I want to know how many other people have fallen in the middle of their show. Maybe just to make me feel better about falling at our homecoming show.
I thought I'd twisted my ankle but turns out I didn't somehow. Also, luckily, I'd fallen on a prep for a close, so I jumped up and acted like nothing happened. Now, though, I wonder if I should have stayed down since we lunged on count 3 of the hold then kneeled on count 13, but oh well.

I've never fallen at a show, but I believe I fell twice freshman year during rehearsal because my backwards technique went out the window.
In my defense, we were marching at like a 180+ bpm tempo at pretty much backwards 4-5's. <<;

I haven't fallen during a show yet...though once in a parade I tripped on a bump in the road and nearly fell flat on my face.
I'm always afraid of falling in the tunnel (which we march out of for pregame show at 240 bpm so it's practically running). Someone actually did fall during rehearsal for tunnel the other day. I'm surprised they weren't trampled to death. sweatdrop

I have yet to fall during a show (which is my biggest fear when marching backwards) and I'm awfully glad I haven't considering my band has white uniforms and it'd leave a noticeable mark. DX I also play tuba so it'd hurt. A lot. o_o I have managed to twist both my ankles and just LIMP the show though...

I've never fallen during a preformance, but i've fallen twice in rehersal. Since our practice field gets pretty much stripped of all grass in june, when it rains it's a huge mud pit. the week before a competition it rained all week, and at an evening rehersal i turned and slid. and fell on my a**. the second time i didn't fall, i tripped on this huge hole in the field and did an epic flying leap and finished the set. it would've been more epic if i would've stayed in step.

I've fallen once, and luckily it was during rehearsal. c:
We were in Texas, practicing in San Antonio for one of our competitions. It had rained the night before, so the field was muddy and lacked grass.
We were repping the show, and we were towards the end of fourth movement. The bass drums (what I march) had to move behind the snares and tenors in eight counts (our tempo was waaayyy fast). Well...
The girl who marched bass one made an uh-oh and almost hit the snares. Naturally, she stopped. Our section leader, bass two, hit her, and that caused an entire chain reaction. My head is on the drum major, so I can't see the girl in front of me (bass 3). She stops, ad I slam into her back at full speed. I slide and fall on my butt as bass 5 almost runs me over. So, I just sat there and played since we didn't move from that spot on the field.
At the end I hear my band director yell, "Are you all right?!"
I said I was fine, and one of the snares turns and says to me, "Is the drum all right?"
I told him, "The drum is perfectly fine."

I can tell you a quite interesting thing that happened to me o 3o We were doing these 4 count moves and I was tying my shoe... Our band director already started counting off so I marched a whole 16 counts while hopping on 1 foot and I didn't get hurt nor did anyone else get hurt xD I got a few laughs from everyone who saw though xD

I've only fallen once but there was MANY MANY MANY cases where i was really dang close to falling..... There was this one set where we have to turn a square and the person in front of me was way to close (backwards marching) and she stepped on my foot and well.... you know how it goes

I've persoanlly never fallen, but there is this one festival, The Flowing wells festival, thta soemone falls every eyar. Last year, a freshman clarinet fell(hialriously, because i hate here). Well, that festival was last saturday. Our drum major slipped real bad and almsot hurt himself, and then a tuba kneeled down and apparently almsot fell over. The judges commented on his fall, even the music judgesXD

I've never fallen during a show, but I have fallen alot! Like 5 times in Indoor Drumline. The one time I fell, slipped and slid into a band locker (I think I broke it) when we were doing suicides I fell once at the end of our ballad and couldn't stop laughing when people asked if I was ok I was once on the wrong foot and we were marching backwards in a tight line and I fell I once fell over our prop and then there were a bunch of other times oh! and in outdoor, i fell backwards and like 17 pages from my dotbook ripped out. I t was funny then once i was in the band room and i was walking backwards when i fell over the box. Apparently I looked really calm going down.
