It'd been days since Celile met with the cheetah that reminded her how horrid her life was. Her brow sunk low across her eyes as she clumsily stalked across the dormant grass of the savannah. Dirt and mud stained her paws, her face, her tail... But Celile didn't care. As much as she hated having a less-than-gorgeous coat, she hated her memories even more. Walking - or hobbling, rather - endlessly helped her take her mind off of it - giving her the illusion she was getting farther and farther away from it all.

The sun was effortlessly gliding across the sky, just like yesterday. The clouds were sparse, like they always were in this part of the earth. Already the birds were nestling away in the safety of their branches and nests as they prepared for the dawn. Every time a memory flickered across her mind, Celile snarled. What could possibly settle her mood now? A lion always had that magical effect on her, but she hadn't scented one in weeks.

Something would happen. Something always managed to leap into her path and sweep her away from reality... But Celile was getting impatient. She let her green eyes gaze across the Savannah. Anything yet? Nope, nothing. Just that girlish leopard in the distance.

Dysi was out walking, searching for something. He wasn't sure what he was looking for, but he just needed to keep moving. He wasn't used to staying still, and after becoming a father (multiple times), he was starting to become more stationary. It was...odd. He was starting to feel old at times. His eldest was all grown up and out on her own already and it was such a crazy feeling to see her walk away from him, no longer part of his life.

He frowned a little, his pace slow and leisurely. He was in no rush, he had no where to be and he only needed to be back within the pridal boundaries within a day or so. A personal choice, since disliked staying away from his babies for days at a time anymore. He was over that part, it seemed.

A flash of colour caught his eye and he turned, a small frown still playing on his face but it fell away at the sight of a rather beautiful looking leopardess in the distance. Her colours were rather startling and eye-catching. He smiled, as he made his way towards her. As he got closer, he called out a greeting, wondering if she would acknowledge him.

The leopardess let out a little sigh as the male spotted her and began his approach. She was in no mood to be social, but it wouldn't kill to humor him for a moment at least.

She nodded towards him, showing off her lazy grin. "Hello there... Fellow rogue I assume?" Teal paws felt the earth carefully as she made her way towards him... Then suddenly, she slid her rump to the earth with a plop and curled her tail around her paws. She'd wait for him to come to her. She didn't feel like explaining her crippled leg, anyway. Celile could only hope the male didn't notice her subtle limp.

As Dysi's form became more detailed, Celile couldn't help but think how beautiful he was. So well groomed, and an almost glittering white hue. Just like her former mate used to be before she left him in the dirt with their small cubs. It was horrible, Celile would admit that, but the thought amused her. Immensely.

Dysi approached the female, not bothered that he would have to do the work to come to her. He was perfectly happy to continue to stretch his legs as he worked, but as he came closer, the smile on his face grew. Wow, she was a very pretty female. Her colours were rather stunning, even from a distance, but from up close it was even more beautiful.

"You could say that," Dysi said in response, a bit of a crooked tilt to his smile. He didn't really feel like explaining that he was actually part of a pride, just a bit of a wanderer. After all, it was far too complicated and he didn't really feel like having a complicated conversation. He just wanted some light-hearted fun.

"Are you a wanderer like me, or do you live around here?" He asked calmly, before adding. "Oh, and forgive my manners, I am Dysini'mbus, but please call me Dysi." He told her, the smile still on his face.

Celile nodded in response to Dysi's inquisition. "I'm a wandereh, too. It's always been tha' way, an' I don' intend on settling any time soon..."

The teal feline warmed considerably as the other revealed his name. He seemed to be quick to trust, this comorted the girl for some reason. Perhaps just because the lions who had something to hide just made her uncomfortable - especially when the secret is something as useless as a name.

"Dysini'mbus? I've never heard a name like tha' one before." Celile offered her own crooked grin. It was a lie, the leopardess has heard countless names, but none of them had any uniqueness to them. Names weren't important to her, anyway. "I'm called Celile."

Dysi smiled at her. The way she talked was a little odd, but it was endearing. She seemed rather sweet too, and she shared a mentality that he had. "Ah, wandering is such a joy," he mused. Though he had settled in a pride, he had never felt...content to sit around and do nothing, especially when that 'do nothing' involved watching his love consort with another male.

"Some may say I've settled, since I have a pride to call my own, but I spend more time wandering then settled, so I don't think that's true," he said with a small laugh. He wasn't sure why he revealed that to her, perhaps out of need for someone to understand that he wasn't settled and that he was still a wanderer at heart.

"A pleasure to meet you Ceclile," Dysi said politely and bowed his head. He wasn't lying, it was a pleasure to meet her, but he said it often to people so the words had lost their meaning slightly.

The female inspected Dysi as he explained his situation. Her expression blank as she tried to comprehend his logic... Then briefly wondered if she should share her own history. No, even if the new male could be trusted with that fragile secret, Celile couldn't risk the trees or birds listening in. Though they appeared to have no ears, they could be deceiving that way. In the company of a tree, Celile could hear them whisper behind her back. The instant she turned around, they hushed. They were sharing secrets, developing rumors, probably murmuring about her disability. One of the many reasons Celile hated trees.

Once Dysi was through, Celile gave him an amused scoff. "Why would yeh ever claim a pride when yeh have the opportunity teh..." Celile paused, as if searching for more appealing words than 'wander'. "... See the world. Aren't yeh afraid they migh' force yeh teh stay?"

Though there was a flare of curiosity somewhere within her, her voice and expression certainly didn't show it. It was just a habit... a lifestyle she acquired over many years of concealment.

Dysi tilted his head to the side, gazing passed her at nothing in particular as he thought. Why? Well, at first, it was for Nyoka - his love- but now she was not his. He wondered skeptically if she ever was. He shook his head, returning his gaze to the female who stood before him now. He pushed aside all thoughts of the other female who tried to crowd his thoughts.

"I don't remember," he said simply, with a shrug. "It seemed like a clever plan at the time. And now?... Well, you never know what the future will hold, do you? Ideas in the past never seem as brilliant in the present." He chuckled. He knew well why he chose the pride he did, and he knew well why he stayed but it was none of this female's business.

"Is that what you hope to do? See the world?" He asked, trying to deflect the conversation from himself.

For a moment Celile let her apathetic mask falter as she seemed genuinely impressed by the thoughts Dysi just shared. This was something she wasn't able to do for a long time, particularly not with the bulky thick-headed lions she spends so much time 'with'. She collected reassurance and an odd sense of kinship from Dysi's words.

"Not exactleh... I don' appreciate nature or sights or... socializing... as much as some felines do. Meh goal is teh escape teh world. It's far-fetched, I know. But as long as meh paws keep moving it seems like a possibility."

He was surprised at her words. He had expected some simple curiousity for the world's wonders to be the driving force behind her wandering, but to escape? That was almost a somber idea, something that was sad instead of a jovial plan for a wanderer to want.

"Escape the world?" He repeated, not belittling the idea, simply curious over it, before he tagged on a friendly, "but if you escape, then you deprive the world of your presence and that would be a tragedy, Celile." and he wasn't lying. He had always been, and probably would always be a social creature and although she was not as bubbly as those he had met, she was a fascinating companion for the time being.

If Celile wasn't so used to hearing such a compliment, she might have blushed, giggled a little and thanked him for it. But the leopardess only expressed a smug grin as she cautiously rose to her paws - the cripple in her hind leg becoming painfully obvious. If this leopard was as sensitive as he seemed to be, Celile was confident he wouldn't bug her about it.

"I find yer presence quite appealing as well mister... Dysi." She turned, green eyes quickly flicking over the savannah before returning to meet his feminine gaze. "Let's ge' a little more comfortable. I dunno 'bout yeh, but I'm not fond of sittin' on stones." Without waiting for a response, Celile limped towards the makeshift 'den' she'd spotted. A thicket sheltered with bramble and soft, moist leaves.

Dysi smile dwarmly at her at her returning 'compliment'. He had caught sight of her crippled hind leg but had barely taken notice of it. It was not something that would make Dysi uncomfortable, because she barely seemed to notice it herself, so why should he make a big fuss over it? It seemed stupid to get caught up on appearances, when Dysi had always hated people making fun of his girly appearance, so he would make no comment of the cripple in the female's leg.

He was pleased when she suggested moving to another spot, getting to his feet and following her. "A wonderful idea, Celile," he said, a faint purr to his words. His pace was slow, not only to keep up with her limp but also because he was in no rush.

Reaching the make-shift den, he allowed her to enter first, before following behind. The thicket was comfortable, more so than the rocks, and perfect for private conversations. He was pleased to have found some company for a while, and one as interesting and rather beautiful as Celile? Well he counted himself very lucky.
