WELCOME TO THE ANNUAL STUDENT COUNCIL SIGNUPS
A large, colour sign seems to be tacked up right next to the school cafeteria, there is no way to miss something that blatant and obvious. It kind of looks like a little frightschooler went crazy with their crayons and created this giant, colourful monstrosity of a banner, complete with balloon frogs and rubber snakes streamers.
An over-eager third year, sporting quite a magnificent pin collection stares at you and smiles.
"Hey there, would you like to try out for student council?" She attempts to shove her clipboard in front of you.

(( OOC: WHAT IS STUDENT COUNCILALL ENROLLED STUDENTS are eligible for student council. Students can apply for any position available on the clipboard, but you can only apply and run for one.
Once again, the positions are:
President You are the figurehead of the student council and are the person who makes announcements and talks on the ickycom regarding student council decisions. You cannot however make a decision on your own without the approval of at least two of your council members. Vice president If the president is busy, you are the person to go to to manage the remaining issues. You help the president as well on making the big decisions or planning ideas. Secretary You manage and organize events and do all the paperwork. You are more of a planner, not a thinker. Public Relations: The student who creates all the ads, the banners, the colourful posters and anything they can think of in regards to an event. You help organise and manage actual events student council has thought of. Treasurer You (ICLY) organise all the money and funds student council has as well as how much costs you are alloted to what event, granted to you from the school. You can also fundraise from students to help with council events.
- ALL COUNCIL MEMBERS CAN HELP PLOT OR PLAN EVENTS, propose them and make them into reality!
So what happens after I sign my student up to run?
- Advertising Campaign: Once sign ups are closed, you will have a bit over a week to ICly create an open thread with their 'voting campaigns' , or do rps with their voting campaigns to attract more votes, whatever you like. Make buttons, make banners, be as creative or as fun as you would like for it! You can even do such things as ICly getting your 'friends' to stand up for you or to pass by buttons or the likes in an open rp. They can even pose outside the school yelling their lungs out, the options are limitless.
- Public Speaking: Near the end of the 'campaigning', the 'public speaking thread' will open up. Students will get exactly one post of 500 words or less to convince other students to vote for them.
- Voting: A few days after the public speaking, the actual 'voting process' will begin. All approved enrolled students are eligible for voting! Students wanting to vote must POST icly their character going into the ballet box and voting. All votes will be pmed to the MULE and tallied PRIVATELY. Students can vote for one of each, but it must be submitted in one 'voting sheet' as to not create confusion
- Results: Results will be announced and the new student council shown for the semester!
NOTE: The student council runs EVERY SEMESTER. That means come Febuary/March after exams, there will be a new election. Old student council members can still get renominated. WHAT CAN STUDENT COUNCIL MEMBERS DO? - It is like a glorified student club. Student council members have their own exclusive club which they can choose to create club rps for or not. There they can discuss events they want to run. THESE WILL BE COME STICKIED into orp events, such as an idea for 'spirit week' will be treated like how the 'monster ball' is being treated currently. Whatever open rp events they want to come up with is up to them! - They can also propose smaller scale 'meta' events that might affect all rpers. This again is up to them how they want to deal with it, all proposals can be brought up with admin staff and approved before getting started. This could be anything from something like a "school mystery hunt" to a "student council auction week" (where you sell the a student for pumpkin seeds to 'buy for a day', sounds familiar??) - Student council will also be able to hand out an exclusive 'student council' minipet themselves (each council member has this ability). - Each student council member also gets their own shiny status badge. Ooooh! ))

((SIGNUPS ARE NOW OPEN UNTIL OCT 14th
Simply roleplay your student picking up the clipboard and writing their name down the the (ONE ONLY) position they would like to try out for. All names will become publicly listed once the actual "campaigning" starts. Be brave and go out and try, it cant hurt! ))

Sin wasn't actually totally confident about running for student council, but she had to look confident. So like most things in her life she put on a small smirk of confidence and tossed her hair back. Being tall, pretty, and a demon helped quite a bit if you were going to pretend to be cocksure.
"Sure I'll bet I could do some good on the council." She took the pen and eyed the positions open. She should have put her name down for president, it was expected no doubt. Her parents would want her to go for the top of the food chain, they would have wanted her in control. She moved her hand and signed instead on the line for Vice President, Sin Err. The R ended in a flourish and she handed the pen back with a small smile.
"I hope I'll have your vote?" She winked and grinned turning and walking off. Inside her mind was s sudden turmoiled tangle, oh boy what had she just done. This was going to mean competition, and planning, and work...she sighed softly. Oh well no one ever said school was going to be easy.

Erebus stared at the colorful sign from a distance before the third year spotted him and came over, a perky grin plastered on her face and practically dragged him over to the booth to explain about the student council. His first thought was to run away, and he was highly tempted to, but as he listened, he actually found himself quite interested. It was like being a leader and helping to manage student stuff, and well! Why not? He thought. He could just try out and if it didn't work out, he always could join other clubs. It wasn't as if he was pinning all his hopes on being part of the student council.
He got another delighted smile when he picked up the pen and scribbled his name on the clipboard, then paused at the part where it read position. Sensing his hesitation, the girl started babbling on about the various positions and he half-listened, half-debated, his pen resting on the clipboard and then hastily yanked it up in case he created too huge of an ink blot.
Vice president. He decided. He wasn't sure he could go for president; it seemed like too much responsibility and he was always better at being the supporting person anyway, like how he was with his brothers.
Once done, he handed the clipboard back to the girl and received a cheery thank you, and as he walked away, he realized he would have to plan all those voting stuff. He needed ideas, he thought, quickening his pace so he could reach his room faster.

Lilura was happily walking away from the library with with a brand new book to read about hexes when she saw the big sign for Student Counsil. She immediately tried to avoid any eye contact with the third year with a clipboard. "Nina, perhaps you should try out," Tartalo said to her. He thought it would be a wonderful experience for the girl. "Why would I want to do that? I mean it's just a student counsil," she said back. "Nina, you will be head of the house one day. You need some experience in a leadership roll," he replied sagely. She sighed; dear hecate why did he always have to be right? She would be head of house and everyone would be looking up to her to lead them. She might as well get use to the idea even though it terrified. Then again maybe Daisuke would help her campaign, she liked that idea. She smiled to herself a little and took the clipboard, scribbled her name and position down, then handled it back to the other student.

Rain was anxious to eat lunch today. Her stomach was making noises that were damn near undefinable and the cook always seemed to have surprises in store for them. She actually liked most of what she ate at the academy. A big, flamboyant sign caught her attention though and a student was standing nearby it seeking members? Was it a new club? She stayed in the background for awhile and watched before she slowly made her way over to read the board. Student Council? Her conscience told her to ignore it, to walk inside the cafeteria. Zombies never did well in these things. She wasn't very popular, she wasn't very bright. She had absolutely no qualifications for such a thing. ... Weren't they equal in this school? They were all students. While some might think they were better, they were equal. EQUAL. That meant that she had a chance to run just like any of them. She might even have a chance to lead. If it's one thing she learned from this school so far, it was that anything can happen. Expect the unexpected. If she can fight bathroom s**t monsters, she can surely run for Student Council President. She nodded her head furiously, her little pigtails bobbing up and down and she was grinning. She took her pen and happily signed her name. Rain Rottingham | PresidentShe practically skipped into the cafeteria.

Wandering into the cafeteria, Kasumi pondered what to have for lunch today. Well, ghosts didn't actually need to eat anything, but it was the act itself that was comforting. She smoothed out her hair and looked to find someone to sit next to. Was Belladonna here? Or maybe Tess? Before she could find someone specific, a sign caught her eye with an eager third-year student sitting beneath it. How she aspired to reach her third year of learning! Oh wait, what did the sign say? Student Council Ah, something right up Kasumi's alley! She loved organizing things and would adore assisting someone, especially a female president. That would be AMAZING. Taking up the clipboard, Kasumi jotted down her name and desired position. Now to come up with campaign ideas! She was so excited that she forgot to even consider lunch again.

Gargantuan didn't understand a lot of things. He didn't understand what the nice, older girl was talking about, and he didn't understand what the clipboard was meant for when it was shoved in his meaty hands. He didn't really understand what the names scribbled on it were for, and he didn't understand what 'student council' was.
What Gargantuan did understand was what a treasurer was.
Treasurers held onto gummy bats. That was what Yui said. And there was nothing more in the world that Gargantuan wanted more; he could at last, at long last, be the sacred holder of gummy bats.
His eager scrawl was probably so illegible that people would undoubtedly think someone had sneezed on the clipboard...

"Shehk... Shehk c'mon... ... c'mon, baby, don't... ...but I don't want to join the jacking student counsel, they're losers! NO I'm not saying your friends are losers! ... ok, well maybe that one but... ... yeah. ......... yeah. ... yeah? ... Swear? .....ok fine."
The sound of a skellular phone clicking shut wasn't really a sound that any student at Amityville really took notice at, and this one was no exception. Everyone had them now a days, and all the students seemed to be on them constantly, so everyone had pretty much tuned it out by now, along with the sounds of screaming ringtones (as long as they didn't go off in class, of course.) Nukpana, however, was a very unlikely candidate when it came to that sort of thing. For the most part, the skinwalker didn't act at all social, beyond hanging with his gang or his buds, and he certainly didn't need to talk to them constantly. He much preferred things in person, anyway.
Shehk was the exception, of course.
Shehk was the exception to everything.
Growling under his breath, Nuk stalked over to the table, snatching up a pen and scribbling his name down, tossing it back on the table when he was done and half storming away from it, shoulders hunched.

Exception to everything. Including student counsel, it seemed.

A somewhat relieved expression was plastered across that of the humanoid male's face as he headed towards the cafeteria for some much needed re-fueling. The first classes of the day, while interesting, had done nothing to aid the fact that his stomach was running on near empty after dashing out of his room this morning. Breakfast had been forgotten in his eagerness to get to class and had it not been for the vending machine he had found somewhere between his first and second period class he probably would have been completely without nourishment. Thank whatever forces that be that he had lunch now.
Of course, like nearly every other poor soul who had managed to take notice to the rather obvious looking sheet of paper plastered across the door he found himself being drawn to it. Ruby eyes scanned over the list of names on the paper, recognizing one or two but unfamiliar with the rest. It was only after he had taken note of the names did he notice what they were signing up for and his felt his heart suddenly leap into his throat. The Student Council! This was a sign up sheet for the Student Council! Probably the most important group of students in the entire school! He had to sign up!
But what position was best? For a moment he considered his options, mentally doing a check list of what he knew of the required skills and duties for each particular job. After some time of thought he finally decided that if he was going to run, he might as well run for the big guns. He was going to challenge Rain for the position of President. After all, what is a better position for someone so obviously in search of respect as the highest title of them all? With a grin plastered across his face, he pulled out one of his many pens and scribbled his name and desired position down upon the sheet.

Re-capping his pens as he examined the sheet one last time, the winged male turned and made his walk into the lunch room, intent on spending the rest of the day planning his campaign.

Tabitha didn't eat - But by Jack she adored watching the rest of the school fight down whatever that horrid looking lunch lady had prepared for the day. It was always so entertaining and in it's own way felt to her as though it was a special play just for her. Like the interactive puppet shows her father used to make for her with dead rats. Grinning ear-to-ear she was making her fourth pass by the 'new plot twist' when what was actually happening sunk into her thick skull. Words like 'president' were being thrown around and that girl had so many pretty pins it was mesmerizing. Staring at the sign-up roster Tabi clicked her fingers together as she deliberated on what position she wanted to try for. Of course she wanted all of them, but the pushy girl with the pen had been very adamant about choosing one and sticking to it. On the one hand 'Treasurer' had the word treasure in it and who didn't like treasure? But again- No. Pin Girl, upon request with a bright smile, informed Tabi that the position of treasure entailed working with the council's money. Which meant math. Which meant being able to do math. With a sigh, the skeleton had shaken her head. 'Secretary Tabitha' had sounded awesome as well, and yet again it was a let-down. With the same smile, a little more forced this time, Pin Girl explained that the secretary was the note taker of the council. It was a very important job. A job that required clear hand-writing and spelling. A job that required you could spell. Another head-shake from Tabitha and the job was passed up. 'Public Relations' just sounded boring and didn't sound right as 'Publick Relations Tabitha'. It made her sound like those 'working' ghouls she'd seen in town that barely wore any clothes and would get in carriages for money. She didn't like that idea. 'Vice President' was described as the second-in-command and Tabitha, future ruler of Halloween, was not going to be anyone's second anything. With another shake of her head and obvious eye-rolling from Pin Girl Tabitha dipped her finger into an ink-pot and nodded. President was perfect. With a face as similar to :3 as she could get, she skipped off to watch the rest of Pro Lunch Wrestling.

She had pondered over it for a long time, wondering if she should try out for a position on the student council - it sounded like fun, but a lot of work, something she thought she might enjoy. However, ever since her enrollment, she had felt rather inadequate - her leadership skills, people skills and management skills were lacking when she compared them to the skills of some of the students in her class... Of course, she had always thought of herself as a responsible Demon - mother always told her so as well. It was something she had fostered over years of helping out at her mother's shop, after all.
Taking in a deep breath to calm her nerves, Lizzy made her way across the cafeteria, determined to at least try for a position she deemed as 'suitable'. She would gain valuable skills from being in the student council, skills she was sure she would need in the future, when the Baines' clothing shop is passed down to her. Greeting the third-year with a wide smile, she gestured towards the clipboard in her hands, "Hello! I would like to si-"
Before she could even finish, the clipboard was shoved in her face, coupled with what she could only describe as a 'blinding smile' - a smile even more terrifyingly bright than hers. Without hesitating, she removed her favorite pen from the pocket in her skirt, removed the cap, and wrote down her full name together with the desired position of "Treasurer".

Bubbling over with a ridiculous amount of excitement as a standard himself, Thackery was happy to give the third year his attention. He marveled at her pin collection (ooh, he wanted that many pins!) before returning her cheery smile. "Student council~?" He considered the offer, taking the clipboard from her and eyeing the names already scribbled down. Erebus! His very own brother! Oh, he was so proud! His fluffy tail began to wag as he thought about helping with his sibling's campaign - which gave him a frighteningly fantastic idea. The "Public Relations" position was staring at him. He thought he might have seen it beckon. It was possibly dancing. "I'd love to sign up! I like the public! And relations!" The awkwardness of his last comment completely went over his dog-eared little head. He signed his name in the next empty space, ending it with a happy smile to show how much he loved the idea.
