The Story This is a time of Myth and Legend. Elves hide deep within endless forests that stretch across continents, Dwarves mine deep into the mountains, Dragons rule the skies ... or, dragons did rule the skies. Mankind, once sparse and small, has grown into a greedy beast. Men have forced the Immortal Beings into hiding, and have killed many of the old kinds. Dragons, unexpecting of men's greed, were the first hit, and the hardest. They had trusted men, sharing gold and the secrets of magic, only to be betrayed and slaughtered near down to the last egg. The remaining survivors have fled deep into the Wilds and seclusion, the last of a once great race. But from this slaughter six immortal humans were borne, because they'd each eaten a still-living dragon's heart, the muscle still beating and warm as they committed a sin as damning as the eating of the forbidden fruit. Years have past. The six immortal men have each erected a kingdom and, over time, they've gone to war with one another. Now, hundreds of years later, and only two rulers remain. There are those that search out the dragons, however, aiming to get the gift of immortality for themselves so that they could have the strength to kill the two remaining rulers, because the immortal men have twisted into tyrants over the endless years. Forcing their countries to war after war in an endless struggle for dominance that has lasted since the first dieing dragon gave it's death-cry.

The Characters I'm looking for this RP to contain a dragon and a human. I don't mind being either, but the main 'set up' as I think it will probably be will be the human seeking out the dragon. The dragon will (as in most of the RPs I've found) be able to use magic to disguise itself/transform into a human. It will also live far away from most small villages/ human habitations. The human will be seeking out the dragon. The relationship can either be seme/uke or seke/seke.

The Rules 1. Attempt to write with literacy. Spell check, acceptable grammar (I'm not a Nazi), and a length that both describes and gives good attempts at ... well, story telling. 2. Don't disappear. Really. Give a heads-up for absences that last more than a day. There's nothing more despised than a person who just drops a RP without a word. Tell me if you get bored and want to move on to another RP without me. Please. Really; I don't mind being left; just tell me your leaving. 3. Title the PM 'Legend?' with your character profile filled out. Add the word dragon at the top or bottom of the PM to show you read the rules. 4. Have fun. Talk to me Out Of Character with [], {}, or (()) if you want to add a comment, make a suggestion, etc. 5. Pretty posts or not pretty posts ... whatever you prefer. Name: Small Personality/Bio: Just whatever comes to mind at how you feel your character will be. I feel that I'd rather learn about a character though posts than profiles. The Cast Name: Celestias Apalala Small Personality/Bio: Celestias tends to stay submerged in water, whereas the few other dragons continuously move throughout the forest, not wanting to be found by the dreaded humans. Celestias is a rather timid dragon who prefers to stay in human form in case someone wanders by in search of his kind. He is more of a sweet and gentle creature and would rather run than fight. Looks: Name: Luke Castu Small Personality/Bio: Luke was taken in by a small temple of worship when he was young, and has grown to view the world in a slightly ... narrow viewpoint. It is his belief that the two kings now are wicked, it's true, but he also has a slight mistrust of magic. But, after a seemingly 'god sent revelation' by one of the older priests, Luke is now on a quest to "obtain a dragon's heart and to restore peace to the land by balancing the order of things yet again," however in the world he'll do that though, the young journeying priest can only guess as he goes farther and farther from home ... "Three gold pieces and this beauty is yours!" The old merchant exclaimed, licking at his gums.
Luke looked doubtfully from the golden medallion to the traveling seller, and back again, wondering why he had stopped to speak to the older man in the first place. "Sir, I'm sure that necklace is nice, but--" I don't need jewelry.
"Boy, my boy," the old man laughed, interrupting the blond priest, "I know you feel you have no need for such a trinket, but as any good dragon-seeker knows, things are not always what they seem. This--" the old man shook the medallion, the gold coin at the end of the necklace swinging to-and-fro, "--is a draein."
Luke fought the urge to turn and run away right there. Even if he had run, his heavy pack probably would've weighed him down enough for the merchant to chase him down. The old man had already proved to be quite healthy judging by the volume of his voice ... and slightly deaf, of pretending to be to Luke's pleas at leaving.
The younger man only sighed. "And why would I need something like that, Sir?"
The merchant chuckled to himself. "For catching a dragon of course. No one comes out to these parts except to catch dragons, though no one's had any sort of luck with tat in the last few centuries!" He laughed all the harder, before coughing lightly and adding, showing off his trinket. "This here gold coin is enchanted. Dragons love little nic-nacs like this one, but this one has a trick to it. If the beastly puts it on, it goes straight to sleep, see? Now, what you do with a sleeping dragon is up to you," the merchant said, "And the charm doesn't last forever--just a couple of hours say-- and--"
Luke sighed, digging into the pocket in his white garment. If he paid for something maybe the merchant would shut up and let him be on his way.
Thankfully, it worked. The old man walked away leading his pack mule leaded down with goods of all sort and Luke walked away with, what the priest thought to be, a useless trinket.
Well, he thought to himself, forest on both sides of him and on a dirt path that seemed to lead on forever, maybe one of the priests back home will like it. Hopefully I'll get to a good spot to set up camp tonight ...
It was odd how hard it was to find a good place to sleep when the last inn was three days of traveling on foot behind him and the path only got more and more rough as he went forward, deeper into what most call: the Wilds.

Celestias leaned over the small pond, watching the fish swim about, not seeming to notice the dragon's presence, for he held as still as stone. Every so often, the dragon would swat at the water, scooping up and letting it land on the rocks beside him.
Once he had collected all about four fish, the male collected his earnings and made a small fire in order to cook the meal. Using his claws to remove the scales from the fish's body, he slid the small creature onto a stick and held it over the fire.
Every so often, the dragon would hear small movements. He had already identified it as a rabbit of some sort before going back to eating. Then he heard an unusually large rustle a little farther off. He jumped to his feet, putting out the fire and waiting to see if he could sense the creature's being.
Feet... along with the clunking of shoes. Celestias silently slipped back into what he thought was a safe haven. Deep withing the water, he waited out for whatever it was to go further away.
What is that thing...? I've never heard anything like it... the young dragon thought as he turned back into his original form and curled himself onto the very bottom for the pond.
Sleep soon overtook his body and his eyes fluttered shut into the dark world of unconsciousness.

Sighing, feet aching dulling withing his shoes, Luke trudged forward, sun setting in the still-distant mountains. Having given up the thought of possibly finding a nice, rocky overhang which to sent up camp for the night under, he'd decided on just finding a stream or pond to fill up his water sack and to sleep by.
He'd been walking for weeks, and it looked like he'd still be walking for weeks more because the priest had yet to find hide or scale of any sort of dragon, big or small.
"Obtain a dragon's heart and to restore peace to the land by balancing the order of things yet again!" They'd told him ... too bad that little order/prophecy hadn't told him where to find a dragon ...
Stumbling, Luke realized that he had found at least one thing; a nice small stream. A little too small to easily fill his water sack, unfortunately. So, with a sigh, he started walking downstream, hoping that the little trickle of water might widen into something larger, or form into a pool further down.
And there was.
Letting out a relived sigh, Luke let his pack hit the ground and sat down himself. He'd gone off of the trail hours ago, and was pretty sure he was vaguely lost, but the sight of the small body of water was a heartning one. Taking out the coin he'd bought down the road, he looked at it in the fading light, gold glinting in the setting sunlight.
What a waste ... he thought to himself. Though, it wasn't like there was any real place to spend his money close by.

The dragon jumped, feeling vibrations from above on the surface. Whatever he had sensed from before was closer than he wanted. In order to stay safe, he turned into his human form and pressed himself against the sides of the small body of water.
No... stay away... the dragon grew out it's wings and began concentrating. Since I can't see you, I have to use my senses. he closed his eyes and used his sense of feeling vibrations and hearing to find whatever was to close to his home.
Celestias began flapping his wings vigorously, creating a whirlpool in the water and used a bit of magic to make water come up from it and shoot at the creature above. Hopefully that would make it go away and leave him be.
While water was still pushing the creature back, the young dragon used this moment to escape. He quickly jumped up out of the pond and ran deeper into the forest. He didn't bother to silence his steps, for whatever he was leaving behind probably wouldn't hear them anyway.

Luke put the trinket into his his pocket and was about to reach for his water sack to refill it with some of the fresh water from the pool when he noticed that there seemed to be a whirlpool in the--
And the he got a stream of water right in his face. Sputtering, holding up his hands in automatic defense against the hard and wet pressure pushing him, he tried to stand his ground and simply stay up right, getting soaked through. By the time the water stopped the young priests robes were hanging wetly off of him like wet fur off of a cat, and the blond young man didn't look half as respectable or refined as he had before, travel dirt and all though most of the dust from the road had been washed off of him. At least it had been like a free bath ... if an unwanted one ...
What in the name of all that is holy ... ? Luke wondered, coughing out some of the liquid he'd accidentally inhaled in the attack. Does this pool belong to a water sprite? Or maybe it's enchanted ...
Either way, Luke pulled his stuff a good distance away and set up a small tent underneath a nearby tree, eying the now-calm water all the while, before cautiously filling his water sack. No water pour at him, so he guessed that whatever that had happened wouldn't happen again ... hopefully.
As it was he set up a small fire, carefully making sure that the flames were far from anything that might catch fire unintentionally and set about drying his robes and clothing, though he kept his shorts on, seeing as just because he was alone there was no reason to be indecent.

Celestias watched the other from afar, confirming that the other was a human. He shivered to himself and hid high above in the trees. The leaves were thick enough that they hid him completely but still made a nice place to sleep. He had broken branches off and picked leaves to make a bedding for himself. It felt very comfortable.
He let out a small yawn before letting his eyes flutter shut. The soothing sound of wind rustled through the leaves in the tree he had taken as his own. There weren't any real threats coming from he human but he still knew that the only reason a human would be out here was to take a dragon's heart and become immortal.
The small dragon placed a hand on his chest and sighed. Hopefully he wouldn't be found for he absolutely despised hurting others. Why did the humans have to turn on them? The dragons hadn't done anything wrong.
The middle of the night had come unexpectedly quick. Celestias opened his eyes and peeked through the leaves at the human below. He wasn't doing much. It looked as if he was sleeping. The male shrugged and looked up at the sky. The moon was full and the light shown down onto the earth.
The dragon's eyes flashed and glistened in the light, looking as if they were brighter, just like in his dragon form. He climbed down from the tree and looked up at the moon. The mark on his forehead began to glow as Celestias closed his eyes and let out a breath of air. Tattoos on his body became visible as he began singing a song of the dragons.
House of the whirlpool month of the drowned rose We in the absence of light remember the turn of winter the chromatic dazzle of wings here in the prison of sleep and forgetfulness amber of winter refracted country the lady remembered in the altered veins of the throat
Month of the rains month of the secret water Under the light the lapse of memory rises to sound to the lost blood calling to the loud gate of knives and the world's entry parabola of the hawk as the sun descends. O let the lady rise in fire as the last sky burns to nothing...

Luke, having swallowed down a small portion of his food to severe as 'dinner,' sighed and checked his clothing. It was still damp. With a light groan he shook his head--the nights in these parts could be chilly for someone without a shirt--but he just pulled out his blanket and slipped underneath the small tent, letting his head peak out so that he could see the colors as the sun set, drifting off into a tired sleep caused by days upon days of travel, hoping to be spared a rainstorm in the middle of the night (as it had happened before another time he'd elected to stay slightly outside of his tent to look at the stars).
For a time he dreamed of what he imagined was to come, which was him having to travel all the way to the foot of the distant mountains or farther to actually find signs of dragons, and then ... He shivered in his sleep, turning over. No man could dream of facing dragons; or at least for most it was more of a nightmare. Something bigger, stronger, older, wiser ...
Starting awake with a small jump, Luke panted. In his dream, he'd gotten eaten. The young priest only hoped that God would have mercy upon him when he actually faced the real thing ...
Rubbing his forehead, the human noticed something. Somewhere in the forest, someone was singing. But ... the last huan habitation he'd come across was too far back for just anyone to be wandering around these woods, like him.
Hopeful but suspicious at the same time, the priest carefully pulled his shirt on, leaving the obvious white robe where it was, and crept towards the sound as quietly as he could. Eventually, he saw a small glow in a distant area. More curious than ever, he slid forward as if he were hunted rabbits, and got a glimpse of--
What on Earth ...?

Celestias song was cut short as he heard something coming closer. The glow faded and he turned his head to see what could be watching him. He then recognized the vibrations that the male gave off and jumped back. He couldn't turn dragon or he would be hunted.
Turning, the young dragon male ran as fast as he could, away from the other. He couldn't afford to be caught. He was a little upset. The moon ritual was very dear to him. Every full moon, dragons were to sing to it. It gave them hope and strengthened them throughout the night.
He didn't bother to glance back at the human, just kept running. Once unable to run anymore, the dragon glanced back and made sure that the other had gotten lost. Climbing up a tree was the only way to make sure that he wouldn't be found.
At the very top, Celestias looked back up at the moon and hummed to it instead of singing, for fear that the human would find him again.

Luke was amazed, but only for a moment. The -whatever it was- ran almost before he caught his glimpse of it, but he'd seen enough to be sure enough that the male-creature-humanoid-thing hadn't seemed to be either wholly human or anything near a dragon. Swallowing thickly, Luke retraced his steps after looking off into the direction the glowing creature had disappeared to, deciding that it would be best to just get back to his tent and sleep by his little pool until morning.
Odd thoughts of stories about beautiful creatures that lived in far away places and sang men to their doom or to have young human males added into a harem of slaves tickled the back of his mind and he spent the rest of the night more-or-less sleeping restlessly within his tent, which in turn caused him to oversleep past the dawn.
He had strange nightmares of sirens coming from the lake and dragging him down into the still waters to drown, his dreaming mind being far less confident than his waking one.

When morning had come, Celestias had descended from the tree and sighed. He had been able to sleep for an hour or two before awakening. He couldn't sleep now knowing that the human knew what he looked like.
Walking to a nearby small yet beautiful waterfall, the young dragon slowly stepped into the water, his clothes on tree branches so that they would not get wet, and made his way over to the waterfall. Standing under it, he began to bathe himself from the dirt that had gathered on him from that night's run. The water massaged his body, making him murr and feel very relaxed.
He cupped his hands and scooped up a small frog that was swimming. He gave it a small stroke before releasing it back into the water. The sun was warm and made the water a little less cold that it was at night. Running a finger over the mark on his forehead, the being let out a sigh. I hope I'm not leading a trail right to the others. Actually they should be far gone by now so they are safe...
