so, a couple weeks ago, right before our first parade, one of the senior tubas was helping some people (btw we practice in the upper parking lot cuz we compete in parade, not field shows or whatever) with marching and such, and his sousa was on the ground, kinda off to the side (IN the parking spaces) i'm down with the guard, and all of a sudden our coach screams "you just ran over an instrument!!!" and i look around and theres a white pickup next to where the sousa was...and the driver of the truck...was the
vice principle's senior, jock son!!!!! me and my friend were really sad, but we didn't even know what happened...then they brought it down to our bd's truck, and it was
completely flat on the section with the keys. then after practice, the rest of the tubas learned "taps" and had a tuba funeral.
then this week was homecoming, and that game is the only one where we actually do a halftime show, but its usually super simple, one song, etc. but this year...we did a show called "Tribute to a Tuba" and we actually started in a form of a sousaphone (not that anyone could really tell since our bleachers aren't high enough haha) and played a funeral march for a few bars, then went into "Money" by pink floyd...because we want Mr. Wheat's (the vice principle) money and made a dollar sign
biggrin oh and its on youtube if anyone wants to watch it haha
