Being a stylist who loved to make others beautiful, he thought about this inner beauty. was it possibly to style the soul? to make one feel beautiful on the both inside and the outside. he was a master at mane styling and coat condition, and hoof care. but he had no idea what it took to take care of the soul. for this reason he was heading back to his herd. he needed to councel with Kenton. he needed to see if it would be ok for him to leave for a long period of time to find his answers.
He came upon the clearing that his herd was currently occupying. it wasent hard to find. the males did a good job at marking the territory. there was a slight breeze that ruffled through the grass as if it was one big mane. there were a few out and about, most would be off doing duties at this time. he took in a big whiff of the air. it smelled like home.

Dia had taken over as the main watcher for the children when she had grown. She had been very sad when she was little and Premaz had been asked to leave for a while. He had been her best friend and she had liked having him around to play. She grew up knowing that she wanted to be loved and love to teach and enjoy the younger ones when she was an adult as well. She loved children. She stood on the edge of the clearing and watched the few little ones that were still around. She smiled as she thought about how much fun she had had growing up with a few of them and they all loved her.
She played games, she taught them to run. She told stories to them and they enjoyed walking around with her and having fun with the playful adult. She was walking along the tree line when she saw him...Premaz. He was pretty as ever and she stopped to look at him. She stood there as she wind ruffled her short mane and her necklace feathers and she smiled. She was too worried about why he was back to move so she just stood there and watched him as the clouds moved and light spilled over her in a bright wave as she watched him. Spicy Marmalade! Premaz stepped into the clearing. something caught his eye in his peripheral vision. there not too far from him along the tree line stood a young mare. not young as in childlike, but young as in fresh in life. she stood tall, her muscles filled, her colors bright, and on top of her head was an explosion of red. he could not help but smile. it was Dia. she had grown since he left, quite considerably too. Kenton knew what he was doing when he sent Premaz away perfectly during Dia's growth spurt. she was now a women.
with a light prance in his step he walked over to her. she was the closest face to him that he recognized, but she was also the person he wanted to see most. once he reached her he smiled broadly and nodded, almost bowed. Dia was an adult now, his natural manner towards women kicked in almost automatically. he had to curt, kind, and caring. he knew this. he had women down to a pin. he had once even pretended to be gay so that he could get closer to mares and understand the secret feelings of their hearts. after he nodded his tossed his mane, "Diantha, even though i have not been gone for too long i see that is was enough for time to come and bless you with adulthood." he took the last few steps forward to close the gap between them and gave her a quick hug, then stepped back again, "im being glad to see you again."

Dia smiled at him as he came closer. She felt all flustered and shy suddenly. She smiled as she looked over him, looked at how much more...attractive he was now. His hair was even better looking then it had been before. She smiled and waited till he was closer. He bowed to her and she smiled as she tilted her head to him. "You need to bow to me now do you? Yes...I've grown. I...I'm glad to see you again as well Premaz." She said with a small blush under her purple fur of her face.
She looked over him and then looked away shyly. "How...was your journey? Did...you do anything fun while you were away?" she asked with another glance at him as she waited for her answer. She wasn't sure why she was so nervous around him right now, but she felt nervous...she was fine around all the other males in the herd...why was she nervous with him now that he was back.

"as a man i will acknowledge a woman." he nodded again and then turned slightly and tilted his head towards a nice looking patch of grass in the sun. "traveled a long ways, can we please sit as we talk?" he turned and went to the place in question and sat down. it felt great, like bricks had been removed from his legs. "now, my journey was long, but i saw many beautiful things. i saw meadows and flowers. i saw much of the worlds beauty." when premaz began talking of his passion, which is beautiful things, he tends to slip out of his carefully crafted accent. "i also learned a great deal. about many different types of beautiful. i met a very beautiful mare who opened my eyes and showed me a new kind of beauty that i had thought was unimportant" while saying all this he had been gazing off into the distance. he looked to Dia and smiled. "but my travels are not much to brag of, what have you done with me gone?"

Dia walked with him to the spot that he said and sat next to him. she listened to him talking and smiled. He had found a pretty mare. He had learned alot about life and being out there. She smiled even though she felt some kind of sadness. She nodded and watched him. "Theres beauty everywhere, and theres beauty where ever you look." she said as she looked over at him and smiled. "Me? Oh i just started doing what you did. I take care of the little ones. We dont have very many of them really now but i helped raise a few of them." she said looking around at them all.
She looked at him. "I try to raise them and make them happy the way that...well you made me happy when i was little. I try to keep them happy and entertained. I race and play. I make things fun and teach them what to do and not to do. How to be a good adult when they grow up." she looked down and then over at him. "I grew up wonderfully thanks to you and i couldn't be happier." she said even though she was sure that she thought of one thing she could be happier about.

Premaz looked over to the little ones that were playing in the sunshine. it was beautiful to see them all so happy and healthy. Dia surely did do a good job. "im glad to hear that you enjoy your work. i loved nothing more than playing with little deer folks. i hate to admit it, but you were one of my favorites to play with. that is part of the reason i had to go before." he turned and smiled at Dia. "making others happy makes me happy. i am happy that you are happy. i am also glad to see that there was someone willing and capable to take my place, for you see i will not be taking it back any time soon." he looked off into the distance pondering about his big questions in life. there was beauty in the soul. how does one make a soul beautiful? what even is a soul? he needed the answers to these questions.

Dia watched him as he looked around. Not...taking it back? She frowned and looked down at the ground. "Your...leaving...again?" she said softly as she glanced at him. "I cant imagine not keeping everyone happy. If i'm not making others happy i'm sleeping." she said. She smiled a little. She never made herself happy, cause Premaz was never around till now. She didn't, and couldn't tell him that. She sighed. "When...are you leaving again?" she asked as she glanced over at him and smiled softly. Atleast maybe she could just enjoy talking with him before he left...Left her alone again to just please everyone around her.

Premaz looked away for a moment thinking how to best put this. he looked back at her with a face that was trying to look happy, but underneath had something heavy on the mind. "well i came back simply to talk to Kenton. i ask him if i can go again, if its ok that i go, if the herd is staffed enough without me so i can go searching." he nodded at Dia. he knew that it would not be a sufficient answer to her, but he did not quite know how to say what he was thinking and wasent even sure exactly what he was looking for. if Dia was interested in knowing then he would hve to start from the beginning to explain his thoughts and his reason for leaving. but if she did not ask then he would just leave it at that and keep him business between him and Kenton.

Diantha looked at him and looked at the ground. She flicked her tail against the grass and then looked back at him again. "So...you don't want to stay here and...know everyone better? You don't want to know...me...better?" she said as she turned her purple eyes up at him. "What are you looking for that you couldn't find here?" she asked as she looked at him and then looked away. She wanted to know what he was after. She wanted to know why he wanted to leave her again. She cared so much for him, didn't he care for her too? Or...was she just dealing with a one-sided crush on the older male and she needed to stop thinking that she could be more then just a child to him. She twitched her ear as a fly buzzed around it and she watched him. "Can i do something to talk you into staying?" She asked.

Premaz sighed and shook his head. she wanted to know, so he would tell her. there was no sense in lieing, so he would tell her everything, even if it hurt. he looked at her with a serious face. it felt weird to have that face, he had not done anything serious in his life since he had become a stylist and pulled the flamboyant act. it was nice having everything be nothing but fun and games, but he needed to grow up, he needed to have his question answered. he nodded and dropped his silly accent completely. it would be easier to explain without having to pretend to be happy go lucky.
"well little Dia. i will explain from the begining. i was not always from here. i came from the Cerynei lands farthest from the soquili lands. we were a strange people who saught beauty and had great pride. marriage was based purley on how good the couple looked to gether, and how attractive the offspring would be. we wanted nothing but to breed perfection. when the fires came and burned down our lands many of my people died. very few of us live on. i came here and took on the name Premaz and the mannor of those soquili who dont seek female company. at first it hurt my eyes to see the uglyness and impurities of the world. i had grown up with nothing but perfection in looks and mannors. so i made it my goal to help bring beauty to this land too. i traveled helping mare and stallion alike makeing them more beautiful. weather it be a hair cut, or a little paint on the coat. a trimming of overgrown or desiesed hoofs, i could do it all and brought beauty to many." he paused for a moment to think how to explain his current situation. "i met Kenton who had dreams of forming a Cerynei herd. it made me much glad to think that i could live with my kind again, so i joined. i took the position of nanny so that i could help raise foals in my image of beauty." he looked to the edge of the clearing and then back to Dia.
"remember that day i took you to the river, just to two of us. well my real objective was to see if you would grow to be beautiful, or if you needed help along the way. it saddened me to notice a stunt in your main, for often beauty lies in thick long healthy manes. i went to Kenton and asked if i could go search for some herbs that might help in your hairs growth. he found the request desturbing. he thought that i wished to make you beautiful for my own purposes. he had the wrong idea, i just simply wanted to help, but he did not understand. he sent me away so that i would not be tempted to favor you among the other foals."
he playfully sighed. "sorry for the long explination, but it is nessisary." he nibbled on some grass to wet his throat and then continued. "now we come to the main point. while away i met a mare who was interesting. she was ashamed of her face and wore a frightful skull to hide it. after getting to know her better i found myself taking quite a liking to her. this disterbed me for she was not a think of beauty, but far from it. i was baffled. to think that i could like something not bred from beauty. on my way back i thought about the encounter and came to wonder...well, are there two types of beauty?" he looked thoughtfully into the sky. if felt good to explain this to someone, but he was not sure how she would take it.
"so you see, i am leaving to learn about the body, all aspects of it both physical and mental. i want to learn of the beauty of the inside. i will search out the shaman type and seek for answers of the soul. that is why i must go, for i dont think i ca find any of those answers here." he finished and waited for Dia to absorb all that he had said, for it really was quite a bit of information at one time.

Dia listened to him. She listened to all of it and really wasn't sure what to think about it all. He had been pretending all this time to be something he wasn't? She frowned and looked at the grass as he finished explaining. So he was leaving again...and he really couldn't find what he wanted here with her. She looked up at him and nodded. "I see. Well as well as i can about what you mean." she said as she watched him. She was sad that he was leaving but she didn't see any way that she could stop him. "So you...have this other female to get back to while you travel around looking for all this? She must be really beautiful on the inside." she said as she looked away at the sky.
She sighed to her self and looked at him. "Did...you miss me at all? Wonder what i was up to?" she asked softly as she looked at the grass again. She wanted to go with but if he had that other female then he didn't need her. Not to mention that he had known she wouldn't be beautiful. Her hair wasn't long enough...stupid hair having to be so short and never grow! Ruined all her chances with the only male she had ever wanted. "How long are you staying? When your done are you coming back?" she asked looking at him again. Her face was sad, her eyes even sadder as she felt close to tears at the idea that she had held onto him in her heart for so long and it might all have been for nothing. Everyone had told her he wasn't coming back, and now he was and he was leaving again for who knew how long this time. She didn't know if she would wait this time. She sighed softly as she waited for her answer.

"oh..." Premaz stopped himself from saying anything. he could see the sadness on her face, and finally grasped the meaning of her words. she had missed him. a lot aperantly. he could not help but feel that this feeling of hers was only natural and should have been expected. he was, after all, the first adult male that she had had interaction with. as she grew into an adult herself her first feelings must be directed at him.
he looked down at the grass thinking really hard about what to say next. she thought he had another mare, but this was not true. he had a love for all things beautiful, so he loved this other mare, but not in the way that Dia was thinking. he realized it would be best to set that thought straight first. "Dia i do not love this other mare in the way that you think. love is a term that my people used very lightly for we were not practicers of the love that you know here. that is, the love kept between two's feelings. we loved simply to have beautiful children. this being said, i have never loved anyone before."
he was not sure how to deal with the other part of the problem gently, so he just talked until he felt like he got his point across. "while away i did think of you. as i pointed out earlier, kenton sent me away because he thought i had taken a fancy to you. normally this would not be a problem, but you were so young. i had not thought about you in that way before, until Kenton pointed it out that is. what is that saying that people here use...absense makes the heart grow stronger?" he nodded his head and looked back at her. "im not sure what you are thinking, but i dont know if i can give you the kind of love that you seek...not yet that is. i could sire beautiful children, but i think the love that you want goes farther than that." he felt a small pang of guilt as the thought of Kenton passes through his mind. Kenton loved their mistress Cali in a beautiful way. they are together, linked by a bond that only the soul can understand. yet they did not have any children.
"i dont know what true love is. the kind that keeps two souls together for a life time. and im not sure if you are old enough to teach it to me." he held her gaze ready for whatever would come next. mares were soft things, like rain clouds. one little probe and it would rain. he looked Dia over wondering what it would be like to have her on his travels. he would not mind the extra company, but he did not want to be distracted either. plus, could the herd still function without one of its best nannies?

Dia looked at him. He sure had alot to say on this subject. She shook what little mane she had and looked away as she fought off the tears even more. He wasn't with the other mare. That was good atleast. She sighed thought and closed her eyes. He didn't love her. He didn't know what that was. How could he not? She had such an ache in her heart for him and he didn't know how to return the feelings. She sighed, eyes still closed against the tears. "You don't love me then? You don't understand that i need you beside me? That i want you in my life? How could you not understand it?" she finally looked at him, somehow still able to keep the tears back.
"I'm glad to know you don't love the other one. But i don't...know how to stop loving you. And i don't know what i'm supposed to do if you don't love me." She sighed and looked at the grass to hide a tear that slipped through. "Love where your souls are together for ever is needing them. Not being able to be away from them with out thinking of them. Wanting to have children even if they arnt going to be beautiful. To have them just cause you want to be a family and not just to make beautiful children. And sometimes its not having them just so you can spend more time together." She looked at him and sighed. "I don't care if i'm not old enough. I could try to show you how to love, and even if you don't want to love me like i love you i could atleast help you love someone. Premez i just want to spend time with you, yes i'd like it to keep us together and then i can be yours but...If i only get to just be around you more then that will do just fine i guess."
she stood cause she felt that she needed to get a little further away from him. She sighed and glanced down at him. "If Kenton will let me go with you then id like to. If not then...then i don't know when i'll see you next right?" she said sadly as she looked back to the sky and closed her eyes against more tears.

Premaz nodded to himself. so she knew something about the soul. he stood up also to stretch out his legs. being raised the way he was would take time to break old habits of seeing only the outside, but this was a necessary process. he looked at Dia and smiled. "do not sound to sad little one. sadness is an unnecessary feeling in this world. we live short lives, there is only time for happiness." he took and deep breath and sighed. "let us go and see what Kenton has to say in this matter."
he chuckled and turned towards were Kenton should be on duty. "normally it would be customary to adress the Alpha with this matter, but i know Kenton better and would feel more comfortable sharing my thoughts with him than with Alpha. plus Kenton knows me well also so he would know some of my feelings without me having to explain them." he thought of the Stag Kenton. if Premaz really were a lover of men then he would have liked to pursue Kenton, but Premaz is quite straight and sees Kenton like his big brother.
"if Kenton sees my travels as just and fitting then i will head out imediatly. it is up to you to convince him that it is ok for you to come with me. i would not mind having a little company on the trails. if all turns in your favor then maybe we can see about this love thing that you so desire of me." he chuckled playfully. it was no laughing matter, but he was feeling a little heavy in the mood and wished to return to his act of always being playful and happy. "one thing i must tell you though. while i am out on trail i pretend the life of a lover of males. the reason for this is simple. when a mare knows that the stag is not interested in her she will show her true side. she will not be afraid of being juged because there is no potential between her and him. so this side that you saw of me today will not be seen again." he smiled at her and then began to walk to Kenton. it was up to Dia if she was wiling to try and turn him into a lover.
