Lilura sighed softly as she walked the grounds of the school. She was really tired from gym class. Gad she hated running. Tartalo had been rather miffed the whole time about being locked in the teacher's office and said he would demand the right to attend her class. Lilura had tried to tell him it was rather a mute point as he technically was a weapon, and not many had rights. He had huffed rather loudly about that. But now they were free for a bit before her next class. She wanted to enjoy the cool halloween air before heading back for more work.

The one place she had wanted to go was the old hanging tree. She liked to watch the nooses sway back and forth in the light breeze. Sometimes, back home, Tartalo would tell her stories of famous reapers from her family while they sat under a hanging tree. Though she got regularly scolded for swinging from the nooses. What? It was fun! Besides no one was hanging from them at the time! She giggled a bit.

"And what are we chuckling about, nina?" Tartalo looked down at her.

"Ah just thinking about our old hanging tree, Tar," she smiled at him.

"Ah yes, a lovely tree. And I see you've already found the one near the school. Let us have a sit down, you still seem rather winded," he looked gently at his little ward. How he disliked to see her struggle but she needed the exercise. But he was definately going to have words with that teacher about locking him up or leaving him at home! She was a reaper! And thus needed her weapon!

Lilura leaned Tartalo against the tree while she removed her cloak. She snapped her fingers and the cloak immediately flattened out to form a blanket for it's master. She patted it like a pet and laid out on it. Her blonde straw hair stuck out rather blatently on the black fabric but she liked her colors. She wondered what the other students were doing now?

Daisuke was just on a haunted stroll through the school, or he thought he was, no - again the scrawny ghost boy was lost. He had no idea what he was doing! Especially where he was going. Just freakishly great. His eyes scoped the area obliviously and the only thing that stood out was a tree with twisted branches and ropes hanging from one of them, though it was vaguely familiar and it wasn't till he drew near enough that he noticed what it actually was. A hanging tree.

Curious as to why he would ever be heading there, he walked right up and for a few moments just stared at the noose, the circular hole. He tilted his head. Did people actually get hung here? How? It still ceased to amaze the young wisp, the way things worked. How some creatures weren't dead, to say the least.

Breaking away his lost sole gaze, he noticed people talking. Someone else was here? For a moment he figured he might of been heading here to meet someone but who? He hadn't actually got to know someone yet, or talk to anyone for that matter. With a light shrug and a sigh, cursing his families condition he stepped by the trunk, placing one hand on the rough bark as to make sure he didn't fall over it... Which was the most likeliest thing.

There. One creature, in fact it wasn't just any creature. It was a reaper. Dai felt a lump form in his throat almost, swallowing a non existent stone, he gasped. He knew what reapers were and what they were capable of, he almost felt violated just by looking at the brightly colored ghoul. It was just too late to turn back now! Feeling a little awkward, that and interrupting whatever she was doing here he just paused a wonky smile on his pale blue lips. God knows what he would do when he noticed the weapon talked... It was right next to his palm!

"Hey, sorry. I didn't know anyone was here."

Lilura blinked as she heard a soft male voice from around the tree. Had she interrupted someone? She hadn't seen anyone there when she first arrived. Her golden yellow eyes looked up to see the ghost standing there looking alittle paler than most ghosts should. She smiled a bit, she got that reaction from ghosts sometimes. Consquence of being a reaper and all. But she wasn't just going to reap every sould she saw. That would take the fun out of it. Not to mention she prefered to reap the living soul, not the already dead souls. Living souls were more powerful and still held a great range of emotions. Those were the best when it came to making mimics. She sat up and looked to him.

"Oh, no worries. I was just hanging out before another class started. My name's Lilura. Who are you?" she gave him her friendliest smile.

"Oh so rude! I taught you better Lilura," the scythe right next to Dai's hand spoke and swung his sharpened bladed head to the ghost. "I am Tartalo! Lilura's scythe and her familiar. Please to make your aquaintance young man," he bowed politely. Kinda weird to see but his tongue flicked out a bit snake like. He refused to ever say if the soul her great-grandmother used was retilian but he suspected his little nina already knew.

Daisuke had to laugh at the irony of the words she spoke. Collecting his cool posture, he returned the kind Reapers smile. "Just 'hanging out'." He smiled. "Sounds like a great idea." He added as he was about to step over the large root of the tree. Then he noticed another voice was speaking out to him. He looked at the side, the reapers scythe staring at him with a greeting and a bow with a very formal attitude. Was it even possible to become paler than the boil already was? Indeed. Dai jumped, out of his foggy skin, catching his foot on the root sending him flying forwards and on to the floor. OOF! Damn campus magic, this would of never happened if the apparent human form wasn't forced.

Well, he wasn't expecting this. Now, he felt like an idiot, he looked at the ghoul, a nervous chuckle clasping in his throat. "U-ummm, it's nice to meet you." With a sigh, he looked up to her with his light blue eyes. Woops. His glasses, where had they run off to. He looked across and just by her feet, there they were. This wasn't a great start to the 'day.' He had already made a fool of himself in his first class and now this. In front of a freakishly adorable girl too.

He pushed himself up to a kneel, sorting out where his books had landed. Somewhere over there on the grass. He sighed gently, they could stay there for now. He had to make his behavior up. Hopefully no one else would reach for them.

"Forgive my clumsiness and the rudeness." He turned his head to her scythe, nodding. "It's not every day you meet a talking weapon..." Ok maybe it was more ordinary than talking food, which the cafeteria meals had a knack for.

"My names Daisuke." He held out his hand to the girl. Offering another smile. This time, there was no way of messing up. Right?

Lilura giggled at her unintended joke as well then gasped as the ghost seemed trip and fall on his butt. Well, guess the school magics really did work to keep the more corporeal than they usually were. She felt bad for him, after all she hadn't meant for Tartalo to scare him. She tried to give him her best smile.

"Goodness young man, are you quite alright?" Tartalo looked down at him with concern on his blade. He was always concerned about children, maybe it was the soul he had been gifted. Or maybe it was the threat given by her great-grandmother about never letting the children come to harm. "There is no need to be nervous around me, nino. Lilura is hardly up to speed on her reaping and she is only to reap living souls. Far more powerful for her spells, yes" he nodded as if he were describing a reciple.

"Don't mind Tartalo, he's a bit of a twit sometimes," she giggled as Tartalo spoke something indignant in spanish then turned away. "Here, let me help you with your books. My cloak has it's uses," she grinned and gave him a wink before she clapped her hands.

The cloak seemed to come to life as it reached out to wrap around Daisuke's books and set them neatly in a pile next to him. It also dusted him off a bit and straightened his glasses. It then returned to blanket duty.

"I'm an Animator Witch. I bring non-living things to life, so to speak," she grinned with her tongue out a bit, "so that's kinda why I have a talking weapon and a living cloak. What kind of ghost are you? I've never been allowed to meet many back home," she crossed her legs and offered him a place on her cloak to sit. It had to be more comfortable than the ground.

Wow. After all the stories from his parents, he would of never guessed Reapers could be so gentle. He was pleased how the situation turned out, there was no laughing. They were actually concerned. This was becoming something a long the lines of a beneficial friendship. "Thank you. I'm fine" He chuckled, listening to the animated scythe as it incoherently cursed the young reaper. He was pretty glad his stuff hadn't been 'touched' as such but, something said even if she had, it wouldn't of mattered much. Now, he was as good as rotten again.

A light blush jumped to his cheeks at her body gestures. Lilura was really playful and he wasn't used to ghoul attention not to mention indirect flirting antics. Even though it was obvious she was simply being welcoming.

"That's scary cool. To be able to bring things to life, that must do wonders for school projects." That kind of power, how lucky she was to posses such a skill, he was quite envious. Though his memories hadn't returned yet, it was taking longer than usual. "Hmm, I'm a ghost wisp. You know the ones who are only good for getting you lost or grabbing attention enough till you walk in to a tree."

He shuffled his glasses up slightly. "So, couldn't Tartalo talk before you possessed him?" It was strange, after meeting the weapon, it just looked natural that it was always living, regardless, he moved to her side a little hesitantly at her offer. Sitting next to a girl... So close. Was this for real?

"Actually it makes cleaning my room a lot faster," she giggled. "When your clothes fold themselves and your toys put themselves away it makes life soooo much easier."

"And makes the witch much lazier," Tartalo hmphed.

"Oh you be quiet!" she frowned at her scythe and poked his handle. But she just smiled again. She was use to her scythe's scolding for "misusing" her powers. Frankly she didn't see what was so bad about it. After all her mother's plants all watered themselves and her aunt's mop and dish rag always kept the kitchen clean. In her opinion it was a time saver! She listened to his explination of his ghost type. She thought it was neat!

"Oh wow I've heard of those! Grandfather had one in the swamp behind his house!" she giggled loudly, "It kept leading him to the same bog and got his shoes muddy. But all he would ever do is shake his fist at it and call it a useless hounddog. We wonder about him sometimes," she giggled again.

At his question Tartalo looked at him with a smile, "No young man I was not born a living implement of death! I was created by a fine craftsman of infinate skill! Lilura's great-grandmother ordered my creation upon the announcement of Lilura's up coming birth."

"You see," Lilura continued, "in my family all the women can animate objects. But most are only able to do certain types. Like mother animates plants and one of my aunts animates cloth items. I have a great aunt who's kinda wierd though. Wears a lot of blue and only animates little wooden puppets," she shook her head a bit before continuing. "But my great-grandmother could animate anything so long as it wasn't already alive. Only one witch like that ever lives in our family. So when she felt my impending birth she knew her time was drawing near. So she had Tartalo made, animates him on the day of my birth, and died a few days later." She looked a little sad at this story and the scythe nuzzled as best he could head.

"There there nina, she knew you would be a great Animator. Otherwise why would she have given you such a magnificant creation such as myself," he grinned.

"Oh yes so magnificant," she rolled her eyes at Daisuke then pulled a book out of her book bag. "Here see, this is a book of things animators can create!" She flipped through the book showing all kinds of living objects, their names, and thier uses.

Daisuke laughed lightly, the two of them were certainly amusing. They had such an odd relationship. Love, hate was it? He could see that a weapon in a reapers life was a close, connected bond. apparently a must. He flicked his gaze between them, smiling and grinning at each remark.

"No wonder. Our race tend to be a pain in the butt but, we get called pretty glowy things. If creatures could, they would use us as ornaments or lamps." He chuckled, smiling at her. Her enthusiasm as she talked about her race, daily life with family was something to admire. For a while he kept quiet, just smiling at her as he listened, nodding every now and again. How killer cute.

A small saddened frown formed at the talk of her Great-grandmothers loss. "I'm sorry you didn't get the chance to know her well. Sounds like she really cared about you." He smiled and out stretched his hand putting it on her back in comfort. The look on her face made him feel bad but it was natural. As she showed him a book of things they could possess or reanimate in their terms, amazed him. They were so skilled, talented and ghosts were terrified of them? They weren't so bad. Now, he started to question the feud. Was he reaped? He couldn't remember.

"Mhmm show off."
He joked, playfully sticking his tongue out at her with a quiet chuckle.

Lilura gave him a happy smile at his kindness. She did wish she had met her great-grandmother. She had been told many stories about the few days they were alive at the same time. She had been so proud to see me and hold me. Tartalo liked to tell her abou the first time he met her. Her little fat hands wrapping around his handle and her squeel with delight as he spoke to her. He had immediately bonded with the small one, proud that he would be her protection. Then she blinked at his mention of being a lamp.

"Lamps? Oh mother would be beside herself if I had a ghost in a lamp," she giggled. "My family doesn't really do much towards ghosts. Though most are still rather afraid of us. We use freshly reaped living souls because they have no memories and no afterlife that we are destroying. So when we place them in an object, it is almost like a rebirth. They have no memory of their past, they only know what they are now."

"You see, young man, Lilura's family is one of the few reaper clans that are willing to befriend ghosts. There is not one exorcist in the entire clan. At least none has ever heard of one," he grinned.

Lilura nodded at Tartalo's explination. In fact, in her family, it was forbidden to use an already dead soul. They were much harder to control, had their own personality, and could defy the witch's authoruty. She had heard the stories of other clans who had been nearly wiped out due to the imprisonment of a powerful spectre. She giggled as he called her a show off and stuck her tongue out at him.

"Nah, not so much. I've only animated small things before. Like the salt shaker. Mama was none to pleased with that little trick. I'm still learning. Large objects that are made of more than one kind of material are very hard," she flipped a few pages, "but this is my goal in life. To make a mimic. It was the one thing my great grandmother was most famous for being able to create."

The picture showed several differnet versions of a mimic; the regular chest kind, a book kind for theives, and even a vase for art theives. They were guardians of treasure or thief eaters usually used by power demons or magic users.
PostPosted: Fri Oct 08, 2010 9:43 am

"That's good, I would rather be in death then be non-existent or someones personal tool." Questionable thought. He looked down at her book as she explained her goal in death. It was reasonable for the magic she used. He had heard of these objects 'mimic's' they pretty much had a mind of their own, great companions and weapons. To say the only goal in his was to extend beyond his parents and prove them wrong. By the time school finished, he hoped to be as successful as some of the higher races, dragging the ghost race name up with him and make them more noticeable than their current status in the social community.

She wanted to live up to the standards of an idol, perhaps they could be useful connections to each other. He smiled. "Mimic's ey. You're gonna be one rich, successful reaper one day, if you stick to it." He paused, tapping his lips with one index finger. "But for now, you gotta get through the school year first." He grinned. He definitely hadn't seen her around before today, even if he was trying to retrace what was looking lost forever at this rate, for some relocation of the reaper.

He shook his head gently. "What classes are you in? I don't think were in any together yet." He smiled. Though if they were, they could glide through them if they partnered up. Daisuke was all for independence but, if there was potential to do better otherwise, he wasn't gonna let that chance slide.

"Ah rich is a relative term but it keeps food on the table," she giggled and put her book away. Next he asked about her classes. Ah an interesting subject. When she had arrived she had expected to love all her classes, to being a total nerd when it came to studying. But for now, her classes had been relatively boring. Gym she hated but had to do it anyway, Nursing was just a side course she thought would help her out later. But she had her main courses she couldn't wait to take.

"Well so far only gym class and Nursing. Great Hecate I didn't want to take that gym class but Mr. Pointy here said I needed to get into shape," she pouted at her scythe.

"Nothing wong with a little exercise, as well as it will train you in battleing. That is very important," he looked back.

"Yeah yeah, still doesn't mean I like it," she turned back to Dai, "We weren't allowed weapons today so she locked Tartalo up in her office. I'm not use to being without him so it was a difficult class. The classes I'm really looking forward to are the Hexes and Spells class as well as Shadow Craft. What about you? What classes are you taking?"

She smiled at the ghost. He was really nice. She hoped she was doing a good job showing not all reapers were scary ghost busters of the Halloween world. She most certainly wasn't. She liked him. He seemed intelligent and not so over bearing like a demon and not so crazy like some other ghosts could be. Maybe they could be friends. That would give her friends back home a gasp; a reaper being friends with a ghost.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 09, 2010 10:10 am

"How could I guess?" He laughed lightly. Those classes were definitely her best choice, she would breeze through them no doubt. They would even have a class together, hopefully since he was interested in joining Shadow Craft too however the only one he had signed up to so far was... Literature. Oh how embarrassing that had been. His form had wisped out in to simple strands of fog that he couldn't even sit on the chair. Bam. Floor. The creature had given him a look of 'failure and disgust' not one of his most memorable moments. Times like that he hated the clumsy aspect.

"I joined literature and I'm going to read up next class on another but I've heard some students say that the teacher isn't around for a while, which means there really isn't any chance of being late. Seems edgy." He shrug his shoulders. "But- I will be joining Shadow Craft too, that was one that sparked my interest when enrolling here. It would be great if we ended up in some of the same classes."

Now maybe he was just rambling but he was excited. How could he not? He had a fiend, finally. Which would make the school year less dull and uninteresting. Those cafeteria breaks were not fun. At all. All in all, Lilura was different even from his idiotic entrance she had welcomed him like nothing happened. She was so... Friendly. He looked over at Tartalo.

"Have to admit, reading would be far worth the time than gym. Leave that to the athletics."
He sighed. That he was dreading, really. Gym. Ugh... Could be in the study hall... Even if it was mandatory in halloween you knew how to hold your own. Poor scythe, what an unpleasant experience.

Lilura beamed when Daisuke mentioned he was going to be joining up in Shadow Craft as well. That was freaky! Maybe they could be study partners! Lilura didn't like the idea of studying something so hard by herself. Tartalo could only do so much and the rest had to be her. In her family she had only heard of one Shadow Animator, a distant cousin. If she could master this it would be another great boon to her family's income when she took over.

"Hey Daiskue, why don't we be study partners when the Shadow Craft class starts? It will be much easier to do this with someone else who is learning," she smiled. Oh she did like this idea. And Daisuke didn't seem the type that would make fun of her if she made a mistake. Certainly she would not make insulting remarks toward's him if he didn't do well. Given who the teacher was she was pretty sure they would both be insulted enough. Now she had another idea.

"Hey, i've got an idea! Let's go look for an area we can practice! I don't like practicing in doors with magic, too much of a chance for property damnage," she looked around before looking back to the ghost for his decision.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 11, 2010 6:28 am

Thrilled, Daisuke settled with an eager nod at the suggestion. "That would be the beast." Which was true, it was like she had read his mind or something. . . Wait- could reapers do that? He wasn't quite sure but for Jack's sake, he hoped not. "If you need help with anything, you can always ask me regardless." He looked at her from the side with a small sweet smile.

Then like a rocket, she was off! He had to glance side to side, a little confused, what- when- where? ? ? Practice? Hmm... He wondered what they would be practicing but eventually he would also have to confront it and despite planning things to do, practical work he had been shamelessly lacking. He slowly got to his feet grabbing the neat pile of books in one arm then dusting the grass from himself with the other free hand, watching as it whisked away with the more lighter less noticeable wisps. Straightening up, he offered his palm to her.

"Sure, sounds like fun. Anywhere you particularly have in mind?"
He smiled, tilting his head curiously. Well, wasn't she spunky and spontaneous. He never saw this coming from the previous conversation. . .

"Hmm, well I don't know the campus that well yet. I suppose we can just search around for a place we think will be good. Somewhere we can't lose our shadows but can still practice," she took the pro-offered hand without hestiation. I felt a little weird, being that he was a ghost, but it didn't feel bad. Like holding someone's hand who had just put down a cold drink. It was interesting.

"Ah, making friends already. Very good. He is a proper gentleman," Tartalo approved and hopped into Lilura's other outstretched hand. Cloak came to life, shaking grass off itself before wrapping it's self around Lilura. The hood came up around her head and the rest hung down behind her. Of course the witch had no reaction to this, far use to her cloak doing that. Most found it kinda freaky at first.

"So tell me more about your family, Daisuke! I've never really met a ghost family before," she talked as she walked.
