that suck the life out of you?
My best friend in the whole wide world and I both work at the same place. We are not supervisors, so we can work together on the same floor and shift. Today, we both had a run in with the same people, and it has left us physically and spiritually drained.
In my case, when I went in to check on my patient, they blocked my exit, and would not let me leave until they had explained fifteen ways why I needed to attend their religious affilliation. (Now, I do not call them Christian as they are a little notorious around here for not showing the Christian beliefs and fruits of the Spirit... feel free to disagree with me on that, but people who call themselves Christians should at least exhibit something of Christ's teachings to be certified as one.) After twenty minutes, they finally let me leave, but only after shoving a pamphlet of their prophecy teachings in my hand and praying over my soul.
Don't get me wrong. I have no issue with most Christians... its just that some who use the lable Christian are ... to be mild ... sticky...
Had it been anyone from my friend's church praying over me, I would not have thought anything of it. I know those people, and they sort of know me. I am not afraid to attend their meetings or worship times, and they are not afraid to say hello to me in the super market.
I don't even think it would have bothered me so much if the local parish preast, or Baptist minister prayed for me. But bother me it did.
My friend had much the same experience, save they attacked her for her personal Christian beliefs simply because of the way she dresses (skirts and wears her hair up ...) But then I dress the same way, and I am not a Christian... Why should they upbraid her for her personal beliefs for the way she dresses and not me?
I feel like I need an alcohol shower and time in a sweat lodge.... cry

I had a woman like that while I was pregnant. She literally followed me and my mom through the mall babbling on and on. Then she stopped me and put her hands on my belly and said, like a ten minute long prayer. Me and my mom were giving each other looks the entire time. Then she gave me her number and told me to call her when I had the baby. No frickin' way! The nut job was probably going to try to steal my baby! Needless to say that number got trashed when we finally got away from her. She was definitely an extremist. My nerves were extremely off. One, I do not like to be touched by anyone. Only a few people can touch me. And two, do not force your religion on me.

I guess they could have been, but try getting someone to back you up. Christians are becoming very touchy thanks to these types of people though. I don't know how that would go.

hachi_ ateyou Wouldn't hat be considered harassment??? Won't let you leave till they shove religious stuff don't your thought? Yes, it is harrassment... but if I said anything about it, then they could have placed a complaint against my friend and I both. And that could cause us to lose our jobs. So yes, it is harrassment. And my boss, thankfully, said neither of us had to go back in there.

Aakosir I guess they could have been, but try getting someone to back you up. Christians are becoming very touchy thanks to these types of people though. I don't know how that would go. I don't consider these people as Christian. Someone else may, but I don't. They didn't act in a Christian manner, and they didn't exhibit any of the Fruits of the Spirit. To black wash all Christians with their sins is like saying all Christians are alligned with the Westbourough Baptist Church idiots.

And the "normal" Christians do not like to be grouped with them, I know. But I can see how they could not be Christian since they were the "shove it in your face" type.

I also would call it an extremist and imagine you've such a person in your own family! And yeah I do. It's my aunt who... really turned into an extremist. It's kinda scary because she hadn't been like that before. I try to avoid conversations about religion with her because she just tries to convince me that Jesus is the Messias. It's senseless to me to talk about it with her and then I just start to nod and say "Yeah... leave me in peace"... (sorry if I make mistakes ^^ wink

My best friend and I have a co-parasitic existence. He majorly sucks the life out of me, and I do the same to him. So we end up about even.
