The leaves burned brightly in the vivid tones of autumn afternoon. The small family had ventured out to the Fall Festival, and amongst them the littlest elf amongst them had wandered farther than the rest. A warm cup of cider sent small tendrils of steam into the crisp breeze, cooled in comparison to the warm smile that had stolen over her features. Ellette continued into the festival, keeping an eye on her family's whereabouts as she struck out to find her own fun. What form that would come in was still up to debate, but soon enough the girl found herself in the apple picking orchard amongst the ripe russets of the season, and many others who had similar intentions.

As Ellette walked toward the orchard, a man leaned against one of the fences, his gray sweater tight upon his form. His blond hair was pulled back as he looked across the orchard, his eyes stuck on a strangely colored boy. He was laughing as he dragged a stuffed bear, his golden hair shining against his ruby furred skin.
Loyd glanced to his side as Ellette walked by, noting a few of her features quickly before looking back to his son. It was starting to become the time where Aleric wanted to be on his own more, and Loyd was fine with that as long as the kid was in view. Plus, Aleric seemed to be having a blast with the group of kids he jumped between as the apples he had in his arms.

The group of children caught her attention. The cider forgotten, she set down the mug and ran to meet them, nose glowing alight with eager anticipation. "Hi there!" she chimed out, stopping short of the group and gently fiddling with the end of her long scarf. "Can I play?"

Aleric turned quickly at the loud voice, grin still there as another friend seemed to appear to play. When he finally moved his gaze, he realized that this girl was different much like he.
"Hiya!" he responded with a lift of his arms, swinging his bear and dropping all over the apples he collected in the process. For a long second, the foo-fairy held his arms high, looking to her face for a response, before he suddenly dropped to the ground, "My apples!"
He finished his gasp and scrambled to grab all of them before they could get too dirty.

The girl smiled wide at him, only for it to fade a second later at the apples went spilling to the ground. Quickly she knelt and began gathering up the fruit, collecting them in the lap of her dress before offering them back to the boy with a shy, apologetic look. "Sorry about your apples, I didn't mean to make you drop them. My name's Ellette - what's yours?"

He blushed, though it wasn't very apparent because of his fur, as he didn't look at her face while he collected the apples. Once they were picked up, at least the half that he was able to collect, he finally lifted his face and blinked to see all the ones she collected.
"Er...thank you!" he said lightly, before he pushed a smile on his face yet again "I'ma Aleric...nice ta meet you!"
He stood and turned to quickly grab the bag he had brought, but did not use, and brought it back over to them "Let's put them in here, Elle!"

Elle? She liked that name, her features alight with delight at the new nickname. As he brought forth the bag, she began loading them in one by one, trying not to bruise the fruit. Giggling softly she looked up at him and smiled wide, curious about his intentions. "So, Aleric, whatcha gonna do with all these? Make an apple pie? Or maybe apple butter? There are so many things you can do with all of these, I bet it'll taste really good!" The girl retrieved on of the particularly large specimens and offered it to him, nose glowing softly to reflect in the shiny red fruit. "Well?"

When she helped him put the apples in the bag, he grew really excited and continued to put them away as well, his teddy sitting next to them. Once they were all put away, he was able to focus on the words that the girl spoke to him.
"I...don't know...Daddy just told me to collect them...plus they taste so so good!" He proved his point by taking the apple she handed him, and took a giant bite. It got caught in his teeth for a moment before he pulled it out and had juice dripping down his chin.
"Have you made any of those...foods?"

Thinking for a moment, she nodded and gestured to the distant picnic grounds where her family had wandered to. "My oldest sister made an apple pie once. It was so good! It had cin..cyn...sinnamon? A spice, I think. It's brown and really good with sugar and apples!" Turning her attentions back towards him, she snickered softly at the juice that trailed his jaw, dripping off of him. Reaching over, she used the trailing end of her scarf to wipe it off. "You're silly - but that's ok."

His arm followed her scarf to wipe away the juice, before he took a smaller and cleaner bit of the apple. A chewing noise filled the silence until he was able to swallow.
"Sinnamon?" Aleric echoed with a blink and a tilt of his head, "Never heard of it...but it sounds good!" he nodded before setting the half eaten apple into the bag, and lifted it up to his shoulder.
It took a few moments as he lifted the now heavy bag, trying to adjust it to a nice place without dragging it. Once he got it to his shoulder, he suddenly realized that he left his teddy on the ground, and he just stared at it with a pathetic pout.

Not wanting to make him sad, she gently picked up the teddy bear and held it to her chest, protecting it for him. Then, with her free hand, she helped hoist the sack, holding part of the weight so he could move it a little easier. "Where are we going to take the apples, Aleric?" she queried, amethyst gaze cast around the orchard curiously. "Is your family nearby?"

Aleric smiled gratefully at Ellette upon seeing her pick up his teddy in a gentle way. Sure the teddy wasn't safe as it would be in his arms, but it seems as if his new friend wasn't going to rip the toy apart.
"Daddy is over there..." he said with a nod to where Loyd was watching the two of them interact with a somewhat bored expression. It wasn't that Loyd was bored, he just didn't have anything to distract him while his son was playing off on his own.

"Ok, he looks..." The girl looked the man over for a moment, slightly intimidated by him. However, she didn't want to be disconcerting to her new friend, so she tried her best to sound confident. "He looks nice...should we bring him the apples and your bear?"

The boy let out a giggle, not seeing any intimidation on Ellette's face. Instead, he looked over to his 'father' and let out a night sigh of happiness, quite content with his family as it was.
"Daddy will be so proud!" was all he said, before he heaved the apple bag higher on his back, and started to march over to where the man was.
Upon seeing his son moving closer, Loyd straightened up and stretched his back out until he heard a pop, smiling to himself and impressed with his son making a new friend. There may be hope yet for the cute little tyke in becoming a ladies man.

As they drew near she hesitated, stopping a short distance from the man. The girl dropped a curtsy before straightening up again. "H-Hello...It's nice to meet you, sir. We got some apples for you!" To this she gestured to Aleric and smiled shyly, watching the boy and trying to adopt his ease in the presence of the adult.
