User ImageBlasted squirrel, always taking off on me... With fiery orange eyes set into a fierce glare, the mare trotted through the wooded area. Searching for any sign of Iccarus, who had gone MIA. The furry thorn in her side didn't seem to be adapting to the arrival of Janus well, but there was no need for him to up and vanish on her.

When she found him, she would yell at him, and them trample him for making her search for him. Annoying little s**t, making her worry like this...

Her steps slowed and her nostrils flared as she let out a loud sigh. Why was she doing this? It wasn't like it was a rare thing for Iccarus to wander off on his own. And he always returned. So why was she making it into such a big deal this time?

Could it be that she was simply using his absence as an excuse to get away for a while?

She had become so accustomed to living with just a chattering squirrel for company. Adjusting to having Janus in her life once more, was hard.

"Oh my..." The sound of the voice seemed to carry a mix of worry and slight slight annoyance. The type of annoyance that was still annoyance, but yet it was accustomed annoyance, like the owner of the voice had been through the problem several times before. And it was true, the cerynei had been through his current predicament several times before, and yet, he never learned.

With a frown on his face, and worry in his eyes, Kahlil gave a gentle tug of his antlers, his feathers swaying and beads jingling and clacking against each other. His antlers were tangled within a low hanging branch of a tree that sat at the edge of a clearing. This tree was one he was resting under not along ago, but he got up to fast after his nap and look where it got him, stuck...

Whimpering, the stallion gave another tug, but this time his ears perked in fear when he caught the sound of someone approaching

That's it, the black striped mare gave a resolute stomp of her hoof, I will not waste anymore time looking for that little s**t.

The mare turned to return home, but paused mid-turn. She wasn't ready to go back, not yet. To go back would be to return to the tension filled air and awkward conversation. It was true that with time, the tension and awkwardness was fading, but it wasn't gone. Not yet. There were still more words that wanted, and needed, to be said. And, there was still anger.

She knew it was there, and she knew that Janus knew it was still there. She also knew that Janus could handle pretty much anything that spouted from her mouth. So, what was it that kept her from just erupting and getting it all over with?

Before the mare's thoughts could go any farther, her attention was snared by odd noises coming from the direction in which she had originally been traveling. It almost sounded like a struggle. Curious, her legs began to move.

User Image From his perch up in the tree, Iccarus watched the stallion below. A chattering cackle escaped the squirrel's lips as he began to descend branch by branch, eager to get a look at the poor stallion. And maybe, make off with one of the stallion's little ornaments. They would look nice with his treasures back home. Treasures that he kept hidden, or tried to keep hidden, from the stallion that, as far as he was concerned, had invaded the life of him and his charge.

"Oh please, anything but this..."

Kahlil carefully watched as the black and white squirrel descend from above. To him he might as well have been a helpless mouse while the squirrel was some kind of hawk, and it was for good reason he had this thought. From past accidents like this he new very well that certain creatures really didn't like to be disturbed or have their tree homes "invaded" in such a manner, and from the look in the squirrel's eyes he knew the little guy was plotting something. What exactly that was he didn't know, but it was something...

"A-are you here to help me little guy?"

Dumb question on his part, but it was worth of shot to see if the creature could be swayed. I mean, who really wanted to be known as the stallion who was taken down and cheated by a lone squirrel?

A chattering cackle escaped the squirrel's mouth as he skittered down a branch and then perched himself upon one of Kahlil's antlers. He tapped his nose with a finger while completely ignoring the stallion to whom the antlers were attached. His focus was solely on the beads and feathers, which he intended to claim as his own.

Cooing, he reached out a black paw to stroke one of the blue feathers.

When the source of the noise came into sight, it was not what Danari had been expecting. She'd been expecting for a scuffle of some form, not some poor sap of a Cerynei with his antlers tangled in branches. For a moment, she simply stood and watched, her head cocked as she tried to decipher just how she felt about this situation. Pity? A little. Amused? Most definitely.

Content to sit back and enjoy the spectacle until it no longer served a source of amusement, Danari settled in her place. Until she noted the black ball of fluff making it self at home on the stallion's trapped antlers. Growling, the mare's lips pulled back to reveal her teeth as she barked out, "Hold it!"

Kahlil may have not been the one that the order was being directed at, but he sure as hell followed it like the spineless sap he was most of the time. It was only in his nature after all. Ever since foalhood he had been trained, and lived, as, well, a lackey of sorts. However, he wasn't supposed to take orders from just anybody, no. He was supposed to follow, take order from, and protect his good friend, and the one whom was shouting in his direction sure wasn't her.

Blinking, the tall male turned his attention towards the black and white figure. He didn't know her, so he wouldn't really understand why she would be yelling at him, that is unless he was doing something to anger her.

"A-are you talking to me?"

A derisive snort escaped the mare when instead of the one the order was intended for following it, the victim did. She hoped it was due to the cerynei being ignorant about the little their currently perched up on his antlers rather some form of mental slowness. Though, the latter would explain how the stallion ended up in this situation in the first place.

"No. I'm talking to the rodent perched on your noggin." Her lips twisted into a smirk as she cocked her head. "But if you want to hold still, go right ahead."

The squirrel released a purring chirp as he hugged and nuzzled the feather. So soft, so blue. He wanted it. His tiny clawed fingers ran up the feather to try and work off the string attaching the feather to the stallion's antlers.

"Knock it off or I will stomp on you," snapped Danari as she approached the trapped cerynei. "He's got enough problem without you robbing him. Damn pest."
