Okay so this is a private roleplay meant for myself, Matasoga, Adonis DeCreatu and BladeofMourn. I couldn't think of anything to call this thread so don't read too deeply into the title. Anyway I would like to start a new online D&D campaign for us four so that we all stay in contact and can still play even though we've all been spread out over several states.
So, I would like to let us all vote for what kind of campaign we do and as such I have a few campaign ideas listed below. If any of you guys have a suggestion just post it.
1. An "us in the realms" campaign: This is where we would play as ourselves if we were suddenly sucked into the D&D world. This campaign would start at level 1 with a random amount of experience for each of us since we've led such interesting lives.
2. A "Dueling Duos" campaign: This is where we would pair off, randomly if no consensus can be reached, and have the two teams of characters face off for some reason or goal. I think this campaign would start out at 5th level.
3. A "House" campaign: This is where we are all members of a noble house of some sort and the entire campaign is about us all jockeying for position in the house. This could also work with a drow or dragon marked house. This would also probably start out as a 5th level campaign.
Since I don't want any ties in the voting and because I like all of these ideas pretty much equally I won't be voting.

Votes by polling may not be the way to go with this one, since anyone can vote and there's 14 gold in it for anyone that makes the click. I voted for the "Us in the Realms" campaign, for the record.

Well I think your members will respect that this is a private Rp, but just in case they don't it would be appreciated if all of you would post your votes once you've made them.

I'm surprised you didn't include your crusade campaign idea among the options.
1. This one I voted for as well. It seems like it's already won out, but I'll wait until that's confirmed before posting my questions.
2. Dueling Duos seems like it would be fairly short-term to me, and reminds me very much of where the Year-and-a-Day campaign was going with the 3 brothers arc. Personally, I'd rather save all that scheming for when we get back to that campaign. And with Alex's infrequent use of Gaia, I'm sure one team would end up much further ahead of the other.
3. Three words for this one: "Politics. I hate!" Climbing ranks in a political/social order doesn't capture my interest at all, and while I can imagine at least one of my previous characters having such an interest, this sort of roleplay would just bore me.

Okay so even though Alex hasn't voted she has told me that she agrees with Matt on just about every point, making the vote unanimous for the "Us in the Realms" campaign. So I will now open the floor to questions about it before we get started.
Here are a few things about it that may answer any questions.
1. We will be starting out at level one.
2. Classes should be chosen based on yourself in reality.
3. Skills and ability scores should be relatively accurate to you in real life, though some embellishment is expected.
4. We will be entering the campaign only with the equipment we usually carry on us and that also means we probably won't have any gold unless you have a gold necklace or something.

Alright then lets get this Rp under way. I trust all of you so I don't think I need to post any rules, you guys know what to do. This is a D&D campaign so I will need you guys to either e-mail me a character sheet or post one here. There will be a two day limit on waiting for posts, I think that's fair and I hope we'll be posting more often than that.
That being said we can get started once everyone has made a character sheet.
EDIT: I'll trust you guys to roll your own stats, we are using the standard rules for rolling ability scores.

Since this is all between us, I think that perhaps we ought to get together and gather a consensus as to what each of us thinks all of our stats should be. I'm not in love with point-buy but that is an option too. The one thing that we should exclude is the Strength score. That can actually be determined by looking at the rules. I think it's worth some consideration.

I can agree with that. Josh, you should post how to figure out STR by the rules, or where to find it. After that we'll all focus on one person at a time and decide together what fitting ability scores would be. Also we should all be posting a roll of a d100 for our starting experience, multiply the result by 10.

Zac, why don't you post a link to the place where character sheets can be downloaded? As for strength, really? You've been playing D & D for this many years and you didn't know that maximum load was what you can lift above your head? It's pretty easy to figure out your strength score based on that.

You'd probably be better off just using a word document, or about any other program. The digital character sheet has been failing everyone but Zac lately. They've been clearing themselves, leaving us with a saved file of a blank character sheet.... stare

It gave me a while lot of "MZP Hmm, perhaps it has been changed or something since I got it. I can either send it to you via AIM sometime or you can take Matt's advice and use a word file.
