What gets you in the 'mood' to play it?

I mostly play because of the silence. If I like wanna play a game were there is no fancy battle music and just want silence or something. That is mostly what drives me to play. Other wise it wouldn't be Silent Hill for me...It would be Loud Hill or something! xd

I have to be calm-and it also depends on the day, if it's
a cloudy, rainy, dark.. you get the idea.
But yeah, what Skylar said- it's quiet.

to be honest when Im playing through I casually dont get scared,
I feel a sense of calming. As you guys said, its quiet. and the fact that the fog is every where and when your inside its dark and distorted, I dont know why but I find it to be a sort of "Zen" for me.
