
It was dark where he was. He was sure it wasn't night, though, as he could hear birds chirping around him. Strange, he thought, and curious.
He rose, and by instinct began walking. A continuous straight path towards and unknown goal. Ahead, he was sure he saw a spark. The walk became a run. The spark grew, bigger and bigger, til it's size was bigger than he could ever have hoped to be. And when he reached it, without hesitation he walked into it.
He squinted, eyes just barely open as they adjusted to the light. He saw the sun, rising over the trees. Behind him he saw a cave, notorious he knew by whatever odd dream logic had landed him there for leaving children lost within it forever. As the light washed over him, he knew--this midmorning glow had set him free.
