 Thump, thump, thump, thump.. On and on the noise droned on, Yuffie's paws lightly tapping at the unsure surface beneath her as she made her way through the forest. However, she took a rather strange route of travel, leaping and bounding from branch to branch, tree to tree, up above in the very untraveled leafy greens more than a few feet up. "Hm, hm~" She hummed out cheekily as she moved, choosing to take a chance and do a small turn in mid-flight, landing backwards on the next branch as she continued.
It felt so nice to be able to do this again, with nothing holding her back but herself, if she chose to stop. But hell, she wasn't about to stop anytime soon! She'd been held back by those three darn kits materia-hunting-minions of hers for so long, the three of them so untrained and clearly not as skilled as she in the ways of.. of... being amazing like her! The vixen's muscles had been crying out to be stretched and worked again like this nearly the entire time she was stuck training those kids. But no more. Those newbie ninjas were adults now, and more than qualified enough to go out and get her some goodies! After all, she had been their teacher.

 He lay curled up in the branches above the forest floor, blood red gaze fixed on the ground, though clearly out of touch with reality. He was motionless for the need to breathe did not betray him as it did other foxes. He was a vampire; he did not need to do anything beyond sate himself every now and then. Even so, Ezio was able to maintain great control of his savage urges. It seems he had more of his father's traits than he originally thought he did. To Ezio, Vincent Valentine's nonchalance and ability to keep his head throughout the toughest of situations were amazing qualities, and he longed to be more like his father than anything else.
His ears then raised from their drooped position as he heard a light thump in the distance. His eyes snapped back into focus and he listened intently. Again the thump and he raised his head from his paws, eyes glazing over as he concentrated on the sound. It came again and again at fairly even intervals, and it grew louder and louder. He was surprised at how light this creature moved, and despite himself he could not help but be a bit curious.
He turned his head in the direction of the sounds, squinting his eyes. In the distance, he could make out the silhouette of a fox -a female at that- headed directly for him. He rose to his feet, hoping she would see him and come to a stop.

Rather slowly, the faint scent of something different in the forest was caught by the vixen's nose. Yuffie couldn't quite figure out what this particular thing was, though. She did know that it wasn't the surrounding foliage, or some prey animal below, nor a group of foxes.. this far off thing was starting to catch her interest. 'It's not one of the kids, that's for sure. They couldn't be this high up even if they tried!' She said to herself in her head with a short laugh out loud as she continued onward through the branches, ears perking up in interest. Now intent on following the scent, Yuffie eagerly pressed on. As it grew stronger, she realized that it was indeed the all too familiar scent of another fox.
One of the ends of her headband, whipping and lashing out into the air behind her head as she moved, suddenly smacked her across the face as she made a sharp turn. "Ouch!" She yelped out with a frustrated growl, giving a shake of her head to get the end of her headband away from her face. Finally free of the distraction, her eyes finally saw it: the form of said fox, coming up fast! Eyes widening slightly in surprise, Yuffie lunged at one of the branches above the male, thrown against it chest first with a hard 'thunk!'. Hanging from the branch with her front legs thrown over along with her head, her nails dug into the bark in order to keep her from falling.
"Phew." Catching her breath quickly as she pulled herself up onto it from her cat-like position, ninja-fox peered down at the other fox from above curiously. "Hey there." Ooh! It looked like she'd found her target~
