Faction/Race Monsters - Tikbalang
Personality: Basic "notes"
Count to ten before hitting? Fine. TEN!
It doesn't take a lot for Petro to lose his temper and doesn't realize someone is baiting or provoking him. However, just because he has a temper doesn't mean he will fly off the handle over every little thing.
I usually let my fists do the talking.
When faced with a problem, Petro's first choice is to hit it. If that doesn't work, he will hit it harder. Again and again until someone smarter (or less prone to violence) points out to the monster pony that no, that's not going to work and shows him why.
This doesn't mean he's a bully, however. He doesn't go looking for a fight but he sure as hell won't back down no matter how outmatched and outclassed he is. Stubborn monster pony is stubborn!
Give it to me straight.
Petro doesn't like to beat around the bush. He is straightforward, blunt, and does not mince words. He means no malice by it (if he really wanted to hurt you, he'd probably go through the physical route) but if you want someone to sugarcoat or to tell you white lies, Petro probably isn't the best monster to approach. On the other hand, he appreciates honesty and will not begrudge the same treatment.
I'm Horse on the prince charming. Or something.
No, Petro is not a ladies man nor is he a smooth operator. He's a little too blunt to be capable of turning on the charm. This just means that he thinks ghouls are more important. (It may be because he's such a mama's boil and he won't find any shame about that but Jack help you if you tell a "Your Mama" joke to him.) And he would really, really, really, really rather not have to fight a female. Not because he thinks the fairer sex cannot take as good as they give (his mama and cousins have proven that Yes, they can), it just makes him really uncomfortable. He will defend himself but he's not likely to make the first strike.
I'm not trying to be a hero :/
Between his own personal well-being and someone else's, Petro will choose the other person. The desire and need to protect and defend had been hammered into him even before he learned his name. As such, even if he does not like you, he will take the blow for you if he is physically able to. There are only two times when he will not do everything in his power to protect someone: The first is if saving you would be detrimental to everyone else (sorry, good of the many outweigh the few). The second is if you refused his help the first time around. Because, really, Petro has other things to do (like defend himself or someone else who wants it). If the other person later decides it's a-ok for Petro to help them, then they're going to need to ask him.
While Petro isn't going to go on a crusade to find someone in need, if he sees someone being bullied or in need of assistance right in front of him, he will not hesitate to help. Unless, again, the aforementioned "someone in need" had turned him down before. He does have the ability to learn from experience.
Herding instincts are GO!
He comes from a fairly large clan (it has to be if they're going to be protecting thousands upon thousands of acres of forestry) and is used to being in groups. Unfortunately because his specie tends to keep to themselves, he's somewhat wary of other species especially those he's never heard of or seen before. He does not necessarily think one race is better than the other but he's just not immediately as open as he would like to be. As a compromise, he likes to hang out in the fringes of groups to listen and pretend he's part of the herd until he either becomes comfortable enough around them or his desire to socialize wins out.
Petro is not a leader. He doesn't want to be the leader and will likely pass this responsibility to someone else if he can. The only time he will suck it up and accept such a position is if it's what the group wants.
DON'T TOUCH THE 'DO!
Not really a personality trait inasmuch as something that every single tikbalang shares. If you try to ride him without his consent? He will lash out. And if you try to touch his mane without his knowledge he will go berserk. This is because he associates being ridden as an attempt to tame him, and if you successfully pull out any of the three longest, sharpest spikes in his mane, he will become your servant. His bahag, though, is fair game XD
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Tro comes from a long line of Guardian Tikbalangs. His family has been protecting several acres of forestry from poachers, illegal loggers, pesky scouts (of the boy and girl variety), and condo-developers for centuries. But what his family line has to boast about is how none of them have been tamed. There has never been any human brave or strong enough to tame a tikbalang from his bloodline.
Of course, with pride comes ego, and when a rival clan questioned their ability, challenged the verity of their claim, the elders saw it fit to put their pumpkin seeds where their mouth is. Their rivals accused them that they hid away, that removing the opportunity of being tamed made them cowards. So the elders decided to send one of their promising warriors who was not the chief's son (the clan was, to a degree, mildly xenophobic and couldn't risk someone of such importance) to the Academy, thus exposing him to the possibility of being tamed.
Petro didn't put up a fight nor did he question the decision. Duty and honor made him accept the journey to go beyond the clan's territory on his own. His mommy fearest's wishes made him determined not to fail or get tamed.
Natural Ability: All tikbalangs have the ability to shapeshift into a completely human form. His tikbalang form is basically what a minotaur would look like if they were half-horse instead of half-bull.
FEAR: CHAAAAAARGE!!!! - Because of Petro's straightforward and blunt nature, he channels his fear to boost the damage done by his attack. In his first year, two 6-sided dice will be rolled. The first dice will determine who gets damaged (even his opponent, odd himself) and the second dice will determine the amount. In his second year, two 6-sided dice will be rolled. The first dice determines how much damage he inflicts on his opponent, the second dice determines the damage he inflicts on himself (like the way you roll for the snow-cannon). In his third year, it will be similar to his second year ability only with two 8-sided dice.
Physical Description:
Eye Colour: Brown
Hair Colour/Style: In his tikbalang form: a row of black spikes for his mane, with the first three being the thickest and sharpest, while those after is tied back into a low pony(hurr hurr)tail. In his human form: he has three, extra thick black strands that are styled into separate spikes starting from his hairline while the rest of his hair is tied back into a low ponytail.
Skin Colour: Tanned
Clothing Style/Colours: A bahag or loincloth in Halloween colors or rainbow-colored but with a Halloween-themed pattern. He's used to being naked so a bahag already feels overdressed for him. He will be wearing a bahag be it in his completely human form or his tikbalang form. The skull pin is likely to be pinned on his bahag or embedded into one of his gold bracelets/anklets.
Extra: He has a tattoo across the bridge of his nose, the tattoo itself signifies that he's reached a turning point in his life. While he is muscular, he's built more like a runner than an all-out brawler and will "grow into" his muscles in a few years. Petro is also fairly tall, not as large as G but still pretty tall. His left ear has a bit of it "missing", like he used to have an ear-piercing there but got it ripped off in a scuffle.
References: what a tikbalang form would look like, what Petro would usually wear, a "tamed" tikbalang, note the human body.

These are meant to give the artist and idea of what a tikbalang looks like and suggestions of what he is likely to wear. Petro's mane is styled differently than the references, and his clothing would be different as well.
Emblem Ideas: Maybe the three "sharp spikes" of his mohawk? ISDK D8
