.................Naomi Ando.................

"I want to know... With every chord, I see life... I see it born and grow... I see it harmonize, and witness something extraordinary..."

Leaving the Theater district meant taking a back way which bend around toward the University of Tokyo. Taking the street would be hazardous, since Naomi wanted to hide, and the last thing she wanted was for someone to recognize her. Looking both ways, she entered through an emergency exit into one of the buildings. Just as she enter, she paused, as she seated into the backstage of another theater. College students, dressed in casual attire, were scattered across the stage, some reading scripts while others painted the scenery. A few students turned their heads to look at her, but within a moment, went back to their work, as if nothing was wrong. Naomi looked around, and quietly exited the stage to the hallway.

For a while, the young girl looked around, unsure where she was going, or what she actually intended to do for the rest of the day. Her parents would not expect her home until the evening, and the day was hardly reaching noon. The students didn't even take a second glance at Naomi as she wandered through the corridors, believing her to be just another student. Several minutes of walking, then Naomi found herself alone on a hallway, with several doors on both sides. There was a tag beside each of the doors, but Naomi's eyes instantly caught one that said "Music Room 4A" Her breath got caught in her throat, as she quickly entered, not even bothering to close the door behind her.

The room was dark, and when Naomi tried to turn on the lights, they didn't flick on. There were curtained windows on one side of the room, which Noami quickly opened, illuminating the room in natural sunlight. Naomi gasped, as her heart rose up in her chest. A grand piano stood before her, though a bit dusty, Naomi looked around at the unused, or old instruments that were kept along the walls or held upon stacked cases. She stepped up to the piano, wiping off the dust on the seat so that she could sit down. Despite the age of the instrument, the ivory keys looked polished, and new. Naomi couldn't help herself as her fingers placed the middle C. The ring of a bell strummed within the heart of the piano, releasing a faint green light, causing Naomi to smile.

Scooting herself properly, she positioned her hands, and began to play. It was strange... For a while now, as Naomi begun to play, she would feel herself express not only her own music, but the presence of another seemed to join in hand with her. It was not a person, nor any living being. Naomi began to believe that she was not only playing from her heart, but also the heart of the instrument. With each note, a colorful ray of light would emerge from the depths of the wooden case. Pretty soon, her eyes fell into the wonder and magic, as woven lights of every color swayed throughout the room, As if a thousand auroras coalesced, forming a perfect harmony of lights before her eyes. Now, playing for no one, Naomi felt her heart come to life.

The music filled her sense, taking her away from this world, and in her mind, the world seemed to fade away, bringing her to a place that only she seemed to understand. Her eyes were open, not daring to blink, as if she would miss the evidence of a miracle. Her eyes stung, threatening to cry, as her fingers did not move with any thought or any concentration, only through pure feeling did her fingertips press down upon the ivory, adding more chords of light to the performance.

So it was going to be another of those days, huh? Dreary and uneventful. It's almost as if Ren were living in a bad dream. He wistfully daydreamed off in class as his professor seemed to babble on with an anecdote on their personal experience that had little to do with the topic at hand, and yet trying to convince them otherwise would have been seen as ill-mannered. He rolled his eyes in agitation before his green irises happened to peer upon the clock hanging just above the door. And so began his mental debate, should he leave early and risk being set back by a potential pop quiz. Or would he remain in his seat and stay subservient like a good scholarly student should? Of course the debate didn't last very long, and by the time Professor Ishiyama had finished telling his tale for the ages Ren was long gone down the hallways of his own accord.

It felt peaceful to be out, he didn't feel the pressure of needing to communicate with anyone or having to conform with any ideals. Here he was just Ren. The hallways were practically a ghost town around this time, classes were only about half-way through so apart from the occasional bathroom break or two Ren was alone in his pilgrimage. He began to doze off about what his life would have been like if he were more popular in high school, what it must have felt like to have friends wherever he turned. Girls clamoring for him, and teachers praising him. Life was a cruel mistress and a short stroke of fate. In the end, he had no friends, has never even kissed a girl let alone a girlfriend, and his grades? Ha. Mediocre at best, he managed to squeeze into Todai because his mother once dated the Dean of Admissions. He was a screw up if there ever was one, a failure. If only he could have been more like his father... if only. Ren idolized his father, a popular judge with a strong sense of justice; he could only hope to be so successful and well loved. He died when Ren was still in elementary school, his mother never told him the specifics, but Ren could only assume he was murdered by someone he'd put away a long time ago. Life was a cruel mistress indeed.

Without knowing it, he managed to end up in the extracurricular hallway. He was so used to feeling alone that he didn't notice when he actually was. Odd, what was this faint feeling? This strange sensation of joy and excitement. With each step he took his heart lept with joy. What was it? And then he heard something... faint at first. But as he continued to stride down the halls the sound grew more audible. Louder and louder until he could firmly identify it as the sound of music. Someone was playing music around here. In an educated guess made from the tone, it was a piano. He knew there were only two pianos here. He continued his trek through the hallway scouring for whoever was playing that beautiful music.

He'd finally come across an open door, judging from the sound this is where the music was coming from. But this room wasn't used very often, someone must have snuck in here. He peered in lightly through the door and saw the culprit. A girl, probably around his age with short white hair. He wanted to interrupt and tell her she couldn't be here but she seemed to be enjoying herself. He watched her more catching the faint feeling that all was not as it seemed, the more she played the more Ren's heart was taken by her wonderful music. He even thought his eyes were beginning to play tricks on him. An array of colors began to flood the room, captivating Ren with both audible and visual aesthetics. Just who was she for him to feel this way? He couldn't help but walk a little closer, and then a little more. She was his siren. A captivating songstress, tempting him to his doom. "Beautiful..." He muttered awkwardly as he took another step forward in wonder. Almost in a vague trance, he couldn't help but to continue progressing. Mesmerized by how warm the feeling was he moved forward blankly. One foot after the other, all the way until he was only a couple of feet away from Naomi and the piano.

.................Naomi Ando.................

"In the end... I see it all go away, and the world comes back together again... It hurts..."

Naomi couldn't hear, or even sense that someone entered the room. Her mind was taken someplace far away from the room, where she could climb over the highest cloud, or swim through the deepest ocean. The awkward position made it so that looking straight would not look directly at the door, so even if she did have a conscience mind, she wouldn't see the boy, not much older than she was, enter. Her heart began to end the song with a slow note, until the final chord was played. Her eyes looked up with the same bewilderment she always had whenever she played music, as if entranced by her own aria.

When lights began to fade, Naomi took in a breath, and blinked her eyes. Sometimes... Particularly when she was forcing herself to play in front of a large audience, the lights that appeared would fade away almost as quickly as they came, it never lingered, and for a long time, Naomi would become sad at the end of the song. This time was different, however. The lights stayed much longer, and her heart did not seem to descend into melancholy. In fact, her heart felt... free, as if the burden upon her spirit has lifted. She didn't play for anyone. Not for critics, musicians, sponsor, or anyone. It was all for herself. A content sound of breath came from her lips,

It was then when she stared in the dirty reflection of the piano did she notice there was someone behind her. She turned her head quickly, starting up at a tall, lanky figure. Her mouth opened, as if to scream, but no sound would come forth, just as it never had in her entire life. Only a small gasp emerged from her lips, as she stood up and scooted out from the piano seat.

She padded her frilled dress, nervously wiping away the imaginary dust that accumulated in between the cloth. Her eyes occasionally looked up at the chest-nut haired stranger, and bit her lower lips lightly. She knew she wasn't suppose to be here, let alone be messing with things that weren't hers. She mentally kicked herself, since she generally never got into these kinds of situations before. She had always been the good girl, always doing what she was told, being respectful, and polite. She stopped her fidgeting, letting her hands clasp against her lap as she opened her mouth again to explain, but knowing how futile it would be, she closed her mouth with an exasperated sigh.

Ren cringed in fear as the girl noticed his presence so suddenly with a small gasp, almost as if he didn't exist until she stopped playing. He had gotten used to the feeling... of not existing to anyone. Always forsaken, always overlooked. It was like he was living in everyone's shadow. Forever behind someone but never payed any attention to, a dreadful feeling it was. Everyone knows a shadow's place is behind someone, even when he tried to be friendly and outgoing he was ignored or jeered at. What a horrible feeling, to never be noticed. But for the first time someone felt he had a presence. It might not have been the way he had hoped, but she could see him. He didn't mean to startle her, that was the farthest from his intentions. And now it was around this time that he wished she were still ignoring him, at least then it would have been easier to just remain quiet. There would be an awkward silence between for a few moments. One couldn't talk and the other was reluctant to. What a strange combination.

Ren began to fumble nervously with his fingers, intertwining them and then unlocking them before putting them back together again. He constantly looked at the floor, only occasionally glancing back up towards Naomi before looking back down again before she could notice his glance. It was strange and childish but he wasn't good in situations like these at all. "Um... uh-" He stumbled over his words. Just what was it he wanted to say to her? "Y-your playing. I-t was really n-nice." He stuttered from the pressure. He had never been in a situation like this before, it felt like his heart was about to burst from racing so much. But that was wrong, he really wanted to tell her she wasn't supposed to be in here. It wasn't that hard, it didn't seem like such a big deal. So why couldn't he say it? He was afraid of being mocked, these things always happened when he spoke up about something. The poor boy had no confidence left in him, he started shaking like a leaf.

He gulped loudly in anxiety, this was it. He was going to tell her that this room was off limits, no matter how hard it was. Even if it hurt her feelings he was going to tell her to leave. He opened his mouth and tried to form the correct words but nothing came out. "..." Ren then quickly covered it with his hand embarrassed as his mind began to run in overdrive. "Relax, relax. You can do this, Ren. It's just one girl, not like she'll hate you for the rest of her life." He quickly retorted back to himself "but what if she does?" and suddenly his new found gumption had been thrown out the metaphorical window. "I'm sorry for bothering y-ou. I-I can go if you'd like." He said that nervous stutter continuing, he'd failed his mission. Just how could he become a hero of justice, if he couldn't even stop one girl from playing on a piano? He sighed and turned around for the door, he took her silence as a yes to his question. Of course she wanted him to leave, after all she was just like everyone else. But it felt good to be noticed, at least just this once. "I really did like it though, your playing. It was warm and soothing... It-" He cut himself off after realizing that he'd been talking to this girl without thinking. "It reminded me of someone I used to know, that's all." He turned to her with a smile. That's right; he remembered where he'd felt that feeling from before. It was just like when his father played the harmonica for him when he was little.

"Wanna' hear something cool?" He asked her feeling as if he had nothing to lose at this point. She'd probably say no but it was worth a shot. He fumbled around his pockets for his father's harmonica, it was chrome with a red finish detailing the casing. He showed it off to her proudly, it was his most cherished possession. "It was my father's." He said warmly, before heating it up a little by blowing in its slits. Caught up in nostalgia he unwittingly began to play Clementine for Naomi. It was just like his father were there watching him.

.................Naomi Ando.................

"Why is he so nervous? Is he afraid? Is he worried? I don't... sense that 'look' upon him... How honest is his heart?"

Naomi acted the same as he did, fidgety, nervous, and uncertain. It wasn't until he spoke did Naomi seize to look at the floor. However, to her, words did not come out of his mouth. What she heard was nothing more than a series of soft, shuddering sounds that made no coherent sense. She merely watched intently, looking at his lips as they moved, and the broken red words that came out of it. Naomi knew what he meant, which made her smile sadly, and bow her head in reply. She heard that line many times before, however, looking at him, she felt like as if he wasn't speaking what he truly thought.

Was he being dishonest?

Naomi bit her lower lip, before watching him speak again. He offered her privacy, though once again, she sensed that he wasn't telling the truth. Though it would often make her more comfortable, she seemed ill-pressed, even curious to find out.

What are his real thoughts?

It was only until his voice carried a much smooth vibe, coming out straight and certain, as if he was spilling his heart. Though his back was turned, she could see the faint colors of his voice, coming out as a soft ray of iridescent colors that changed its tone. Naomi's heart lightened, as it showed the colors of his heart. It was a great relief to her, forging a delicate sigh and a small look of appreciation to form upon her face. However, her eyes glanced down at the harmonica. It was a beautiful instrument. She could tell that he took care of it. She watched he speak, hearing the soft, nostalgic emotions that embed from his voice. Then he began to play. Her eyes widened slightly as the light-hearted tune came out of his hands as he played. Waves of yellow, green, and red pulsed outward in vibrate waves, causing her to smile. It was more than a mere smile, it was a laughing smile, much like those that children made during Christmas. Her green eyes lit up with delight, and her lips showed a line of white teeth.

She looked down at the piano. and placed a finger upon the keys. Echoing the same melody he played, she mimicked Clementine with the same sort of bright, happy energy. The bright yellow waves echoed from the piano, unknowingly visible to both of them.

There he went again, sometimes he'd gotten so captivated by playing the Harmonica that he just dropped everything for hours on end. It was in moment's like these that his father was watching over him, guiding him, and giving him strength. He glanced over and saw Naomi's smile, a gleeful grin that exposed all her teeth breaming emotion. A beautiful smile, he couldn't he but curl a small smirk onto his lips himself. "I guess it's not so bad this way Pops. Thanks to you I met someone so interesting." He thought before his eyes enlarged visibly from shock. He didn't expect her to join in on his song. Most people thought the Harmonica was kind of... dorky.

It was strange, she seemed to be mimicking Clementine as if she'd played it for years. Every note was exactly correct, of course it was a possibility she'd already played the song before. In fact for someone with her talents it wasn't as uncommon as you'd think. But judging from her facial expressions once she first heard it, it was like a whole new world had been opened for her. Was she really copying him through sound alone? Is this what they called perfect pitch? Regardless, none of that mattered now. He was enjoying the moment and she seemed to be enjoying herself as well. He had mistaken his euphoria for a natural high, once again colors flooded the room. A bright yellow emanating from the piano softly burned into his eyes. Ren felt the warm feeling of companionship, he'd finally met a kindred spirit who understood the way he felt. Well, at least through Clementine anyway. But that was enough for him, someone with such a meager existence couldn't necessarily choose how someone view him. Just so long as they did view him at all.

As Clementine began to come to it's climax, Ren put more emphasis on the sad tone of the song. Dragging out notes and using his hand to chop them into long sections. He was sad that the song was coming to an end and wanted to know if Naomi would pick up on it with her perfect pitch. Playing the final note he clasped the harmonica in both of his hands dreamily before looking back at Naomi. She really was something wasn't she? Was she a professional or something like that? He extended his right hand for her to shake in thanks and good gesture toward her. "My name's Ren, Ren Kaito. What's yours?" He asked her expectantly. He was hoping they could have a nice conversation or two.

.................Naomi Ando.................

"Music is a beautiful thing... Because it doesn't matter how far we're apart... Or where we come from... Music is the same language to all people..."

Much like the nursery rhyme of "Ring Around the Rosie" the meaning of the song of Clementine was actually one of tragedy. Naomi's eyes did not watch her own fingers play the notes, but stared intently at Ren's playing. Whenever he changed the pitch or altered the length of the note, Naomi followed, matching the same tempo and same emotion. Despite the meaning of the song, it had an lighthearted rhythm to it. It felt different from what classical composed works of art she was used to.

The atmosphere was different too... If this was done with anyone else, Naomi would already be plagued with questions. In between every measure, or chord, she would get interrupted by a critic, or a musician, or reporter inquiring about her methods. For a while, Naomi had seemed to lost the 'joy' of simply playing music for the sake of it. It wasn't until today did she fell the breath of inspiration fill her lungs once more, and fall in love with the melody once again.

Her face became solemn as she saw him ask a question. The faint slur in the waves at the end of his voice, colored cyan for the airy hue. How could she tell him without telling him? A delicate hand reached up to her throat, tapping at her neck, as she looked away rather shamefully. There were a few pieces of music sheets left on a nearby stand, which she gingerly plucked and wrote her name on with a pen she happened to be carrying. She held out the paper to him, looking down to face the floor, though her eyes looked up upon his face, awaiting his reaction.

Ren was impressed with Naomi's musical prowess, she'd managed to copy everything he did without a hitch. All the while not even looking at her own playing, he could feel her eyes intensely following him. Well, he always guessed that there were some things he'd never be able to understand. This girl's talent was truly astonishing, he didn't quite understand it but he was happy to have seen it in person. She seemed to be enjoying herself and that was all that mattered in the end, right? He watched her face grow solemn once he asked her for her name. He frowned slightly at the reaction, of course it made sense. He was a stranger after all, she probably didn't want to play with him in the first place but she was too nice to decline him. It wouldn't be the first time someone had taken pity on him. He bit his lip, a little disappointed in how things always turn out like this. He wanted to kick himself for being gullible enough to think things would turn out differently. And then he caught sight of her dainty hands reaching for her throat. He misunderstood the action. He assumed she was sick and had been experiencing a severe symptom. Or maybe she was a famous singer who didn't like to strain her vocal chords unless she was performing.

Whatever the answer, he was delighted to find that there was still hope she wasn't rejecting him. She just couldn't speak at the moment. "What's wrong, sore throat?" He asked a little concerned before she stretched out her arm and handed him a piece of sheet music she had written something on. He read it phonetically out in his mind before piecing together that it was a name, her name. "Ah- Ah! Naomi Ando? That's your name? Naomi. It's a nice name." He said with a satisfied grin. Though he couldn't help but think he'd heard that name before somewhere. He handed her the music back, it looked important. He didn't want ruin anything like he normally did out awkwardness. "Hey... why are you here, Naomi? I mean... uh- I've never seen you around in this hallway." He fumbled, he really needed to work on talking with girls a little more.

.................Naomi Ando.................

"If I had one wish... I would want to be normal... I don't want people's pity... I just want to be like everybody else..."

A frown... It always started with a frown. Naomi's lips scrunched to the side of her face for a moment in irritation. She always hated the 'look'... Those insensitive eyebrows... The quizzical expression... And then, it would dawn upon them, 'Oh... she can't talk...' It was wrong for Naomi to become upset over a natural reaction of people. She shouldn't blame them for something that they didn't know, but perhaps the reason she detested the most was the aftermath of their revelation. People don't know how to react, and often become courteous out of pity. Pity... That was what she hated the most.

All her life, she was treated by others with sympathy. It was not through choice, but through obligation that people were so nice to her. If only they could see through her eyes, just how lonely she was. It made Naomi want to scream at the world.

Her thoughts were broken when Ren asked her something, she turned her attention back at him, unsure what he was asking, as the waves of light came out of his mouth. Reaching up with her hand, she stroked her fingers through the waves, though in his eyes, she was merely grasping at thin air. She withdrew her hand, a bit dumbfounded. What was she doing here anyway? She wasn't suppose to be here, she didn't even go to this school. It was an awkward situation, and Naomi found it difficult to describe in her head, much less try and express it.

Outside the window, Naomi had a good view of the theater. There were people dressed in suits and women prim and proper, exiting the theater, no doubt the performance had ended. She walked up to the window, pointing at the theater. She turned to him, lifting her pinky in front of her. Afterward, she making an alternating shuffling motion with her hands, and then let her fingertips come together, making small circles pointing to the floor beneath her. She didn't know how to really communicate to him, but she thought sign language was at least worth a try.

He furled his brow in confusion as he watched Naomi seemingly grasp at the air for no apparent reason. She was a bit odd, even by his standards. But that only made him want to understand her even more. Being odd didn't mean she was uninteresting, it was quite the opposite Ren had found in fact. It may have sounded horrible if spoken out loud, but he'd finally met someone a little stranger than himself. Of course he'd never judge her for that, but it was a sigh of relief that he wasn't the only one who didn't conform to society's standards very well. "What am I doing? Even if I ask her what she's doing here she won't speak. Maybe she really is one of those performers who don't use their voice boxes for anything other than singing." He thought to himself, pondering only for a moment just how famous Naomi could be. Ren closed his eyes and rubbed his chin, imagining Naomi on stage under the spotlight. He always did have a vivid imagination.

Once he came to Naomi had moseyed along to the nearby window over looking the theater. He raised his right eyebrow as she pointed at it; apparently she wanted to tell him something. He slowly strolled over, catching sight of all the swanky upscale rich folks in their nice clothes exiting the venue. Ren was a little caught off guard when Naomi tried communicating with him nonverbally. "Jeez, it'd be better if she just told me. I suck at charades." He thought before trying to break down what she was attempting to say. He took the pinky to mean her and the strange shuffling hands... well the closest thing he could get to that were piano keys. "Okay, okay, I can do this. Uh- you... piano... um..." He said stumped for the moment. What did the circles on the floor mean? He glanced back outside while trying to think and had a eureka moment. People. Ren guessed that the circles meant people or a crowd. "You play the piano there?" He asked, pointing at the theater.

"I sense difficulty in this... How much easier would it be if we could weave music into conversation the way we could express our feelings through it...?"

Naomi took a moment to process what he said. Once again, she waved her hand in front of her, feeling the colored waves move through her fingers. She nodded her head vigorously. Once again she pointed at the theater, starting the next sentence. She placed her right hand against her left forearm, tapping two fingertips alternatively along her arm to her wrist, and then pointed to the floor. A vague explanation that she came from the theater, but the question remain unanswered. Why was she here? That was something she couldn't really say.

It was wrong for her to leave. Though it was a small performance, it still brought in numerous critics and even had a member of Diet there. Her parents disapproved of the arrangement in the first place, but since he was already made before she told them, Naomi was obligated to attend. The moment she did however, she already regretted it. It felt the same as before... During the end of her world tour, she began to grow sick and tired of it all. The concerts, the strict schedule, meeting with the uppercrust of society. The same nausea was felt earlier that day. She just needed an escape.

She shook her head lightly, and smiled up at him. She held out her hand in an open palm, flexing her fingers outward, as if trying to ask about himself. She tilted her head slightly, curious and eager to listen, at least in the way that she did.

There she was again, grasping at the air as if something were. He didn't quite understand it, so he tried to look closely at how she did it. Hopefully he'd be able to catch a glimpse of what exactly it was she saw, unfortunately he didn't but that didn't discourage him. That only meant he'd have to try harder next time. Ren grinned while scratching the back of his head as Naomi confirmed his guess was correct. He chuckled at little at how hard she shook her head to answer him. If she wasn't careful it'd fall right off from between her shoulders. Soon she'd start her next statement and once again Ren had to summon the legendary deductive prowess of Sherlock Holmes to his aid. He really was bad at charades, lost every time he played too. But because he wanted to understand Naomi from the bottom of his heart, the answers came to him easier. Sure, some were difficult to get but he felt as if he understood her better than he understood people who didn't have any qualms about talking out loud.

"Uh- theater... walking... floor?" He said trying to put it all together like he'd done before. This one was pretty straightforward so it didn't take him too long to understand. "Ah, you walked here from the theater! I see, I see. So that's why you came here, you were probably bored." He said satisfied that he'd managed to deduce that one with no hitches. He found her next statement to be a little more cryptic however. Rubbing his chin he started to ponder what the fingers could have meant. It wasn't until he saw her head tilt that he got the gist of what she was saying. She was trying to push the conversation on him now, Naomi was curious. It was a little flattering. Ren's cheeks turned a rosy red color briefly, he'd never been asked about himself before and definitely not by a girl. "Uh- ummm... well there's not much to say about me really. I'm not very interesting. I sit at home and watch tv or read comic books in my spare time. I don't have very many friends. If any..." He said the last statement with lament, he tried to make them; he really did try hard to make as many as he could. But it always backfired in some way or another, but he was never one to be dejected. And he'd keep on trying until he made one. "I live by myself here in Tokyo, it's a little strange to be away from my mother. But I'm getting used to it." He stated.

.................Naomi Ando.................

"A strong, yet lonely spirit... Unlike others it seems more prominent, like a lone instrument caught in symphony, merely wanting to be heard above the rest..."

Bored wasn't the word she would pick. More like weary or restless.

She listened to him talk in her own way, watching the flow of his voice. Over time, she had learned to understand language by reading lips to see the words, and looked at the colors of their voice to feel emotion. The airy color of cyan intertwined with the color of cornflower. The dispossession of friends was indeed a sad one. One that she knew all too well.

Then she noticed something on his face. Why was he red? Was he sick? She tilted her head again. With her extended hand, she reached up, a bit too close inside his personal bubble. Small fingertips were placed against his forehead. Oddly, enough he didn't have a temperature. Her widened a bit as a dark blue light encircled around her fingertips. She withdrew her hand, looking down at her hand. Sure enough her fingertips still glowed with the blue light. It felt oddly warm to the touch, as if it wasn't her own energy.

She walked by Ren, and stepped toward the piano. She pressed a random key, drawing out a single note. Sure enough the same colored blue light flowed out of the piano. It swam through the air, gentle, steady, yet strong. A representation of Ren's own spirit. The light didn't fade quickly, as it lingered until it touched the ceiling before vanish from sight. Naomi looked at where it dispirited and looked down at her hand again. Sure enough the light around her fingertips was gone.

"Strange... What is this compelling light...? I feel connected... Why...? And to what?"

Ah! She- she touched him. With those delicate fingers she touched him so softly with her finger tips against his forehead. He didn't quite know how to react in a situation like this, it was all happening so fast. It was like puberty all over again. As Naomi violated his personal space without so much as a care, Ren's mind began to work putting together all kinds of scenarios that were about as probable as a lightning striking the room twice. The rosy red color tinging his cheeks would deepen into a much more sultry scarlet red. This was really embarrassing, did she really not understand what she was doing? He felt a little light-headed from anxiety. "Ah- Naomi wha- what are y..ou-" He questioned, his voice cracking like a 12 year old boys. But for the few seconds of time that they did contact he felt a strange warm sensation. Just like he did when he played his harmonica for her. She pulled her hand back and he nodded, feeling a little more relaxed now that the whole ordeal was over. "If it keeps on like this for the rest of the day I don't know if my poor heart can take it." He thought breathing a sigh of relief.

She walked right by for the piano once more, leaving Ren a little baffled as to why. He raised an eyebrow as she pressed a single key and let its sole note ring in his ears. The poor boy had no clue what was actually going on. Raising an eyebrow up as she seemed to be staring at something all the way to the ceiling. Ren scratched his head and yawned, getting a good stretch out of his muscles while she seemed to be coming back from whatever world he imagined she visited. As she stared at her hand he approached her and grasped it gently with his own. His cheeks reddening slightly from his own awkwardness again. "Hey, let me show you something." He said as before making his way for the door, leading Naomi with a gentle tug. Once in the hallway he made his trek forward turning right at the first intersection and then left to what seemed to be the faculty offices. He would continue all the way down the hall before making a sharp right again and coming across a plain door, it appeared to be a broom closet of some sort. If one kept walking they'd probably miss both the turn and what it hid. But Ren had discovered it on his first day. He had gotten lost trying to find his first class... extremely lost. But he was too embarrassed to ask for help and ended up in front of this place. "Here we go." He said satisfied before turning the handle and opening the door to reveal an elevator. It was an old service elevator. No one really knew about it so it was never locked. He extended his arms out and bowed politely for Naomi, a gesture for her to enter first. "After you, ma'am."
