for as long as she had, pretty much a good ol' ragdoll for Nukpana to scoop up when he did get to make his daring rescue and event continuing to stay out long enough for him to whisk her off to...wherever..it was he was taking her. But either way, it was only some time after the bathroom-escape that the Pricolici had even stirred from her state of dead-to-the-world (well, she already -was-, but ..yeah, pun is confused), shifting, seeming to realize she was moving.. and then ..
...
...
immediately panicking, jerking up into a half-sitting-up position in Nuk's arms while screaming something along the lines of;
"I DON'T WANT TO BE A GNOME-GOD-SACRIFICE!"
...
..... Apparently not really realizing who was carrying her before she made her random outbursts hadn't been high on her priority list, having continued this mild panic before she looked to Nuk... and her ears drooped a bit (in shame or not liking the alternative to the gnome-god sacrifice?), before seeming to wilt, half-bumping her head against his shoulder pathetically.
She'd just try to not get too clingy in her woe.. as it hadn't really struck her at full-force yet. But it would. OooOooh it would.
They made no noise as the pair made their way down the hall, one held in the arms of the other, Nuk's bare feet completely silent against the tile floor. Things were beginning to look brighter and less dirty with every step away from the bathroom -- the tile was less grimy with each step, the walls not sporting nearly as much sludge and slimy hand prints from where students had stumbled away. Even the lighting was better, with fewer and fewer dark patches to darken the mood, as if the school itself realized you were far more safe the farther away you got. So by the time Shehk awoke, things were not nearly as grim as they had been a few moments earlier, the two having nearly reached the emergency exit that would take them outside and into the bright sunlight.
Nuk glanced down at the pricolici as he noticed her start to stir, flicking glowing amber eyes down to her face tucked neatly against his chest. Briefly he wondered how she would respond, waking up after just being rescued -- his mind had already played over a few scenes as he had been walking. She'd shift a little in his arms, sliding her moonlight eyes open to stare up at him, first in awe and then in gratitude. Maybe even blush a little... oh that'd be cute. She'd wrap her arms around his neck and say something along the lines of "Oh Nuk, thank you for saving me, I'll gladly be your girlfriend!" Then he'd bend over, and she'd be so swept up in the moment she might not even hit him for kissing her... Grinning a bit at his own fantasy, he slowed his stride a bit, ready for the thanks and kisses.
What he got was an elbow to the face.
"OOOFF, ow, SHEHK, OW I'M NOT GOING TO SACRIFICE YOU TO ANY JACKING GNOMES!"
Stumbling back a bit, the skinwalker blinked a few times as he regained his balance, initially stunned by the blow. If he hadn't already been used to swings like that, he might have dropped her as she struggled a bit in his arms -- as it was, he tightened his grip slightly on her smaller body, making sure she didn't fall. Well that was... not exactly the response he had hoped for. Still, upon noticing the look on her face, his disappointment quickly faded. Ducking into a mostly unused hallway, he stopped to put her down slowly, sitting her against the wall and crouching just in front of her, his brow furrowed.
She looked really upset. More upset than he'd ever seen her before... and being angry at him didn't count. No, this was genuine distress, and it in turn was having an effect on him as well. He felt like going to punch something.
"... you ok?"
PostPosted: Sat Nov 06, 2010 8:36 am
Yeah, if Nukpana had been expecting some sort of 'normal' reaction from Shehk, he was about to get struck, full force, with something a lot worse than anybody ever got to see out of the Pricolici. The gunk from that bathroom made her slightly sticky, so when she tried to peel an arm away from the wall, it just succeeded and ripping paint off of it. Her tail was starting to be matted from the disgusting mess she'd been stuck in. She smelt like filth and bleach and....
she started to shake. Her hands were the first obvious sign of it as she looked over the disaster she was upon stirring. Oh candlejack, it hadn't been a horrible nightmare of some sort. She'd really been in some sort of disgusting bathroom and battled gnomes and slime monsters and f;asdfkhasdfajsdf;lkasdfhasd;fljk.
Brain function, ceased.
For a brief moment, Shehk tried to 'fix' her tail, brushing her fingers through it pathetically and only succeeding in ripping some nice chunks of fur out of it... but her panic was so that she didn't even wince at it (and she was capable of feeling it, undead or not). However, it didn't really succeed in doing more than making it an even greater mess.
There was nothing she could do.
By this point, her distressed shaking was at that point where even the most oblivious man wouldn't have been able to miss it. There was this struggle to try and even chain together one word (which mostly came out as chopped up syllables that said nothing), and every motor still she had with her extremities failed for the most part.
Panic finally set in.
And with the panic came tears, Shehk looking at Nukpana as though she just didn't know what to do with herself... so she tried to do the only thing she'd probably have any success at achieving.
She grabbed for the skinwalker and started to sob.
For a few minutes he sat there, attention focused acutely on Shehk, perfectly still except for his expression, which was shifting between curiosity and worry every few seconds. Which was actually quite comical, if you were in any sort of mood to be amused by it. Which... at this point, Shehk was probably not in, at the moment. In fact, by the way she was reacting, he didn't think she was going to yell at him either, which was almost just as worrisome as anything else. They had a system: she would play hard to get, he would chase her. It might not have been the most ideal system for HIM, but it worked, and if he was perfectly honest with himself, he kinda liked it that way. He liked who she was -- if she gave in too easily, it wouldn't be Shehk, and he was sure he wouldn't like her half as much.
She was just... her.
And this was very unlike her.
Which bothered him a great deal.
Nuk shifted a bit from where he was crouched, slipping down onto a knee and moving just a bit closer, his eyes flicking down to where her hands were shaking. There was a crease between his eyes where his eyebrows had set even more so into a firm expression, and yet at the same time he tilted his head just slightly to the side, as if confused by it. Which he was. It was only when she started to try to smooth out her tail, and by consequence start pulling out some fur, that he really started to grasp the severity of the situation, his eyes flicking back up to her eyes, where ... wait... was she going to cry...?
".... Shehk....?" He started, the sound hesitant, like he wasn't sure what to do. Oh god, not the crying. He hated it when girls cried. Not because he felt any remorse making most people cry -- if you were a dude and you cried, it was license for swirlies and trashcanning every day. But for girls it was different. He couldn't punch girls for crying like he could guys. Well, he couldn't hit girls at all (although he would never admit that aloud and would avidly deny it if accused of being soft) But in not being able to punch them, he had no idea WHAT to do. What were you supposed to do when they cried? Stand there? They'd cry harder! Put your arm around them? They'd hit you! So it was either awkward or painful, no matter what you did. Either way, Nuk didn't like it. So, while it was the more a*****e way to go, he usually just... walked away. Hey, no one claimed he was a nice guy.
Unfortunately, it was Shehk. And he'd be damned if he was just going to walk away from her.
Reaching for the hand messing with her tail, the Skinwalker cleared his throat, swallowing down the awkwardness and covering her hand with his own, trying to still the motion. "Hey, Shehk, don't worry about how you look, ok? I don't care that you're covered in slime," he offered, not realizing how awful that sounded. He was TRYING to be comforting. That was something, right? Still, thoughtful or not, when she finally looked up at him, tears threatening to spill over, Nuk knew things were going to get worse before they got better. And that's when she grabbed him.
Oh hell... what was he supposed to do?
For a few dazed seconds, Nuk didn't move, the hamster completely spinning off the wheel in his brain. But after the moment passed, he slowly leaned forward, shifting to sit down fully in front of her and wrap his arms gently around her shoulders, stroking her hair slowly and trying to say soothing things, a little, unknown and usually unused (or he tried not to use it, anyway) part of his chest feeling crushed.
"It's ok babe... it's ok."
PostPosted: Sat Nov 06, 2010 8:06 pm
Honestly, she wasn't going to get mad at him for reminding her she was covered in filth and gross. She was too busy panicking that she was herself. However, she'd have to keep from plucking her tail clean of fur if she was going to have her tail be pretty ever again. Either way, she sort of leaned against Nukpana (gasp, of her own free will, even!), burying her fingers into his pelt (which was probably not as gross as she was, as he hadn't been laying on the floor of a bathroom for......s**t, she didn't even know how long she'd been there) and half-nuzzling her face against his neck.
Honestly, if someone would have walked by right then and snapped a picture, it would have looked very scandalous and probably been circulating the next day or something that the pair had been all...'snuggly' or something. Really, Shehk would later probably pass off the 'close' ness on her part because of her emotional weakness.
Not that she was planning that far ahead.
She was too busy cycling through mental scenerios of how BECAUSE SHE'D LET HERSELF GET THIS WAY SHE WAS GOING TO DIE. Well, sort of. It was similar enough that her paranoia probably would have meant nothing to someone else. She wasn't just an undead. She was an undead monster. She'd failed herself once before.And she'd died for it. She had to take care of herself!
She didn't have anymore chances (she didn't even want to consider that technically she did, but none the less).
Either way, Shehk settled against the skinwalker, sniffling a bit, but at least seeming to have been kept from full-blown panicked waterworks. Which while they were still a possibility, she wasn't just breaking down into a huge mess.
"How many showers do you think it will take to get rid of the Eau de Bathroom?" she asked. Quietly, but.. given that Nukpana had gotten into the bathroom AFTER the puking on her part, it was probably safe to assume she probably shouldn't have kept herself smelling like it really long. Either way, she seemed to, with a small (albeit forced) chuckle, add; "I'm sure this smells weirder than you first said I did."
SHE WAS TRYING TO FIND SILVER LINING OF DISTRACTION. Really hard.
Helplessness was not a fun feeling, Nuk was figuring out. He'd never really had much experience with it, being the one usually initiating the trouble that would make one feel helpless to begin with, but with Shehk clinging to him now, he was certainly experiencing it, and he was certainly not liking it. Stroking and smoothing out her hair, he tried to think of something to say that might make her feel better, but nothing came, and for once in almost his entire life he cursed his bully lifestyle. Being cheered up by a bully was like cuddling with a bear -- even if they were UP to cuddling, there was still a chance they could hurt you by accident. Nuk liked being a bear, in both respects, but for once he wished he could turn into something small and fuzzy. Girls liked small fuzzy things, right?
... then again, Shehk ate small fuzzy things. Perhaps it was for the best.
Glancing down at the sniffling form in his arms, Nuk quirked an eyebrow as he heard the half-muffled sound of the Pricolici asking him something, craning his neck down a bit to hear a little better. At first he was a little worried, mistaking that small, muffled chuckle as a sob, and he squeezed her just a little tighter before realizing she was trying to make light of the situation.
"Hey, you smell better than most of the girls at this school, so don't even think about it," he replied firmly, and, after a moment, offered her a devious grin, "Want me to beat up some gnomes? I can do it. Say the word, and me 'n everyone I know'll find every single bloody gnome in the whole school and bury them up to their necks."
It was hard to tell if he was serious or not. Although knowing Nuk, he was probably very, very serious.
PostPosted: Fri Nov 12, 2010 5:20 pm
Yeah, this would have been that moment where a camera or something was supposed to crop up and make Shehk need to kill someone for like.. tabloid-ing her life. Not that she'd ever suspect such a thing until evidence of it was thrust into her face, but still. It was like a perfect camera-op.
"Yeah, but...right now most of the girls don't also..stick......." she said it with this -voice- that was made obviously because she was trying to pry her head off of the skinwalker's shoulder... and was somewhat failing because of the stuff from the bathroom. In fact, it took enough effort that she nearly bonked her head against Nuk's... or rather... she did bonk her head against his, though she did pause to at least offer a kiss where she'd thwacked him.
THAT MADE IT BETTER, RIGHT?
However, the offer to beat up the gnomes earned an equally devious grin from Shehk when it was brought up. Ohhh yes, she definitely liked where that was going! It was probably the most devious look she'd ever gotten on her face in his presence. The rest were probably either annoyed or ready to slug her snuggle-buddy (though the 'snuggling' was coming to an end as she was trying to at least get into a less 'I'll just sleep here' position).
"No. No beating up gnomes." she paused. "At least not until I've had a chance to clean up so I can come too." the grin just got wider and wider as she spoke. Oh, she could just imagine it now. "And I think punting them at the lake would be funner than burying them. Then again, I'm sure there are enough gnomes around to get creative with it."
Heeeeeeee.
Yeah, he'd totally just succeeded in giving her a mental image worth cheering up over.
"Kinky," came Nuk's amused reply, a grin spreading across his features as she mentioned that at the moment she was sticky. He didn't actually think about it before he said it, but even if he had he probably would have said it anyway, which was just as bad, really. However, karma's divine retribution was swift today -- not a few seconds after he said it, the top of Shehk's head slammed under his jaw, knocking his head back and stunning the deserving skinwalker, his eyes blinking a few times slowly as he tried to recover. She sure packed a punch sometimes, and he got the feeling that it was always not on purpose. This was only reinforced by the brush of lips against his jaw a second later, his entire body going slightly stiff for a second, a shiver running all the way up his spine, and if he could have made it so, there would have been a little heart above his head. At the very least, there was a stupid grin on his face.
There were perks to being a nice guy, he was finding.
It took a few minutes, but they finally detached a little more and Nuk recovered from his 'reward,' the skinwalker letting go of Shehk's shoulders as they separated. He was sad the moment hadn't lasted longer, but all in all the Pricolici was looking much happier, (AND HE'D GOTTEN A KISS,) which in the end was definitely a satisfactory ending. Quirking an eyebrow at her when she said 'no beating up gnomes,' the questioning look quickly turned into a smirk as she added that they should be punted, looking devious once more.
"Double points if you make them spin as they soar into the lake," he replied with a low, gravelly snicker.
He didn't add that she was getting just as bad as he was, and that he must be rubbing off on her.
PostPosted: Thu Nov 25, 2010 11:16 am
Yeah, she had sort of expected the 'dumb look on face' from the apology-smooch she'd planted on him (For someone not interested in the skinwalker, she sure kissed him a lot. Hmm). However, once it was time to get up (since she was no longer cemented to the skinwalker by bathroom-ooze. Yuk!), Shehk took another long moment to frown at the amount of gross she had on her.
Yeah, she was going to need to just sit in the shower for like..eight hours later that evening if she wanted to feel clean again without scrubbing her skin off. (It didn't help that her undead flesh, while healing, took forever to heal. She wasn't as special as a full-bonifide-vampire.) It didn't help that her clothing was trying to stick TO ITSELF and she was bound to rip her shirt again in the near future.
Since she was still having to wear Emily's little shawl-thingie due to the ripped-off-chest of her shirt. That had been horrible.
"Honestly, I'd be happy if I could get 'em to fly more than ten feet. I'm not exactly skilled at throwing things." she said as she rose to her feet again, pausing as she swooned a bit once up, reaching out to grab a locker and grab her head with the other.
Between smacking her head into Nuk's jaw and breathing in way too much bathroom-filt, she was going to be walking like a drunk until she had some fresh air. But at least she was able to walk at all!
"Ugh... I should really take a shower... I don't want to be seen in public in any form smelling like..." she paused, crinkling her nose, before practically fainting into the locker she was using to support herself with.
... It was that bad, apparently.
Nuk watched Shehk like a hawk, his gold eyes following her every movement as she readied herself to get up, ready just in case something happened, whether physical or emotional. Surprisingly, despite everything that had happened, his vision of her being a strong, competent, sexy girl hadn't wavered, (although perhaps his possessiveness had gone up a notch or two. There might be a few gnomes with bruises come Moonday morning.) In fact, he honestly didn't blame her for feeling shook up about the entire detention ordeal, where in other situations and with other people he certainly would have -- he'd been through many detentions in his short, young life, and beyond a doubt this one took the cake, shaking up even him. Battling there, while it had been a blast at first, had been a close encounter even for him, barely escaping the smog that had knocked out so many of his classmates, only to fall through the floor into the labyrinth for TWO PLUS HOURS. No, he definitely did not blame her.
It was with this sentiment that he watched her so carefully, reaching forward to grab her elbow as she swooned and making sure she was steady before shoving his hands in his pockets again, replying to her comment with just a tinge of intrigue laced into his voice. (He didn't even bother responding to the shower comment... he didn't trust himself with THAT one.)
"I could teach you."
That might be interesting. In fact, he loved this idea, and in two seconds flat a devilish smirk was curling the corners of his lips, his eyes glittering with the thought. Any excuse to possibly have to be really close to help her position her body right was fine by him. In any sense that could be taken.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 28, 2010 11:01 pm
... Yeah, she totally knew where his brain had gone when he'd said that. He'd imagined her back pressed against his chest and her looking at him with some sort of lost-helpless expression while he kept his big strong arms around her. Yeah, that'd totally what he imagined. Give or take with the way she was thinking about the whole thing, she thought he imagined it with clothing ON.
That was up to debate. She wasn't going to go there though.
Instead, she just leaned against the lockers and quirked a brow at him, a slight smile tugging at one corner of her lips. Oh, he was up to something with that offer, now wasn't he? HE WAS AND SHE KNEW IT. Not that her suspicious face was very effective. Yeah.. It looked more interested, sadly.
"Really now?" she inquired, pushing herself into a more-standing position to attempt to give him the leer-down. "And when would we have the sort of time for that?" There was a slight hand gesture when she finished her thought, before leaning back against the locker (mostly to try and recompose herself, though).
"It's not like I can skimp out on my practices to do something like that."
So much physical activity! She'd probably be exhausted on any normal day of that stuff planned.
Ah, she was on to him. Nuk attempted his most serious innocent-face, lifting his eyebrows as if she was crazy to think HE of all people would think something so devious as whatever it was she was giving him that look for. In fact, if he was any more theatrical about it, it might have clutched a hand to his chest and looked around, as if looking for another person that she might be giving this suspicious look to, because it could NEVER be him. He would never think anything remotely naughty about Shehk... which was actually partially true, not because he couldn't or didn't want to, but because he feared she would slap him and never speak to him again. She had psychic powers, he could tell -- just from that ONE BRIEF THOUGHT she was giving him that look, if that wasn't proof he didn't know what was.
Although she did look just a teenie bit interested~
Trying not to grin as he saw his opening, the skinwalker looked away for a second, pretending to ponder this seriously before taking a step forward to bring himself closer to her, resting one palm against the locker by her head. "Hmmm, well how about this," he started slowly, unable to keep his grin back any longer, "You go on a date with me, and I'll teach you then. Lets say... Frightday, eight pm. I'll pick you up in front of your building."
Smooth. Real smooth.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 28, 2010 11:44 pm
Oh joy, there was that ever-so-not-wanted lean-against-lockers move. Shehk leaned back, making a point to keep her face as far away from his as was possible for her, though the expression that had looked 'interested' before now looked a bit more on the 'annoyed' side of things. Though it was a little bit of a 'pretend' annoyed on her part.
The Pricolici reached out with one hand, kneading her fingers into the pelt the skinwalker wore about his shoulders, pausing before doing the same with her other hand as well. Yeah, fur-texture-lover right there. Then again, it was probably something to do with the fact that she was more enjoying the fact that flesh wasn't..entirely with downsides.
It was after a moment of this 'consideration' that her own idea struck her. If Nuk wanted a date, she wasn't just going to hand it over to him.
Truly, that would have been relationship-suicide. Nope, she'd continue her little play of 'hard to get', grinning ever-so-slightly. Fufu.
"How about instead...." she trailed off and quirked a brow. "Student Council elections will be rolling about soon. If you get on the council, you'll get your date. However, if you get on the council..." ...Yesss...? "If you get on the council, I will go on a date with you and I will kiss you." to emphasize this, she stopped her distracted kneading with one hand and pressed a (relatively clean, given the sliming) finger against Nukpana's lips. "Full. On. The. Mouth."
Clearly, she had no idea what the skinwalker would do with such a hefty-offer (or even if having to work for it would interest him. Then again, she was trying to lure him out of pursuing her). But hey, that was her offer.
"Unless you think you can't manage that."
