Race:Vampire(lamia)/half human(but doesn't know it)
The lamia are stronger than sired vampires possessing abilities such as hypnotism telekinesis and telepathy-among others. They can walk in the sun-though it reduces their power (note I say reduce, not take away they can easily kill and feed in broad daylight ). And will usually look like any normal human wearing sunglasses and enjoying a sunny day-which is how they catch their food half the time.
But they do have one weakness. Ever wonder how that myth of the wooden stake came to be? Or why it works on some vampires-thought there are a few that are immune to it.a
Wood is poison to the lamia- shoot them or cut them with steel and they heal right up but cut them with wood and they keep on bleeding. No one knows exactly why but wood stops the regeneration of the cells that allows them their accelerated healing. So a stake trough the heart-or anything wooden and sharp for that matter, will usually do the trick. Lamia however don’t turn to dust. Their bodies dry up so that they basically look like a 100-year-old-corpse (yeah there’s a pretty picture)

One of the only lamia vampires left. Fierce, wont stand for weakness. Until recently she thought humans were vermin Unknown to Jez her mother was human, her parents were killed and she was raised by her uncle a solitary vampire who took her in at the age of 3. raised as a vampire Jez and Morgead led a gang who would challenge human gangs and then drink their blood-against the vampire laws of the Night World. And were never discovered because they picked those who would not be missed. because of this and the fact that her father wasnt just any vampire but a Redfern, despite being half human she is one of the strongest among the lamia. if anything her human half makes her stronger since things that usually kill lamia dont really hurt her as much(palo santo, blessed water ect)
jez's soulmate Morgead betrays her after finfind out she's half human under the heavy influence of the soulmate principle he becomes obsessed with having her and turning her over to his side. Jez joins Circle Daybreak-mostly because she has nowhere to go.
After the circle is attacked(again by an enemy) Jez goes on her own to search for Thierry. This is when she meets Alex.
When she first met Alex she thought him to be weak because he hadn’t killed a human or drank human blood in 100 years.and looked down on him for sympathizing with them-although he reminds her of both her soul mate and her lord, Thierry.
Despite their differences she feels she has no choice but to ally with him since made vampires have always seen lamia as a threat.
Jez struggles to understand why Alex refuses to kill humans even after the way they treat him and more often than not wants to punish them herself-though Alex can keep her from doing so. Sometimes. Eventually they come to an understandment.
Since joining alex and his group of friends-along with hers they've been traveling both because they enjoy it and to try and spend sometime free of danger.(relatively at least). That is how they came to the academy
