Audra pulled her long hair up and twisted it around her head. The sun was beating down on her, making her skin glisten with sweat. It was the early afternoon, and all she could see around her was grass, trees, hills, more hills and in a very far off distance, a boulder. She continued to trudge along the path before her, knowing that sooner or later it would take her back to Hyrule city.

As she neared the boulder, she finally realized it was a landmark, signifying a for in the path. Sighing, she walked a little faster to reach the boulder. It was somewhat large, meaning that it would offer her a short respite from the heat if she rested in the shadows.

As she reached the oulder, she sighed and collapsed under its shadow, with the rock looming above her. Not that she minded, but she had finally come to a conclusion: never ever attempt to walk back to Hyrule if you have no idea where you were.

Scathach emerged from the shadows and she eyed him resentfully. He stared back at her, his golden eyes never blinking. Sighing, she looked away, saving her strength for the walk to Hyrule.

Mint-#1bb068

Volare sighed and looked up at the sun, it was hot out, unbelievably hot.... well, unexpectedly hot anyways. He yawned and stretched his hands above his head, his sword thumping against his side a bit. His Esper Mint walked beside him, her own brown head hung low. She sighed as well, not liking the heat just as much, if not more than her pactmaker, due to her fur coat. "Well, this is one of the dumber ideas you've had Volare." the esper finally said, looking up at him with her green eyes. Volare sighed and scowled at her. "Not that you always have dumb ideas, just... what makes you think she would be randomly wandering around Hyrule feild? This place is vast, and we could easily pass her up. You'd be better off staying in one spot." Mint said matter of factly. This was how it usually was. His talkative Esper prattling away about something or another, and him listening, with the occasional remark.

Mint for her part was just trying to get better acquainted with her bonded Hylian partner, he didn't talk much, but she was getting more out of him... slowly. And learning to read his subtle clues of how he was feeling, so that was progress enough for her. For now.
Volare looked up, a rock. It would be a good place for lunch, as he hadn't seen a shade tree in a while. For a moment he wondered if he was in a grassy desert, but dismissed the thought. With another sigh he altered his course for the boulder and Mint picked up her pace, happy to find a place out of the overbearing sun. That was, until Volare noticed that someone had already claimed this particular rock.

"Hey!! Excuse me!! Can we share your rock?!" Mint called out as she noticed the woman and the poe next to it. Volare looked at her and sighed, shaking his head. Leave it to Mint...

Audra looked up at the voice, seeing a blonde-haired man accompanied by a Phantom. Pretty horse, and the man looked very resigned, as if he couldn't believe what his esper had just done.

She shrugged. "By all means." She answered. "Can't stop you, since this is a public place." She sure had been running into a lot of people lately, no? She sighed, since her loner-ish tendencies were already ruined by Scathach, but was now further ruined by people she met all the time. And she thought that finally, in the vast Hyrule Field, she could get away, but nope. Just her luck today.

Scatach shifted around her and flickered in and out of sight. Irritated, she turned to him. "Go ahead, sheesh!" He faded out of sight, having been on the wrong side of her temper once before, and knew that it was not pretty.

Mint-#1bb068

Volare sighed and Mint just smiled and walked over to the boulder, sitting next to but not too close, to the sheikah (spelling?) woman. He watched as the poe disappeared and looked at the woman. Her outfit was a bit lucrative, but his attention was drawn to her irritation more than anything.
She didn't seem to want company, that much was certain, and Volare wasn't too keen on bothering her, she looked like more than just curves were hidden under her clothes.
He sighed and sat on the other side of Mint, who was now settled and looking quiet comfortable next to the stranger. "Sorry for the intrusion." Volare said shortly and wiped the sweat off his brow.

Audra sighed softly as the Phantom came to sit next to her. It was pretty, with a soft mint coloured mane and tale, with sprinklings of said colours all over it's brown body.

"It's okay." She sighed. "A little bit of company won't kill me I guess." The blonde-haired stranger was attractive, she supposed, but not really her type. She noticed the sword around him and his apparent Hylian heritage, though she obviously wasn't if you looked closely. She shifted slightly as the man sat down next to his esper.

Scatach chose that moment to reappear again, and she shot the poe a dark look. He blinked at her innocently, his golden eyes wide. Shooting him a look that meant that he would very probably be in trouble later, she turned to the stranger. "I'm Audra, and this is Scathach." She said formally, introducing herself and the poe.

Mint-#1bb068

Volare looked over at the poe, who hadn't seemed to make up his... or her... mind on whether or not it wanted to stay or disappear. Volare could agree with the womans desire for privacy, he really wasn't a social creature himself. His constant wanderings usually made sure to that, although now that Mint was in the picture it was a little hard to say he was alone "all" the time...

"I'm Volare, this is Mint-"
"Hi there!" the mare smiled and looked first at Audra, but she was obviously more interested in the other esper. It wasn't often they ran into them.

Scathach had seen a few other espers, but never a Phantom before. He drifted over curiously and looked the small horse over. Audra watched them for a moment before turning to the blonde haired stranger again.

"So, your name is Volare?" She asked. "Intriguing name. What are you doing out here in the vast, never-ending Hyrule fields?" She asked, trying to make small talk to ease the awkwardness between them.

Volare watched for a moment as Mint stood up to examine the poe, now examining her, more fully.
Volare on the other hand looked back to Audra as she asked her question. Well, that was one hell of an opening to ask if she had seen his sister in her travels, which was inevitably where he would end up in conversation. He always asked the people he chanced upon if they had seen the blond girl with the blue pendant.

"I'm searching for my twin sister." he said, pausing to mull over the small smidgen of information he had gathered from one shady character, whom he had to pay off to get to talk anyways. "She is shorter than I, blond hair, wears a pendant like-" he lifted his hand up and fished out the pendant from its resting spot against his chest and under his shirt "-this. Her name is Isis." Usually, that was the most Volare ever said to the people he met, that and apologizing for Mints very forward and un-shy behavior, though it seldom seemed to offend people.

He tilted his head to the side, dropping his pendant back inside his shirt and looking at Audra. "Have you seen her?"

Listening to him, Audra felt a twinge of sympathy. The blue pendant was really gorgeous, and she'd love to have one similar to that. Next to her, Scathach stared at the Phantom as it got up and examined him, his golden eyes wide and searching.

"Possibly." Audra answered. She was silent for a while while she sifted through the news she had received lately. Then something clicked. "There's been talk of a mercenary who's searching for her twin brother, I believe." She said, thoughtfully. "I could ask around, I suppose." She smirked as she remembered how she had gotten the information, not that it really mattered to her. That man had one hell of a mouth on him and said what he was thinking. A few beers later, he was knocked out and she had a lot of new information, mostly useless but at least she was up to date on what had been going on in the less than pretty side of the world. And it had gotten her a job at least. Not that it mattered in this conversation. Volare most certainly did not need to know about her night job. It'd probably scare the guy off.

Mint-#1bb068

Both Volare's eyebrow shot up as he received the information Audra had. His little sister (sure she was only two minutes younger but she was still little to him), but... a Mercenary? The person who went out and killed people for money?? That wasn't the Isis he remembered, she wouldn't have hurt a fly... well unless it threatened her family or the horses... He sighed and rested his head back on the rock.

what had happened to her to make her want to do that for a living? He stopped his train of thought and looked back at Audra, "Thanks..." he said slowly, his mind still clearly on the fact he had just been told his sister was a killer.

Mint, on the other hand, was getting tired of the poe's quietness and spoke up. "Can you talk?" she asked curiously and shoved her little snout right up to the poor poe's face.

Audra noted the shocked expression on the man's face. Maybe she shouldn't have told him about the mercenary part. But the damage was done. "You're welcome," She shrugged. "But these are just rumours, and who knows if there's any truth in them." As shadows suddenly engulfed them, Audra got up and whirled around to see Scathach twitching in fright. She sighed when she noticed the Phantom's face in the poor poe's own.

Scathach twitched violently and jerked backwards, having unconsciously called on the shadows to aid him and hide him in their dark embrace. The horse had frightened him, and he wasn't about to hang around to be terrified. Retreating to Audra's shadow, he faded away until all that could be seen were two golden orbs in the darkness, but that too faded away within minutes. Poor Scathach. He didn't take to having someone's face in his own very kindly, and he had reacted instinctively. She snapped her fingers and used her own strength to dissipate the shadows until all was it what it had been a few minutes ago.

Mint-#1bb068

Volare looked around, his hand moving instinctively to his sword as shadows suddenly surrounded them, his esper let out a frightened whinny and immediately backed up and buried her snout and face in the crook of his arm, although she really didn't fit there too well. Volare sighed and patted the phantoms head, still not too sure what was going on, but Audra seemed to have it under control.
He did however have a strange suspicion that Mint was the cause of all this, as the poe had retreated and disappeared again, perhaps she had startled it?

But Audra has said it was just a rumor... Still, how often were there male and female twins looking for one another? He didn't think himself to be unique or special, but surely there couldn't be that many twins wandering around Hyrule, looking for each other.

As the last of the shadows disappeared, Audra surveyed the scene before her. "Sorry about that." Audra apologized. The horse was shaking and had buried her snout in the crook of her pact maker's arm. "He got scared, and well..." She ran her hands through her hair. "Things get out of control if he lets his emotions get the better of him." She explained, feeling bad about it, even though the phantom was the main reason Scathach had been terrified.

As she sat down again, she decided she would go do some asking around to see if the rumours were true. Though she wasn't sure, she may have seen the girl during a mission or in a tavern before. Not that she was going to mention this to Volare.

"I can go check out the rumours if you'd like me to?" She offered. "There may be a grain of truth in them, but don't get your hopes up." She warned.

Mint-#1bb068

Volare shook his head. "Don't apologize, I'm sure Mint had something to do with startling him." Mint at that point took her snout out of his arm and looked at him, her milky green eyes wide and reproachful. Telling him that he was supposed to comfort her, whether or not it was her fault or someone elses.

He sighed and patted Mint's head and she just laid down and put her head in his lap. He looked at Audra, he wasn't sure he wanted to know if his sister was a mercenary. He of course wanted to find her... but how much had she changed if that was what she did for a living. He still wanted to know what made her pursue such a path...
"You can check if you want... I don't want you to inconvenience yourself." he said slowly and looked up at her, blue eyes meeting stormy gray ones. "It would be nice to think she was looking for me, even if she is a mercenary. I would certainly want to know why she would take such a path..." apparently the fact his sister could be a killer was really eating at him.

"Okay then. Scathach should be fine. He probably need to calm down." Audra shrugged. "It's your call. I can look them up if you like, it won't bother me. But if you don't want me to, I won't." She watched as he petted the green mane of the mare which now had her head in his lap. Taking her hair out, she redid her braid and wound it in a bun to keep the flyaway strands away from her neck.

"Mercenary or not, she's still your sister. Situations can drive people to do things they would never imagine they would do." Her voice held a note of sadness as she contemplated her own past. She would never have been happy, married off to a man she didn't love and who didn't love her in return. Instead, she had traded everything for her freedom. And she didn't regret that. Except for the estrangement from her family. Circumstances changed, and they forced you to stand up, take a step and try again, even if you fell a million times.

But the reward was worth the struggle. She was now an independent, mature woman, with plenty of experience in dealing with the world. She couldn't believe how naive she had been. But that had changed. She was now jaded, perhaps a tad too much, but that didn't matter too her. It always saved her from getting her heart broken.
