I am so nervous. We have never been this far! Zabreth twisted and tried to look at her rider. The green had come into adulthood relatively unscathed. They still didn't mention some of the trials of being weyrlings but now they were dragon riders! The green dragon was now a lovely shade of emerald green with random markings, average in size but she had a lovely attitude.
Ralae was nervous as well. Not allowed to join a fighting wing yet, the green rider was given all sorts of tasks to keep her busy. This time it was hunting for the Mystweed that the strange healer, Givon was supposedly to have discovered. Ralae remembered the man and didn't care for him. But of course, if it benefited the dragons, who was she to say no to her Weyrleader's request? She was supposed to meet with another rider from Trine at their hold and proceed from there.
"We have been twice, otherwise there would be another with us. Ready, Zay?" The teen called. Ready! One. Two. Three! And the two were between and then overhead of Trine Hold. Where are they?

Akayamine, there they are! Sleeth said excitedly, with a loud welcoming bugle for the green in the sky. Hello, hello! Sleeth and her Akaya of Trine greet you! She spread her wings in the Hold's outer court, with another call for the airborne pair. Ask if they would like to land or if we should just head out now, Akaya told her dragon. She was a bit nervous about this mission, but since they had been cleared for flying, even her weyrling group had been put to the task of searching out Mystweed. It shouldn't be too much trouble to search with a Malvren rider...
Would you like to land? Or would you like to start the search? Sleeth relayed to Zabreth, mentally beaming. She'd never met a green from another Weyr before, and she was quite excited about it.
Hello! I am Zabreth and my rider is Ralae! We can follow you? Do you wish us to land? Ralae, do we want to land? Zabreth asked as they appeared and circled overhead.
The green rider they were working with was younger than them. But that was okay! They were greens. And green was the best. Ralae was excited and trying not to act all in charge even though she WAS a wing rider. She was still young and looked like it. "We can just go to where we need to first?" Let us go where we need to? You know the way, yes? Zabreth answered excitedly.

Yes, the locals here said they think there is a place nearby,Sleeth reported back, as she launched into the air with glee. It is not very far. Akayamine and I are sorry we cannot yet simply go between, but the flight should not be long!
And it wasn't terribly long; all too soon Sleeth bugled to sign they'd found the spot and the dragons dropped out of the sky to land in the grassy clearing. Akaya dismounted with an 'oof'; she was still getting used to spending plenty of time in a dragon saddle. "The Holdfolk said they think they've spotted some dewy plants in the afternoon 'round here, so it's just a matter of looking carefully for what they've seen," Akaya said once Ralae had dismounted as well. She was surprised that the rider was about her age, if not younger--she must have Impressed quite young to already be a full rider.
It's okay. We don't mind flying! And with just two of us, we will get there quick! Zabreth reassured the younger green. She did lazy loops and swirls as they went to were the locals said the weed was located. Maybe there would be a shiny or something pretty to look at while she waited.
Soon enough they landed and Ralae hopped down off of Zabreth, giving her lovely a pat on the knee. She turned to see a girl about a turn older than her staring back. Oh! Well, she was the ranking rider but to be so young! Still. Ralae walked up to the other girl who was about half a head taller than her and had long curly hair. She gave a cheerful grin and held out her hand. "Pleasure to meet you, I am Ralae. I am sure Zabreth introduced me though. As for the plants, we can leave these two here and then take it slow so nothing gets trampled by dragon feet."

"Akaya," she offered warmly, shaking the other girl's hand before withdrawing her hand, self-consciously tucking a strand of long brown hair behind her ear. "That sounds good to me." Sleeth did have a bit of a clumsy streak at times, and it would certainly be a pity to discover Mystweed only to have it crushed in a moment of thoughtlessness. Keep good company, now, Akaya told her green fondly.
Of course! Sleeth replied with her 'farewell-for-now' trill. She turned to the other green with whirling, excited eyes. Zabreth! Your loops looked like so much fun! Akayamine and I must wait to do tricks though. The striped green sounded distinctly glum at the prospect of 'waiting'.
Akaya chuckled as she and Ralae left the chatty dragons behind. "It looks as if they are getting along well," she said with a smile. Then again, Sleeth got along with nearly everyone--or, rather, they tolerated the sunny green...
Zabreth preened and settled herself down. She was an average sized green and with her wings tucked in, she fit nicely next to Sleeth. Loops and whirls are the best. Sometimes I swim and blow bubbles! And then of course, shiny things.
"Zay pretty much gets along with everyone, as long as they got a kind word. Don't tell her but she can be a little sensitive sometimes. Well, we are looking for mystweed, right? Did you ever meet the Master Healer from Benden? Did not like him one bit! He bugged everyone from our clutch about the hatching and we were like before Impressing and all sorts of strange stuff. Then that horrible incident... YOU know which one. But back to the weed!" Once again, Ralae's strong and cheerful personality took over barely allowing for another person's to add their own words. "How about this? We can start looking in shady places or maybe we should try to find water? I heard these were thirsty plants."

Trine has very nice lakes! I like swimming in them, Sleeth agreed. Now that she could fly with Akaya, perhaps they could go visit the ocean properly? Or would that have to wait until after they had mastered between? My friend Eltimioth collects shiny things! She likes seashells particularly.
Akaya nodded along politely as Ralae took charge of the conversation. Somehow she'd forgotten the Masterhealer had been to Malvren Weyr first, and certainly if rumors had flown while he was at Trine, something similar must have occurred at Malvren as well. And the horrible incident--well, how could Akaya forget? She'd felt like such a stranger, intruding on Trine's grief, back then...and here she was now, nearly a fully trained rider, who'd live out the rest of her days at the weyr. It was a strange sort of feeling, comparing then and now...
She blinked, realizing Ralae had paused to ask her a question. "Perhaps we should try the shade first?" she suggested, with a deferential nod.
Seashells? I have colors. And make pictures of dragons. I could make a picture of you! Zabreth was quite pleased with this idea. She blinked and looked around, this place did not seem so interesting. Why do you need this plant again?
"Okay! The shade it is... Might have to get down on our hands and knees to find this thing. Funny looking plant, I don't ever remember seeing it around Malvren. Which you will have to visit sometime once you can go between. Your first time, you nearly piss your pants! I know one person who did. But right, the plant. We are getting it for Benden or us... Though Faranth knows OUR queens don't have any problems clutching." Breezing through that whole conversation, Ralae had stripped out of her flight jacket, tossed it away, and was indeed on her hands and knees looking for the funny plant.
Said funny plant in front of her was not what was needed. SHrugging, she giggled as she tossed the weed towards Zabreth and laughed when the dragon tried to dodge. "Sorry Zay! That was just too funny."
