Sparrowkit/paw's mentor: Moonpelt

Moonpelt helped Icepelt to the ceremony and Sparrowkit walked beside them. "I can't wait!" Sparrowkit mewed. "I know, I know." Moonpelt meowed. "I am so proud of you Moonpelt." Icepelt whispered.

Hauntedheart watched the ceremony from the shadows of the camp. She sighed and shook her head. She felt bad for putting Icepelt in the elders den but she knew it was right. A warm breeze ruffled her pelt and she stars into the eyes of the fox-colored tom. Hauntedheart smiled as the cat licked her cheek. "Hello Hauntedheart," the cat purred, his amber eye glowing. "Foxclaw! I missed you," Hauntedheart whispered and nuzzled her dead mate. It felt so good to see him again, it brought back good memories. "Did what you tell Icepelt true? About Sparrowkit?" she asked and Foxclaw shrugged. "I don't know Hauntedheart. He called me when I had nothing to tell him. Sparrowkit may or may not be reborn. It depends if a queen is about to give birth when he dies he might be reborn. If a queen isn't carrying kits then it's very unlikely. We can't guarantee it. We didn't make Icepelt blind nor did we do anything in his life. We can't control cat's futures or what happens after death. You know that" Foxclaw told his mate softy. Hauntedheart nodded and curled her tail around her paws. She glanced at the ground for a second. Lifting her head to speak, she saw that her mate was gone. "Goodbye Foxclaw."

Hauntedheart padded back toward her den, trying her best to avoid Icepelt and his family. She spotted Dawnkit and sighed. She wasn't sure if she was ready for another apprentice yet or if Dawnkit was even interested in becoming a medicine cat.
