The electricity was crackling around his fingers. Hector lazily drew circles in the air, lying on his back in the shade of a rather large oak tree just outside of the forest that surrounded Arcana. Somewhere to his left he could hear the rushing crush of the twin waterfalls, and to his right the barely audible noises of the school and its students bustling around. Vaguely Hector wondered if he should have been in class, but then he remembered just how boring things tended to be, and settled himself more comfortably down in the grass.

It was nearing late afternoon. Hector let out a soft sight, raising both hands now to absently juggle a small ball of electricity between his palms. He really did need to figure out something more entertaining to do with his days, but it seemed as if lately he could not think of a single thing to do. He had done a few miscellaneous pranks every now and then, but they had all been mostly harmless (except for that accident with the banana peel and the Beedrill).

Sitting up, Hector withdrew the lightning from his fingers and sat cross-legged in the grass. From where he was resting, near the top of small hill, he could see most of Arcana's expansive campus. The school was close enough that he could just barely see the dozens of students milling through the hallways, sitting in the classrooms. Hector toyed with the idea of throwing lightning bolts at the schools electricity lines to cause a power outage again, but then he realized he would probably would be reprimanded worse than the last time, so he reluctantly extinguished the idea. Unwrapping a lollipop, Hector stuck it in his mouth, reaching down to pluck a tiny blue flower from a small cluster next to him. He twirled it idly in his fingers, his teeth clicking against the hard candy.

What now, what now...

Anoki had spent much of the morning floating about aimlessly, not really caring enough about spending time within the buildings when he had only just grown and was still in the mindset of getting to do things when and how he pleased as he pleased to do them. Occasionally the Mew would stop and float by the water or perch in the trees while he watched the birds flit to and fro, but mostly he just observed everything he came across. He knew that he had a lot of growing to do even though his body was much bigger and he had no intention of doing it slowly if it could be helped. Besides, the things around him were too interesting to not pay attention to.

The way the birds moved and sang intrigued him the most and he found himself wishing he had a song of his own that he could sing. Not that he had tried, yet, but he was embarrassed at the thought of destroying the song of the birds with a song of Anoki. Instead, he hovered with his head tilted to one side and his ears perked to best catch every nuance of the songs they sang. Someday, he decided, he would be able to pick out which birds were singing what songs and someday he would have a song, too. But as the sound of electricity pricked in his ears he knew it would not be this day.

His curiosity piqued he sat in mid-air with his legs crossed and floated in the general direction of the sound. Part of him worried it might be that Kazuya that so enjoyed hurting people, but the other hoped it would be someone he hadn't met before, or perhaps someone he had that was decidedly nicer than Kazuya. As he approached the person who sat with their back to him, he smiled brightly in recognition. It was Hector and from the sounds of teeth grinding against something he probably had lollipops again. Which meant he could get candy and that was something Anoki always enjoyed.

Disregarding the possibility the other may have wanted the peace and quiet offered by the hill he pleasantly called out, "Hello!" and floated nearer to Hector to better converse with the other.

The voice that called out to him was somewhat familiar. Hector turned his head in the direction of the sound, a smile crossing his face. He very much recognized the long, Sakura-blossom colored hair, the long, elaborate white, gold and pink outfit, the flittering turquoise flowers pinned against at the top of his long ponytail. Anoki was not exactly inconspicuous in his appearance, after all.

"Pink Thing!" Hector said cheerfully, tossing the now flower over his shoulder as he turned to greet the Mew. "Er, that is to say Anoki, since you said you're not a thing, and you're too big now to be considered one."

Hector had only briefly met the Mew before; Anoki had been floating through the school when he and the others had been standing around Kazuya and the triplets as they squabbled, and the second time he had seen the Mew was when Deimos had been with him. However, Anoki was cheerful sort who always seemed to be drifting off into thought and Hector very much enjoyed his company. He supposed it was because they were similar in many ways; after all, Anoki's pleasant attitude was a welcome relief from the irritated, angry, and surly company Hector was used to. Not that he disliked that particular company, but being with lighthearted Anoki was a nice change.

He smiled up at the Mew, patting the grass beside him. "Care to join me, Anoki?" Hector asked, pulling his knees up to his chest. "I could use a friendly face around here! It's been a little lonely."

Anoki was still in the process of floating over towards Hector when the other called out to him in recognition. The first thing he was called was Pink Thing, once again, and the Mew found his face falling just a little from its former happiness. He was no longer tiny and cute - he was now big and cute and he really didn't like being called a Thing, when he clearly was not one. Though he couldn't really fault everyone for having called him a Thing when he was smaller...he had stayed curled up in a tiny pink ball frequently and it must have been difficult for everyone to recognize he had a body and was not just a pink ball of cuteness. His smile quickly returned, though, as Hector corrected himself and he straightened himself out as he stopped in his floating to allow Hector to see how tall he actually was now. "Yes, I am much too big now to be a Thing!"

His grin grew broader as he slowly spun about to show off his new outfit and how big he had gotten before he floated over to where Hector sat and glanced down at the grass that had been patted. Briefly the Mew thought about just floating there, still standing, but he quickly decided that would be too rude and he had a short internal debate with himself as he weighed the pros and cons of sitting on the grass with his pretty outfit. During this argument with himself he glanced between Hector, who looked really quite lonely indeed and the grass which looked like it might stain his clothes. In the end, though, he nodded happily and floated himself so close the ground that he appeared to be sitting on it while he faced Hector, cross legged and clearly confused, "
Of course I will join you! But why has it been lonely...?"

As far as Anoki had known, Hector always seemed to be in the company of others so it concerned him more than a little that this friendly person might not have been around his friends for a while. What could have made that happen? But Anoki would not ask for details, instead his eyes flickered to the lollipop and unable to resist the childish urge he quickly added, "
And do you have another one of those?" The last one he had been given had tasted so good he just couldn't help himself, though he felt kind of silly for interjecting his own need onto someone who looked so down.

"Look at you," Hector said, laughing as Anoki spun around in his new outfit. It was elegant, long and flowing, and it fit the Mew perfectly. Hector was somewhat envious of just how regal and impressive Anoki looked, but the feeling passed quickly. After all, the Mew was still the same as he'd been before, only older this time - a sweet-tempered, quietly polite young man with a penchant for calming the atmosphere around him. Hector had noticed this earlier, but Anoki seemed to have the same effect on the others - a way of keeping the peace. Or at least, he tried to - there were some you couldn't calm no matter who was trying.

"Ah, lonely because there is no one around to share this afternoon with." Hector answered, somewhat sheepishly. He clicked the lollipop in his mouth against his teeth, letting out a small sigh. Arcana had seemed too quiet, as of late, and the school had been almost suffocating in its silence. Hector wondered why it was, but for the past few days he had not wanted to spend time inside of Arcana. He tended to prefer the outdoors most of the time anyway, but lately it seemed that was all he preferred. Sometimes he enjoyed the sanctuary and quiet of his own dorm room, but at the current moment that was the last place he wanted to be. Outside it was wide and bright, the sky fresh and open to all sorts of possiblities.

Of course, what exactly those possibilities entailed, Hector was not quite certain. He was bored - obviously - but at least he now had a friend to share his boredom with, and perhaps that might make it less boring.

Hector tossed a smile towards the Mew, digging around in his pocket. "Of course I do." he answered, laughing as he handed a green one to Anoki. "I tend to hoard these things," Hector added with a sheepish smile. "My trainer thinks its a ridiculous habit, but there you have it."

Tilting his head back, Hector let his gaze reach up towards the sky, eyes tracing the lines of the clouds.

"So, Anoki," he said. "How's life lately?"

Anoki's smile grew larger as Hector laughed - he was happy to have run into this gijinka again and very nearly went for a second twirl before stopping himself for fear of overdoing it. At least one person seemed genuinely happy to see him now that he was grown up! His smile quickly fell, though to a more confused look as Hector said he was lonely because no one was around to share the afternoon. Unable to resist he glanced down at himself, confused as to whether Hector meant before he showed up or if Anoki didn't count in this instance.

Not liking the melancholy in Hector's voice, Anoki floated a little closer to him as his tail flicked in curiosity and reached out a slender hand to pat his friend on the shoulder. "
At least you have someone to share it with now, right?" The young Mew put on a friendly smile on his face and hoped that would be enough, though he wanted to ask if Hector had been wanting for someone in particular while he was sitting out and looking so lonely and bored. But Anoki couldn't think of anyone in particular he'd ever seen Hector close to and so let the question fall where it began in his mind.

A broad smile returned to his face when he was handed a green lollipop, one he hadn't had before and he unwrapped it with the excitement of trying something new evident on his face. Anoki giggled a little that Hector's trainer might think it a ridiculous habit and immediately put the lollipop into his mouth, rolling his tongue over it before pulling it back out and grinning, "
I don't think its a ridiculous habit at all! Where else would I get lollipops if you didn't hoard them?" And as far as the Mew was concerned - that was really his main concern. Hector was the one he got his candy from, so if he quit hoarding it, then he'd have to find a new supplier and that didn't sound like a search that would be promising.

Twirling the lollipop in his mouth he mimicked the Luxray and leaned back in his floating position and turned his face up to the sky, relishing in the feel of the wind and sun on his face. It took him a few seconds to register the question he had been asked, and when it finally did he frowned as he thought about it. Life had been the same it always had been for him - he did lots of floating here and there, very little running into anyone...

Anoki settled for a shrug as he pulled the lollipop from his mouth, "
Life is the same as always. I do a lot of floating here and there. I don't really run into anyone else very often, but I wish I did. How about for you?"

The Mew turned his sparkling blue eyes on Hector as he asked, his head tilted in genuine curiosity as he waited for an answer.

Hector smiled, tilting his head to look at Anoki. "Yes," he agreed, reaching out to playfully tug on a strand of the Mew's long, Sakura-colored hair. "Yes, life is always much more pleasant when you have someone to share it with."

Leaning back, Hector closed his eyes briefly, inhaling the scents around him. The day smelled like flower blossoms and dew, with the barest hint of rain on the horizon. It was quiet and pleasant outside, the breeze tugging at both of their hair and wisping it around to brush against their faces. Hector reached a hand up, absently pushing a few unruly strands away from his face. His fingers stilled for a moment, caught in a memory, but he quickly shook it off, instead turning to look back at Anoki.

"Well, I am glad to know that someone here shares my confection affections," he teased, letting out a small laugh. "Even though Strat - that's my trainer - tells me it's a dumb habit, he still buys them for me more often than not. I guess it's a habit he's all right with."

Hector clicked the lollipop against his teeth again; it was a habit he had started when he had been younger, and Strat had taken to giving his Luxray candy whenever he wanted him to be quiet. That was where most of Hector's dependency on candy had originally come from - though Strat denied this vehemently.

"Life is...quiet, lately." Hector answered, still smiling, but the smile had grown smaller, almost bittersweet. "There is really nothing to keep my spirits up, though I wish to change that somehow."

His fingers found the tie around his neck, loosening it almost absentmindedly. "Do you ever think about just cutting school and going on an adventure, Anoki?" he asked, glancing back up at the wide, blue sky.

Anoki scrunched his face up when Hector tugged on his hair before giggling, he loved how at ease the Luxray was around him and thoroughly enjoyed the attention he received from the man. It was completely different than how anyone else dealt with him, and even though he suspected Hector thought of him more as a child than anything else, he found he wasn't really bothered by it. The familiarity with which he was treated was endearing and always made his day. With a smile for his friend he floated himself a little lower so that the Luxray wouldn't have to tilt his head to look at him and nodded in happy agreement, "Yes! It is very much better when you've got people to share it with!"

He idly twirled the lollipop in his mouth, amused by the abrasive way it rubbed up against the roof of his mouth and tongue as he did so while he listened to Hector speak. With a grin of his own at the rhyming phrase, he gave a happy nod in response with the sucker still in his mouth before returning to twirling it about. The mention of a trainer caused him to tilt his head to one side, the notion confused him and as soon as Hector was done he slid the lollipop out of his mouth with a loud POP sound as he tried to get all the juices off it before it was yanked from his lips and tapped his free fingers against his chin. "
What exactly is a trainer, Hector...?" For as long as the Mew could recall, he had been without a trainer or a human companion, so he didn't really understand what they were for, or why they were around.

The sound of the lollipop clicking against Hector's teeth amused Anoki and he gave another musical giggle as he heard it again. Vaguely the Mew found himself wondering what had caused the Luxray to develop such a habit, and he resolved to try it later to see how it would feel on his teeth if he did it too.

As Hector's smile changed, Anoki leaned forward just a little and peered curiously at his friend. Something was definitely wrong, even the naive little Mew could tell that much. He just didn't know what and that bothered him. The Mew's lips pursed as he tried to think of what he could say or do to cheer up Hector before the other man asked if he'd ever thought about cutting school.

With a cheerful laugh Anoki clapped his hands together, successfully hitting the lollipop out of his hand as he did so and laughed before leaning forward and grinning mischievously at Hector, "
To be honest, I haven't attended a class yet! I always go off on adventures!"

His visage turned curious once more as he tilted his head, not having realized that he'd dropped his sucker yet, "
Would you like to go on an adventure, Hector?"
