User Image It was early morning. The sun had just risen. The air was cold and thin. It was early autumn and the tree's leaves were just beginning to turn and they looked crisp, golden, and ever so inviting. They were also just out of reach. When Girafarig stepped on tippytoes on her hind legs, she could just reach the ones on the lowest branches. She ripped off an entire twig, chewed, and swallowed. She thought the leaves tasted bland and that the twig was terribly bitter. She was disappointed. She was expecting to taste more like a golden delcious apple. Then, she looked down and noticed that the grass was cold, dewy, and smelled irresistably sweet. She ate a mouthful of it. She thought it tasted mostly sweet and green, with just a bit of a bad aftertaste.

It was the sensation of dirt in Girafarig's mouth - it was from the grass's roots - that snapped her out of it. Though, she didn't know what it was exactly. She looked all around and didn't see anything familiar. She knew she was on the Epheria Lakefront before, but this was definitely a forest. "Where am I? Wasn't I just with my brother and sister? How'd I get here?" Then, she spit out the dirt. "And what did I just eat?!" After that, she began walking forward. She figured her brother and sister would be fine without her and it wasn't like she didn't know how to get home. The pangs in her stomach did annoy her, though. "I'm so hungry. I haven't even eaten breakfast, yet..."

It was nice outside. The fall leaves allowed Carson to blend into his surroundings nicely, unlike in the winter or spring where he stood out like a sore thumb with his fiery red fur and blue eyes. But fall also meant the shortage of food. He didn't eat much in the Spiraglades. When he was hungry, but never out of fear of not finding his next meal. Now, however, he was hungry. He hadn't eaten for what felt like half a day. Perhaps a little food hunt was in order. He fluffed up his bushy tail and began to head off to try find something like sweet leaves or some non-poisonous mushrooms.

Carson wasn't that familiar with any of the parts of the Spiraglades. He rarely went out of his home in the Catalia Glades, home to many Circini. "Hmmrrr.... Where was I going again?" He asked himself as he wandered down an invisible path that was paved by where he felt like going. Even if he couldn't remember where he went, at least he remembered what kind of plants and animals from the 'real' world made him have an upset stomach.

Girafarig saw something move. She thought she must've been going crazy. It's not like plants move by themselves, after all, especially when there's not even a breeze. Then, she thought there must be a rational explanation for this. She probably just missed someone. Even though she was rather terrible at blending in - In the light, the dark parts were plain to see and in the dark, the light parts were - that didn't mean others weren't. She thought that sounded much more likely than her spontaneously letting loose a few screws.

Girafarig thought the polite thing to do would be to greet whoever or whatever it was and introduce herself. She didn't see any drawback to this. Even if she was wrong, she figured crazy folks talked to themselves, anyway. "H-Hello? Is anyone there? I'm Girafarig. ...I'm just going out for breakfast, right now."

After that, while her head was still, her eyes were going every which way. She was looking for something to eat. Nothing popped out to her other than colorful leaves, brown tree bark, and green grasses - none of which looked all that edible. "Hm? Hm? Where are berries when you need them?" she thought outloud.
