Now, she was a pretty level-headed girl, and she knew that it wouldn't do either of them any good if she spoiled Xiaoli. Unfortunately, she was also easily manipulated and, let's face it, a huge pushover. In contrast, Xiaoli was a Pokemon who knew exactly what he wanted and how to get it. While Zhengling had staff to help her run her company (and to make sure that she didn't do anything stupid), no one thought that they would have to help protect her from her only Pokemon.
If Xiaoli wanted something, he would get it. By the time two weeks had passed, he had already discovered various methods that would get him whatever he pleased. Staring at Zhengling with teary eyes and a pleading expression had landed him his first prize: a luxury ball. From then on, he used this and various other means (cute expressions worked the best, he found) to get a variety of other things--things that included very pricey gifts, like his own room (why he would need his own room was beyond Zhengling, but she fell for it in the end anyways). By the time he finally evolved into a Jaroda, he began to turn his attention to other people as well. By this point, it wasn't so much him wanting anything anymore rather than a game for him to play. This was how he pretty much lived his life as a Pokemon--by learning how to, in a mild sense of the word, swindle others.
And now that he has become a handsome young man with an attractive smirk and who, most importantly, can talk? Well, he definitely doesn't plan on stopping what he does best anytime soon.♔ PERSONALITY“A sly rogue is often in good dress”
If he ever asks you to trust him with something that pertains to your money, for the love of god, don't do it. While he may look innocent, you can be assured that he's formulating a plan behind that smile of his. Xiaoli knows what to say to get people's attention and to suck up. Compliments seem to roll off his tongue with ease, and he's always willing to use his charm to cheer someone up or, in a less selfless situation, manipulate someone to get what he wants.
He's a natural charmer and, in turn, he's also quite the flirt--he'll pretty much flirt with anything with breasts, and occasionally other guys just for fun. However, as he's not interested in a serious relationship, he always makes it known upfront that he doesn't believe in love and so they shouldn't expect anything more than a fling from him. This may change with time, but such is his current outlook.“We are all born brave, trusting and greedy, and most of us remain greedy.”
He's never really satisfied with what he has. If a brand name company comes out with a new shirt, you can be sure that he'd want it, even if he just bought eight new shirts the other day. Heck, he'd buy it even if it was hideous--it's not so much that he wants to wear it, rather that he likes to feel that he owns things of value. “Man is a clever animal who behaves like an imbecile.”
Xiaoli is actually...surprisingly knowledgeable about a wide range of topics. He likes learning, so he puts a lot of his effort into his schoolwork and studying. Of course, that's not to say that he likes every subject. Just because he's decent at math and history doesn't mean that he likes spitting out numbers and memorizing dates. Honestly, he just can't bear to see anything lower than an A--or, god forbid, a B--on any of his tests of papers. It hurts his ego.“The arrogant army will lose the battle for sure”
Speaking of ego, he has a huge one. Ginormous. He's proud of both his appearance and his smarts, and he's not afraid to brag about either. In fact, he gets pretty upset if anyone implies something or takes a hit at him, so he's kind of self conscious in public (not that you can tell since he shoves it under that confident facade of his). No one likes being put into embarrassing situations, but Xiaoli here absolutely hates it--he'll probably run out of the room crying like a little girl plan some sort of payback if someone was the source of his embarrassment. Man, does this guy ever hold grudges!“Flow with whatever may happen and let your mind be free. Stay centered by accepting whatever you are doing. This is the ultimate.”
Xiaoli isn't the type to judge. He frankly doesn't care what your past was like or what walk of life you're from. You could have been a thief or someone who was as spoiled as he was (though it was unintentional in his case) and he'd treat you the same anyways. He's not the type to judge someone based off of their past, but he likes to keep an open mind and accept others for who they are. Sure, Bob here may have been convinced of several felonies, but he's changed guys, and that's all that matters. Likes:
♔ Money: Pretty much anything of monetary worth
♔ Flirting: Just for fun as he's not serious about relationships. He mostly flirts with women, but he doesn't discriminate~
♔ Sweets: His weakness. If you need a favour from him and you don't want to pay a fortune, you can probably bribe him with a few cheap boxes of chocolates or something (as long as they aren't those chocolates filled with cherry liquor--he hates those)
♔ Psychology: Honestly, it's hard to tell whether he likes psychology because he has a genuine interest in it, or if he just likes figuring out new ways to get people to give him stuff.
♔ Jewelry: Earrings, ear cuffs, rings, bracelets, necklaces--he wears them all, and has a huge stash. He's not one for wearing excessive amounts, but he never leaves his room in the morning without a few rings at least.Dislikes:
♔ Stiff or formal clothing: He'll make "adjustments" to them until they're comfortable
♔ Fire: Okay, so he's not really a grass snake anymore, but it still makes him fidgety as hell
♔ Romance: Romance novels, movies, poetry, whatever. Honestly, he doesn't see what the big deal is and he finds all the plots to be ridiculous. Oh, and Valentines Day? The only good thing about the holiday is the candy~
♔ People who can't take a joke: Loosen up, people!
♔ Cravats: Kind of fits under formal clothing, but...yeah. Zhengling tended to shove one around his neck whenever they had some fancy business dinner to attend to. For some reason, no matter how many pleading looks he would give her, his trainer was always dead set on making him wear the blasted, frilly thing. He swears that, as a human, he will never wear one of things again. Ever.

♔ Maybe include some jewelry? ;u; Whatever kind is up to you, though I'd like his ears to be pierced if possible~
♔ If you want, and if it fits with whatever pose you have in mind for him, draw him flicking a coin?
♔ Draw what you want from that reference on the above post--I decided to go with a semi-custom as I really don't have a set visual in mind for him, so whatever you think looks good is fine by me.
