I just thought I would post up some of the differences between the different races seen around this school. No, I don't mean color of skin. I mean species. Feel free to add or comment on any of the things I post here. Most of what I post is my own personal opinion and some of it is from studying a lot of different folk lore and what not to come to various conclusions, and while some of the species may seem or look the same there are differences between them.
Also note that here at Reed's races are not hispanic, japanese, russian, or any other "race" that is found in the real world ... I personally just view what the general population call "race" as Nationality as we are considered the race of man as a whole.
So I hope you all come by and look through this forum. Enjoy what I've written but please don't outright just say I'm wrong about something ... if you think I or anyone else is incorrect explain why we are wrong or just write down your own conclusions on this subject. Thanks ^_^

Werewolf vs. Lycan:: ..... both species transform into a wolf like creature. ..... lycan's can learn to control the change and can become self aware. Some of them can learn these as early as their first full moon. .....werewolves have no option to change, when the full moon rises in the night sky they change into a raging beast.
Changeling vs. Shape-shifter vs. Spirit Warriors vs. Shifters:: ..... all can change shapes at will ..... changelings can only transform into other humanoids. their natural state is usually a gray skinned humanoid of sorts. ..... shape-shifters transform into various animals or humanoids. their natural state being that of a shadow like blob. ..... spirit warriors can only change into one animal form. this is usually one that they have made a pact with. spirit warriors tend to be of the native american bloodlines. ..... shifters can only transform into various animals.
Vampire vs. Vampyre:: ..... to most fans vampyre is just a bad spelling of the word and some even find it offensive. ..... personal opinion is that one(Vampyre) is used to represent a person afflicted with a lust for blood and an elongated life span and the other (Vampire) is a supernatural being that has been cursed either by a pact with the lord of hell or a blood pact with someone held in a hell lord contract.
Elf vs. Fairy vs. Pixie vs. Fae(Fey):: ..... all are of the fantasy realm and have looks that are on the extreme side of beautiful or hideous ..... fae is a generalized term to encompass all elves, fairies, and pixies or just used to describe one who has no special ability of the other breeds ..... fairies and pixies both have wings in most cases ..... elves do not fly unless by use of mortal or ancient magics ..... elves and fairies have the ability to use mortal magic ..... pixies can only manipulate light (magic wise) ..... fairies have the ability to make themselves human sized ..... pixies usually give off a glow of some kind ..... fairies have the ability to make others fly for a short period of time.
Druids vs. Dryads vs. Nymphs:: ..... Druids are a group of people that live and praise the ways of the forest. ..... Dryads and Nymphs are creatures of the forest ..... dryads are usually walking trees and live as long as they aren't cut down/killed ..... nymphs are usually female and transform into trees to get away from people. ..... nymphs have been said to protect the fountain of youth .......... by this logic they could be immortal
Witches vs. Warlocks vs. Sorcerers vs. Elementalists:: ..... all have the ability to cast spells ..... elementalists can usually manipulate one of the four elements, earth, wind, fire, or air ..... sorcerers abilities are inate, or metal abilities they are born with and just know, they don't usually have a spellbook ..... witches can have a multitude of powers, premonitions are just one example ..... warlocks are generally viewed as witches on the path of evil or darkness
Gods vs. Demigods vs. Devils vs. Demons:: ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... .....
I will add more to this list as I think of them so check back every so often to see what has changed or been added. Thanks for reading. Feel free to discuss things now.

I have to agree with you up until the shape-shifter part. I would add another piece to that. There are shifters and then shape-shifters. I shifters can only do animals while shape-shifters can do animals and humans, but, their true form is that of a black mass.

I can write out the stuff for Dwarves and Elves. They are my specialty. Also Vampires Vs. Vampyres, but people all have their own versions of Vampires.
Elves:: .... The Elven Species has been alive longer than man, and will exist even after man is long gone. .... Elves have a natural affinity for magic, depending on the type of elf. An Elf of the Woodland Realm would have a strong affinity for Nature, and magic relating to Nature, where as High Elves, the Noble Race of elves, have the Affinity for Light Magic and Dark elves, their opposites have the Affinity for Dark Magic, .... Elves Live forever, but can choose to give up their Immortality if they Choose. .... Elves, often known as the Fair folk, Can change their shape, as long as they keep their original mass, and life force energy. .... Elves are Much faster and stronger than humans, and hold values different than that of the Normal human society. .... Elves hold Culture and Socialism amongst themselves to the highest degree
Dwarves:: .... Dwarves are Masters of their trade, seeking to perfect every little thing they create. They are Master Artisans and builders .... Dwarves are the Shortest of all Races, except for Hobbits. .... What Dwarves lack in size, they make up for with their amazing strength, being stronger than the Elven species. .... There are different types of dwarves, but they mainly split themselves among clans rather than types of dwarves, naming their clans after that which that clan does most. .... Dwarves are not immortal, but can live for hundreds of Years. .... Dwarves are very anti-social with other dwarves outside their clans. The Clans of Dwarves are really just large, extended family.

Well I see things I don't like about most of them.
•A shape-shifter doesn't discern what kind of shape-shifting it can do, so a Shape-shifter should be able to shift into whatever they want. If a person wants to make it so their character can only shape-shift into certain things, then they can. Edit: The thing I said about the Spirit Warrior would be more of a Shaman thing. Shamans could commune with a bunch and shape-shift into a bunch of them. So yeah, you can forget what I said about it.
As for Raimundo •Elves shouldn't be immortal. Live amazingly long, sure, live forever, no. (I understand they do in 'Lord of the Rings', but in the series, they are like gods. Being amazingly blessed by theirs.) •Elves can't shape-shift. Other than using magic; which they are known to be amazing at.(That would abolish the need for changelings/Shifters/Shape-shifters. A character could just make an Elf, instead of the other races.)
However, I do agree with some of your other ideas. •Elves have a natural affinity for magic. (It makes an elf character not excel amazingly at every type of magic. Just their affinity.) •Dwarves are known to be very skilled at forging items; swords, armor, shields, etc. (This could add to a dwarf's character; go to a dwarf blacksmith/constructor for things you want built to withstand 'wear & tear'.)

If a person wants to make it so their character can only shape-shift into certain things, then they can. •Spirit Warriors sound as though they are a spirit, but I understand what you are saying. Instead of only able to change into only one animal, it should be any entity that they have a deal/connection with. Since they think of the earth as a living entity. (Such as if you made a pact with an Elder Tree, you could change into an extremely powerful tree person...type of thing.)
As for Raimundo •Elves shouldn't be immortal. Live amazingly long, sure, live forever, no. (I understand they do in 'Lord of the Rings', but in the series, they are like gods. Believe what you wish, but Elves Are Immortal. As for their Shape Changing? no, they aren't shapeshifters. They use magic to influence their Body. Things like, Grow Hair here, change Eye color, and some can go as far as things like give themselves gills, change legs into fins. All it is is reshaping the body. But like I said, they must retain their original mass. Sorry, Fantasy is my thing. Amongst being a druid, I study Fantasy. I am writing my own book on it, to be placed amongst great writers like Christopher Paolini and J.R.R. Tolkien. You just need to read a book sometime. These aren't fake facts. I didn't make them up.

I always thought that while Eleves had far greater magical and mental capabilities, they were more frail than humans. Well, except drow. (Do'Urden RULES!!!)

Most of us would base our elves on Tolkien's elves. In fact most elves are like fairies without wings or maybe similar brownie. They would make trouble, but, be like a little person.
