Two days into their adventure, mother nature decided to open the heavens and pour torrents of water down upon the earth.

For days.

Now, the two wolves were somewhat, but not quite, cramped into a mostly dry hollow beneath an ancient monolith of a tree. Phrixos had stumbled upon it in the dark, just as the first drops of rain had hit them, knowing that it would be a hell of a storm.

The most important thing his father had taught him was how to sense an impending storm. Ciirsyn Kiion was more attuned to the weather then any other wolf he had ever met, and he thanked his father for passing on his weatherly sense of smell.

And so, here they lay, listening to the rush of water striking the earth, both glad that the hollow went up a ways instead of down into the dirt. It was the only thing that kept them dry.

"Rain or not, my stomach is going to gnaw at itself if I don't feed it soon," Phrixos murmured, head on his paws as he stared morosely into the darkness without the hollow. The only thing that currently brightened his mood right now was the pretty female laying beside him, their bodies close enough to keep each other warm, but not .... toooo close.

May's puppy ideals and attitude had her wanting to whine and moan about being cooped up for days when they were supposed to be having an adventure, but she managed to keep her maw shut when it came to feeling petulent.

She looked up hopefully as Phrixos mentioned food. She was feeling terribly hungry too, and was nearly embarrassed to death when her stomach gave a loud grumble that echoed a bit in the small tree-den.

She giggled nervously, not having to say anything now that her stomach had agreed with her companion on the subject of food.

"I don't mind getting a little waterlogged to find some food, but I'm afraid everything's in hiding, like us." she looked disappointed as the realization came over her. Even the fish, upset by the turmoil at the surface, might be hiding in their underwater caves.

"Seems we are at an impasse with nature then." He frowned, and turned his head enough to see her eyes. "Might as well make a time of it." Wiggling closer with a flirty smile, he sat up straighter, so that he could actually look at her, because even in the dark, her pale coat was visible to his keen, bi-colored eyes.

"A game, I think. Maybe something to pass the time, and get to know each other a bit?"

Phrixos waggled his eyebrows, all flirtatiousness and teasing.

May wanted to pout. She was so hungry, and had no idea when the weather would clear. She didn't, though. She would survive, she figured, and if worse came to worse, she could probably do away with Phrixos as he slept and feast on him.

Wait, what? The idea floated away as quickly as it had come.

"A game, huh." she was interested now, eager to forget her grumbling stomach. "What kind of game?" she flashed a winning smile. She liked games, like to have a chance at winning.

Her tail thumped happily in the small space they had, adding to the noise of the rain outside. This could be fun.

"A question game. The questions can be of anything! Whether it's intrusive, embarressing, or something else, you have to answer it. If you don't, you lose and have to go catch dinner in the rain."

His grin was wide with mischief. He had played this game with his siblings when they were younger, and although it had been more innocent back then because of their young age, he suspected there would be more juicy things to find out about his new traveling companion.

"Sound good? We can, uh, get to know each other a bit more this way too," he said with a flick of his ears, his eyes surreptitiously eyeing her as he said it.

Phrixos really liked this girl. Her personality, especially, but she was as pretty as her name. Getting to know her sounded like the best idea he'd ever had.

May listened to his proposition for a game and thought on it a minute, glancing past him towards the rain. She thought about how terribly dreadful it would be to have to hunt in the rain. She was young, and inexperienced when it came to hunting anything. She did know that it would be difficult with everything rained out though.

"Alright~" she answered finally, agreeing to the game. She wondered how awful the questions might get, and hoped that Phrixos would be a gentlewolf about things. At least until she got the hang of the game.

She scooted a bit closer to him to keep the chills at bay and looked up at the male. "So who goes first?"

When she scooted closer, he smiled. "Ladies first, of course. Ask me anything," he added, his smile widening. Although he had things he'd like to hide, he didn't mind the thought of sharing them with her.

His father would probably be laughing at him right now.

The headache hit him suddenly and he couldn't hide the wince, his head dipping a bit as his breath caught. They had been getting worse, slowly, since the day he had drowned in the lake.

Ears pressed to his skull, he took a breath, knowing that May had probably caught his painful expression. Hopefully he could pass it off as hunger pains to her.
