Not just where Paulie beds down for the night (if she ever gets to sleep) but also where she takes her clients. Though on side you can see a splash of blood. A warning to the men who want more than they can pay for.

Paulie stopped in the doorway, surprised that someone was standing in her room. "Yes?" she asked. People didn't just wander into her room. People paid into her room. Everyone knew that, so she hoped this man wasn't there for her business.

Paulie cocked her head to the side. "On behalf of Rome? We haven't had a Roman messenger for a while. My job is the same as plenty of the other girls around here. I work for men. It's not much of a place, but it's work" she suddenly had an uneasy feeling in her stomach. Rome hadn't outlawed her work...at least she didn't think so. So why was this man looking for her? Her job had always seemed to be obvious to the men coming into the town.

The feeling immediately left Paulie's stomach and she smiled relaxed. "What kind of better life?" she asked curiously.

For a moment Paulie stood, undecided before speaking slowly "I don't know sir. I don't know about you, or your fortress. I would have to think about it. And talk with my friends about it." she looked up at him, "But I will think about it." Oddly enough, Paulie was uncertain about leaving her life. It truly wasn't the greatest thing she could ever be doing, and yes, when she had started, nights were sometimes spent crying herself to sleep, but she had changed. And she had friends here. Still...maybe a change would be good...She shook her head to clear her thoughts. She would have to talk to Kenda about it.

Paulie nodded. "I'd still like to know more about you and your fortress...and now your men as well before I would make a choice..." thoughts were floating her head. a life of your choosing that was what he said. Paulie wasn't often tempted to stray off the path she had chosen. It was her choice...but not much else had been open to her. Calm down Donde, don't make hasty decisions she startled herself, referring her herself as Donde, a name she had thought she left behind.

"It's very tempting of course...but" Paulie thought about it for a moment. Believing in fate, she was sure she stopped at this city, this tavern for a reason...but then, wouldn't this man show up for a reason to? She bit her lip before replying. "I need to think. Give me a months time, I know I will have my answer then" she didn't want to lose the offer, but if she was meant to be here....she nodded to herself a month is plenty of time for fate to answer me. If I'm truly meant to stay here, then I will stay.

Paulie watched as he left. No one...no man, had ever been so nice to her...unless he was looking for something. She slid a finger down the hawks neck and look at it curiously. She had heard of pigeons, but not hawks carrying messages. Paulie jumped slightly, having been lost in thought as she heard her name being called from the Tavern room. She sighed and secured the dagger next to her leg. They sounded rowdy out there.
