Eytucan was sitting at the border, taking in the air of his peoples home. He was enjoying a bit of free time, away from his brother and the chaos of his new family members. With the goddess's return to them, it had cause an uproar among everyone. A good uproar for some and a bad one for others. He knew his brother would not take it well.
He sighed, his kings headdress clanking against his chest as he adjusted himself in his tree. He had climbed up into a rather thick tree, with branches just the right size and shape for an adult to sit comfortably in. His people were at home among the trees and the species of those trees, created low enough branches to allow easy access-since lions weren't exactly squirrels.

Not too long ago, Clermeilli-Pie had four cubs and a companion helping her with them. For safety she had made Daire leave for the meeting with Roth. Roth had taken her two cubs one red and one black, that would fit in his pride and now she was down two cubs and alone. She still had Ezili and Ayizan, and that made her happy.
"Ezili, Ayizan, do you remember why we are out here? And why we must be respectful of anyone we meet?" She had explained everything to the cubs already. They were trying to find the Na'vi pride if it existed. The Na'vi might give them all somewhere to call home, and a family of sorts... She stressed to the cubs that would mean others to play with, but for her it was the protection from ever having to see Roth or his like again.
And of course, she did not wish to be alone anymore. She had done that for most of her life, and it had lead to that encounter with Roth. She did not regret the cubs, but she certainly did not wish a repeat of such an event. Clermeilli-Pie was a wonderful hunter, but she was no warrior, and thus needed others if she was to stay safe.

Ayizan was bouncing at his mother’s feet as she walked, keeping pace but far more interested in gazing around and batting at anything that moved, including his sister. Full of energy, he heard his mother’s words and replied with a brisk, “Yes, Mom.” It wasn’t disrespectful, because Ayizan could never bring himself to mouth off to his mother. But then again, he was a cub and we would rather be playing with the plants around them or running up the trunk of the low-limbed trees than following obediently
“Mom, what will these lions look like?” Ayizan had seen his father and mother, but so far they were the only grown lions he’d ever encountered. When his mother had told them that they were a pride of warriors that lived in a forest, Ayizan guessed that they might be wildly different. He didn’t even know if he’d fit in.

Ezili batted back at her brother whenever his attention turned her way. Though she was a healthy energetic cub the events so far in her life caused her to be more cautious and thoughtful as they travelled deeper into the jungle. She was a great deal like her mother, or at least that's what she was going for. Ezili admired her mother greatly and wanted to be just like her.
"Yes, mother," she replied to the question. It would be good to find a home. The way mother talked about a pride as an extended family sounded good to her. It wouldn't be the same, but it would be nice to have someone other that Ayizan to play with. Still other cubs would not substitute for the brother and sister that had gone with their father. Though the details would fade with time she would never forget that 2 other siblings shared her blood.
She tilted her head curiously at Ayizan's question. It was interesting... and she wanted to hear the answer as well.

His ears caught sound coming from not far. He lifted his head, spotting the lioness of such similar marking to some of his people, he almost choked. She looked like Zelt and Ava and so many others. He was also confused to why she was coming from the outside world. A rouge? He wrinkled his forehead. Then the sound of children crossed his ears and he sat up, gazing at them.
Cubs. Two children. Both blue but one with swirls of red on her cheeks. He frowned. They would have to discuss her future status with Eywa. She would probably have some difficulty fitting in... since those colors were frightening to others of the pride. He let them get closer, before he leaned his front legs down the branch and let them dangle.
"Greetings. May Eywa bless your path!" He said in welcome, a sly smile on his face.

Clermeilli-Pie calmly looked up at the lion, not at all startled by the fact that one was so near and she had not seen him. One, he was in a tree, and two she was not used to these surroundings to pick out anything in them. His presence may not have startled her but the word "Eywa" did. Her mother had used to say that.
"Did you say 'Eywa'?" She had thought her mother a bit odd, speaking of some unseen mother that watched over them. Clermeilli-Pie had never said such a thing to her own cubs, because it had never seemed anything but an oddity of her parents to her. Hearing another lion say it gave the lioness pause to think. Her parents had never spoken much of their past, perhaps there was something to learn from it.

Ayizan hadn’t been paying careful attention, so the strange lion’s words did startle him. The first thing he thought of was to skip a couple steps back, but realizing too late how cowardly he would look, he soon recovered and came forward again, peering up into the tree’s branches. The lion he saw wasn’t so wildly different as he has thought they might be… was this one of the Iknimaya?
Azizan stayed silent, allowing his mother to do the talking for him. He wasn’t sure he’d be able to summon words anyway, being at once both awed and a little nervous about finally finding what they were looking for. Or so he thought. The forest here looked just as his mother has described to him.
Ayizan glanced over at his sister Ezili, watching to see if she had been as startled as he’d been. His Mom hadn’t been, but then if she knew about this pride maybe she also knew there was nothing to be afraid of. Ayizan would wait and see.

Ezili jumped back startled at the voice coming from the trees. She looked up at the strange lion and edged up close to her mother. That Clermelli-Pie was not afraid reasured her daughter, but Ezili still needed the close close contact. There was something about the expression on the lion's face that bothered her... he was smiling but it ... well it reminded her a little of her father.
She looked up at her mother then, returned her gaze to the lion curious about his response.

A smile crawled across his face at the mothers response to his words. So she knew of their deity? He gazed at the two cubs thoughtfully. He winked at the little ones for a moment before sliding down off his perch and landing lightly, his head dress clanging against his chest as he stood before them.
"Eywa. Yes... she is our goddess and our 'mother' here... She is one whom looks over us and keeps our families safe." He paused and looked to Clerm. "Why do you ask? Are you familiar with her name? I am guessing you are in some way... especially with a pelt like that..." He pointed to her markings.
"Those markings are very common among the people." He looked to the cubs. "Did you children keep your mother safe on your trip?"

Clermeilli-Pie looked down at her cubs and gave first Ayizan and then Ezili a reassuring nuzzle. "Ayizan, I believe this male has answered your earlier question of what these lions would look like." Even her usually paranoid personality saw nothing to take alarm from with this male. If he had meant harm to the cubs, he could have easily done it already, but he had not. That was a good sign. And the blue on his fur put her at ease.
His whole air put her in mind of her father. He had always been so warm to the family, yet such a solid protector. If these lions were marked like her family, then maybe this was where her parents had come from. But why had they left? They were so pride oriented, if they had left a pride, it would make no sense. But that Clermeilli-Pie would look so much like lions in this pride, and not have some connection, was too much of a coincidence.
Clermeilli-Pie stretches and purrs. The purr was more to get the cubs to relax than anything else. "I know the word yes... My mother spoke of Eywa, the mother... and the all seeing eyes that watched over her children." She pauses for a moment before continuing. "My pelt is like my mother, my father, and my brother before me." She had a smug, proud look on her face when she looked down at her cubs. She missed the other two, but she loved them so dearly.

Ayizan was listening intently, and although he was nervous still his mother's purr did help calm him. Sounds like that didn't lie, after all, so she must not have been worried. And so, hesitantly, he replied to the question directed at him by the male lion.
"Yeah, nobody would dare mess with me!" The young cub boasted, puffing out his chest. He was showing off for the stranger, that was all. He knew as well as everyone did that he had little personally to do with their safe journey.

Ezili found herself relaxing as the strange male smiled and even took the time to wink at her and Ayizan. She purred back at her mother and listened intently as her mother talked about her family and her familiarity with this "goddess." The term was unfamiliar to the cub, though she certainly understood what a mother was having such a good one. How could one be a mother to a whole pride?
Her tail twitched as she tried to work this out and she almost missed the males question to herself and her brother. Ezili simply smiled and nodded, allowing Ayizan's answer to stand for both of them; she wasn't quite ready so speak to this stranger yet.

Eytucan's smile widened by a massive degree. So she was related to perhaps, some of his people. He took a moment to gaze at her, she was similar to so many, it would be hard to distinguish. He chuckled. "So, you must be a descendant of those who were lost to us when the pride was attacked... you see when I was a young youth the people were attacked and a few of us had to run away, and were lost outside the pride. Some of us have found our way back over time-but some will always be lost..." He said a bit sadly.
He looked down to the little boy. "What a good boy you are! Always protect and respect your mother and always protect and respect your 'people'. For when you are among the people, you are all one together!" He said matter of factly. He then looked to the little girl. "And what are your names children?"

"Perhaps they were of your people. My parents never spoke of their past, only of the present and the future for us." Clermeilli-Pie considered for a moment. What if there were relatives here that her parents thought dead? An attack that they had been forced to flee from would make that very likely. She would have to travel to her parents someday and tell them of this... if they did not wonder this way before that.
She cannot help but be amused by her son's boast and puffed up stance. "Daire would be proud of you, Ayizan." Daire, their "uncle", the male still made Clermeilli-Pie smile even after he left. He had been their protector, and even a playmate for the cubs. And to her, he had been something special. She nuzzles her son.
Ezili's quietness worried Clermelli at first, but she hoped it was only because the male was strange. "Manners, Ezili. It is important to always answer a question asked to you truthfully and vocally. It is rude to do otherwise." The chastising was not very harsh and followed by a lick on the ear. "He will not hurt you, little one."

Ayizan darted a look at his sister quickly, just in time to catch her wink. He grinned at her, switching his tail playfully. He was without fear now of Eytucan, and at the pride leader’s words he even purred proudly. He loved to be praised, and he took the words of advice to heart as well.
“I’m Ayizan!” he told Eytucan in his usual somewhat loud, childlike voice, as though constantly trying to talk over everyone in his excitement. Since he wasn’t asked more, he said nothing more, waiting for his sister to reply as well. And of course, when his mother spoke to him, Ayizan’s ego got even bigger. He purred and rubbed against his mother’s face as she nuzzled him, remembering what she’d told him about Daire and feeling so pleased with himself.
“Are the people still gone?” Ayizan asked Eytucan boldly, searching the trees for signs of more lions. He assumed he’d see more, but then, he knew nothing of the pride.
