So, my internet died for like an hour (please don't ever leave me again, good internet, I was ready to go into freak out mode D: ) and it gave my the opportunity to finish up the DS remake of Dragon Quest IV and I got to the final boss Necrosaro (Psaro if anyone is fond of the remake's names) and dear God, I swear either I didn't spend an hour Metal Slime hunting like I did in the Warrior version, or they buffed his difficulty tenfold. D:
Anyway, as I was fighting, I got to his final form and his breath killed every single person except for a badly underleveled/poorly equipped Taloon, and it's Taloon we're talkin', I was sure I was doomed and I did one last attack to end it, and he totally killed Necrosaro! I haven't seen anything that close since Princess Moonbrooke survived a Rhone trip gone wrong on her own!
PS: By the way, in the great repertoire of RPGs I have played in my life, Dragon Quest/Warrior IV would be my all time favourite final boss fight of all.

I love the Necrosaro battle. It's one of my favorite final battles too. I've always found one-winged-angel forms to be kinda a** pulls. Most of them just seem like excuses to extend the battle. Necrosaro is different. He keeps changing! It's awesome! It's long! It's challenging! Coool! The cohesion and transformation is just so cool.
That's badass, by the way. You heard the song. Torneko attributes his success to his girth. Including defeating Psaro the Manslayer and appearing in a spinoff.

I agree with you on the one-winged-angel approach, although I think they made the second Malroth fight in Dragon Warrior II just to be pricks, but that doesn't bother me, it made me feel more special killing Malroth with almost no MP. xD I remember when I first fought Necrosaro like four years ago, I was mesmerized, who knew an NES game could have enemies that detailed?
I still want to play Torneko's spin-offs, I wonder if there's a decent patch on the internet that will let me play the first one.. although it sort of looks like pure dungeon crawling, then again I like dungeon crawling..
