Life is a mystery but death is all the more mysterious. Powers of God and Lucifer are at war. Their battle is not fought in the heavens or the pitts but down on Earth. When it comes time to die, Humans may tear his soul from his body freeing himself of his mortal coil and ensuring his eternal existence. These unattached souls became known as The Fallen. The Fallen are souls of beings who’s time on earth should never expire; however, they are not able to retain a physical body. The Fallen are not quite ghosts but not living either but the soul would gain great power based on their actions in life. Good, honest people would be granted powers of valor and virtue and evil people would be bestowed powers of darkness and chaos. The realm they live in is known as Purgatory, the eternal battle grounds. In this realm the armies of good and evil are at constant conflict. The one safe haven in this realm is The Garden. A massive structure hidden from the living. It serves as the gateway to heaven, or hell for the departed souls not chosen to remain in Purgatory for the war. The Garden also serves as Headquarters to the Astros, Fallen who are servants of good and virtue. Here Fallen warriors of all over the world gather to accept missions in the name of Heaven. The dark and twisted Chaos rely on The Pitt to dispersed to Purgatory to wreak death and destruction. The Pitt lies on the edges of the Ninth Circle of hell and is the only direct passage from The Garden to The Pitt. A secure and ancient gateway ferries judged souls from The Garden where they are sent throughout the reaches of hell to become wretched tortured forms of their formers selfs. You are dead! Were the events of your death peacful or tragic?. . . The eternal etheraly powers have been able to keep you on Earth, but your deeds in your life have left your soul changed forever. Did you leave a life of virtue? Are you Astros? or Did you leave a life of evil? Are you Chaos?

Welcome to my RP Thread. This is a free play RP. Anyone can join but a joining character much pick a side. Astos or Chaos [Good] [Evil] You may have any abilities you want aslong as you adhere to an element (fire, water, air, earth) but your abilities should compliment your [Good]/[Evil] choice. A [Neutral] character can be created but your will be resricted to choose from the bestiary or play a human spirit [Does not have elemental ability] in either realm. After picking a side you must sumbit the character skeleton: Gaia username: Character name: Gender: Age: Astros/Chaos: Affinity (Element): Race: (beasts or human spirits remain neutral) Bio: Weapons: Description sad Skeleton pictures under 400x400 pixels. Post pics under 200x200) If you don't want to create a character, you can chose one of the characters from the NPC list. PM panterajunkie1692 with your choice and why you want this character I will then consult with the characters creator and decide if you would be a good choice for the character. OC/Mission Ranking System: Both Astros and Chaos are given a Rank from E-A a. E is the lowest rank and it climbs to A. b. New recruits are automatically E Rank but depending on the RPer, it will go up. (You chose when you advance in rank through your RP.) c. A Rank is reserved for Dragon Kin Missions are given Rank from E-A as well. a. E is the simplest tasks and it raises difficulty as rank climbs to A b. The rank of your mission is decided by the OC's Rank. (That doesn't barr you from creating situations of a higher rank for your OC, just limit the rank of mission you may accept. Ex. OC accepted a D rank mission that escalates to C or B through the writing.) c. A Rank missions are reserved for interaction with the Dragon Kin. Again, the Rank of your OC and of the missions they accept are up to the User. (Take this with a grain of salt. I don't want to see a bunch of B-Rank powerhouses. A story without Character growth becomes bogged down or mono-tone.) <------------------------------------------------------------> Rules: 1.No God-modding. [No invincibility, un-blockable attacks, etc. allowed. "Assumed Interaction" is allowed] 2.Follow Assumed Interaction guidelines.[Guidelines are found in the Guild Home forum.] 3.Follow Gaia ToS. [Any sexually explicit conduct or other Gaia ToS violations must stay in PM's. Membership will be revoked if a User fails to uphold Gaia ToS] 4.Place out-of-character comments in double-parenthesis. ((OOC:"text"))[OOC posts are reserved for public member updates only. (announcing leave of absence, signing off, etc.) Other forms of information will be considered spam and should be taken to PM. Spam OOC comments in threads will be deleted.] 5.No flaming or spamming.[PM the thread owner/creator with concerns about other members, storylines, or posts.] 6.Literacy required [Many posts will be long sections of text. Keep grammer, syntax, and spelling errors to a minimum. (Here is a link to an online spellchecker.) Post in attempt to expand the point-of-view of your character and work to advance the storyline.] Disclaimer: This thread is a fantasy based loosly on many different views of Christianity; however, this thread does not have any religious affiliation. I simply used Christian symbology to build an extensive afterlife enviornment. I appologize in advance for any who would view these stories as blasphemy.

Lily stood high in the Hymilayan peaks, her dark green fur robes blowing in the fridgid mountain air. Her eyes were closed but she was fully aware of the hundred flying creatures zipping all around her. Her eyes flipped open and she slammed the bottom of her staff against the rocks. With this she fell to one knee still grapsing the staff. It began to grown and sprout vines. The vines grew extremely rapidly and homed in and weaved around while impaling the flying creatures. The vines held themselves up on the surrounding rocks and formed a large tangle of ridgid vines and leaves. The impaled monsters scattered and crushed in the structure. Lily pulled her staff away from the source with ease and exhaled. "One less batch of harpys for the monk's to deal with." She said aloud. "Still there are many more. Ill head back to The Garden for now."With that she twisted a dial on the gaunlet equiped to her right arm and was instantly surrounded with white light. As white feathers fell around the lit area, Lily's form disipated into a golden cloud of dust which seemed to rise and vanish. She emerged from a similar portal and stood and the grand stairway to The Garden, home and refuge to the souls of virtue, and judgement for the damned.

Alivia and Arrgon arrived a minute or two after Lily. The Garden was bustling with life, or death, whichever it was suppose to be, the place was busy. Alivia turned toward Arrgon and shook her head. "Well that was an interesting trip, though we should probably report back in and let them know what went down" Alivia turned and started up the stairs, Arrgon close behind. She wasn't quite sure why he was following her, maybe because he was new and hadn't quite settled in yet. No matter the case Alivia wouldn't be happy if she had someone following her around all the time like a sick puppy, but she wasn't going to say anything until after they checked in with Lily. They hadn't even gotten to the main area yet when Alivia spotted Lily's red hair. She caught up to her "Lily, we just got back from the circle's of hell and well what can I say, it was hell" Lily and Alivia both chuckled and then Alivia looked back at Arrgon, who had caught up and was now walking on the other side of Lily. Lily looked at the two of them and then started walking forward again. "We can walk and talk". The three of them started toward the assignment desk while Alivia and Arrgon explained their trip to hell in detail to Lily who added in nods and concerned looks when needed.

Lily's heart sank, and she fought her tear soaked eyes from spilling down her cheek. She had always playfully resisted Rivell's constant advances, but the way he described that girl, the way he was so adament about saving her; she admitted to herself, it made her a little jealous. In that emotion, she found that she had slowly began to feel something for Rivell. A feeling that had time to grow and fester inside while he was on his mission. It was useless to deny it to herself now. She had unwittingly fallen in love with the wrecklessly virtuous kid. And now, that was wasted. He was lost in the circles of hell. What was worse; The Astros had failed in finding him at all. According to Alivia's testimony, barely arriving in the First Circle, the three warriors sent to rescue Rivell were ambushed by Chaos in waiting. The resulting battle cost The Garden a seasoned and respected man. Zephyr had been killed, his mighty spirit altered and changed to one of the dragon-kin. As the mighty beast, Zephyr would serve God in ways The Atros couldn't begin to imagine. Still, his departure was a loss to all. This only made Lily feel worse about Rivell's situation. Was he defeated just as easily. An unexplained distant explosion Alivia mentioned gave Lily a glimer of hope. It was true, that Rivell, being one of the rare Astros blessed with flame, had unnaturally powerful strength that not even he could truely access. That fact, Lily held onto. She wouldn't give up on him, and her newly active Astros rank would give her the oppourtunity to fight towards reuniting with him once again. Reuniting and giving in to give into his cheesy pick-up lines, and give into the emotion she fought for too long. Alivia could see the pain on her face, and tried to change the subject. "It's odd for you to be out of The Garden, Lily.""Yes, It's been nearly fifty years since I left The Garden. I just had a feeling that I should get back out there. Take a more active role in the fight." She paused in a painful silience. "I guess I was right."Alivia gave Lily's shoulder a gentle touch before responding. "He'll be alright. We'll find him."Lily blushed. She hadn't realized this whole time how obvious her feelings were. She offered a smile before the trio reached the recruitment desk. Lily's replacement was sitting at her desk with a smile.

Mr. Church steepped forward to a desk which had three papers laying on it. He picked up the first, nothing but torture and anguish. The second, kill someone. The third, destruction of many. He slapped them onto the table then picked the first file up. He held it in his hands then studied it over. He set it down then grabbed a knife from the table and stabbed it into it, marking that it was accepted. He walked away to a door then placed his hand on the knob. Blue lines went from his hand and spread out to the door then he opened it, a flash appeared and he was gone into Purgatory. He looked around to see all the likes of it. His face showed no expression. He crossed his arms and sighed, walking off to the soul to torture.

Alivia was glad that Lily would be back on the playing field. It had been quite sometime since another Astro with the Earth affinity has been battling. Astro's are commonly gifted with a water or wind affinity, because of the illusion that they are more of a light element rather than earth and fire which are more commonly associated with Chaos. When they arrived at the desk Lily smiled at her replacement and then walked around the desk to file Alivia and Arrgon's report. As she was doing so Alivia turned toward Arrgon. "Ok listen, its not that I appreciate the help, but I'm more of a solo person. After this report is done I'm off on my own again." Arrgon shook his head and raised his hands palm up. "Ok Ok, geesh" He smirked. "Didn't know you where so touchy". Alivia chuckled. "Not touchy, just firm on what I like and don't like". They turned back to the desk. At that moment a small Faun came rushing to the desk. "I need to report an attack!" The small creature was out of breath and holding onto the desk for support, he obvioulsy ran quite a ways. Lily turned quickly abandoning what she was doing. "What happened?". The faun took in a breath before talking. "In the forest on the east end of purgatory, a Chimera attacked accompanied by a small group of hell hounds" Alivia turned to Lily. "A small group? That can't be right, they usually travel in much larger groups" The faun contiued to rant. "They are tearing the forest apart attacking the other fauns as well" Alivia was already punching in the cordinates into her gauntlet by the time the faun had finished explaining the situation. Lily and Arrgon looked at Alivia. "Don't worry I got this one" She turned and sliced a portal stepping in.

Lily began to laugh and Arrgon smiled at Alivia's enthusiasm. "She can have it. I need some R&R. That mission was something else, and I haven't even been promoted from E-Rank yet." Arrgon turned and began walking towards the rectreation center designated for the Astros. It was more of a lounge than anything. He raised his arm in a silient departing wave. "See ya, around."Lily sighed. Alivia's enthusiasm was one thing, but her experience behind the recruitment desk told her this task would require two Astros, if nothing else, as a pre-caution. The task at hand made her think of Rivell again. He'd managed to defeat a similar group of chaotic beasts, including a chimera, the day he found her. "Alright." She said aloud. "I'll go back and provide back-up if nessacary."Lily laughed to herself. "Alivia's not going to like this."Lily walked out of The Garden and down the steps. She thought about how Alivia used her gauntlet inside. The Astros never teleported inside The Garden for the human souls' sake. The currents of spiritual energy that flowed into The Garden was a one way path. Souls go in, get sorted and leave to heaven or hell. No soul leaves once they arrive. The gaunlets manipulated that flow of spiritual energy to reverse the flow and allow their soul to leave The Garden. Using the gauntlets in the lobby often posed the danger of upsetting the still confused departed souls or in rare cases, permanently damaging a soul. Lily would have to remind Alivia of that fact. After reaching the flat at the bottom of the stairs, she twisted the knob on her gauntlet and vanished. She emerged at the prescribed coordinates but Aliva was no where to be seen. "Already in the fray, huh?" She said aloud. "No matter. They won't be difficult to find."With that she grabbed a small stick about an inch and half thich and six inches long from her sash. She grasped the stick in her hand and with a flash of light from her palm, the stick grew into her wooden staff. She placed the bottom of the staff against the ground which became rooted. The roots were active and moving as they pushed their way into the ground. Lily closed her eyes. Alright, grow deep. the forest will know.

As soon as she had arrived at the forest Alivia heard the roar of the chimera in the distance, she rushed toward it. She though of how reckless she was in the Garden. Activating the gauntlet inside was looked down upon for celestial reasons but she knew if a chimera was on the loose especially in faun territory they needed help, and fast. Alivia was getting closer to the chimera because she could see the fire, though she didn't get much closer before a hell hound slammed into her from the right. The two rolled, as they rolled Alivia pulled out a dagger and stabbed the hell hound in the side. The creature let out a howl of pain and then began to snap at her face. As Alivia reached up to block the beasts mouth and in the process she dropped her dagger. "s**t." She grabbed the hounds jaws and twisted snapping it neck, it fell limp and Alivia pushed it off picking up her dagger. "Damn mutt". She turned and headed again toward the Chimera. Now enraged about the little hell hound stint. More hell hounds came after her but she made quick time of them. Two came from the left, Alivia flicked her hand and a the groudn curled up crushing ontop of them. She walked into the clearing to see faun's running everywhere, some shooting with their small sling shots at the large three headed creature. Alivia pulled out her pistols looking at the creature. After a short consideration she put them back in their holsters and pulled a long katana off of her back. She figured it would be more accurate and the stray bullets might hit an innocent.

Mr. Church looked to the now upside-down Faun, dangling from a tree branch. He whistled and sharpened a blade on his gun. He looked to the edge and watched it shimmer. He continued to whistle as the Faun tried to struggle out of the rope, at no aveil. Church smiled then turned to the Faun. He srapped the blade against its flesh, causing it to barely cut through the skin. The Faun whimpered as Church stabbed the blade into the Fauns knee-cap, then pulled the trigger on the gun, blewing it away. The Faun cried out then Church stabbed into the other knee and did the same. He cut the robe and the faun slumped down onto the ground. He tried to run, but fell due to the busted knees. Church threw a gun blade at the fauns shoulder, then threw the other at the other. The Faun was pinned to the ground and Church walked over. He put his hands on the guns and pushed the blades in. The Fauns screamed and he pulled the triggers. He slashed sideways, cutting the Fauns back and pulled out the blades. Church holstered them and smiled. "You are free to go now." He stated calmly and walked away.

Now, it wasn't as if, the tree's could talk to her, but what happened in the forest always left signs, A snapped tree branch, a damaged blade of grass, these small tale tale signs of unatural changes in the woods told her a lot. In the distance, she felt the massive group of creatures dueling with Alivia. That see expected. What she felt next she did not. There was blood, and the trees near hadd stresses from supporting someone's weight. Alivia would have to wait for a moment, Lily felt compelled to investigate. She wasn't prepared for what she found. "Oh my God!" She yelped when she saw the Faun. The helpless creature was soaked in blood. From his body a streaked trail of his blood led back to a tree with a rope dangling from it. She rushed to the creature's side, fighting back tears that were beginning to form. "Who did this to you?" She said aloud, the creature wouldn't respond as most Fauns don't mingle with human spirits enough to learn spoken language. He did however slightly open his eyes to meet Lily's gaze. He was in agony, and his life force was slipping. There was no here after for him, creatures don't have souls in the traditional sense, even ones aligned with the Astros. It they were killed, just like Fallen, they would be gone from existence forever. This fauns life was over. Lily gave the creature a gentle touch on the head before standing and turning away. She couldn't bring herself to watch his physical form dissipate and become nothing. The fact that she could do nothing strengthened her resolve. That creature hadn't been killed by hellhounds or the chimera. No, this was sinister, planned, done with human hands. A Chaos was near, and from the looks of his work, he had no patience for general torture. This being was dangerous. Scanning the earth with her staff again, she managed to pick up the disturbed blades of foot prints in the grass. She focused until she found the last step, so far. She locked in on it as the foot prints continued to be crushed into the grass. "There!" Lily exclaimed, as she noticed the general direction the Chaos was heading. Alivia and her battle was directly in his path. Lily sighed. If she didn't catch the torturer, Alivia would cut him down for her. She withdrew her staff and rushed into the thick of the forest, her light robes waving in the winds.

Lily followed the evil Fallen's footsteps and was already manipulating the forest to her favor. In a few short minutes, She had altered, grown and spread vines and sparply thorned brush through out the forest, creating areas that were purposly intraversable and others that weren't. With her design, the Chaos would have very few specific paths in which to move. That area had become, in all sense or the word, a maze. As was her habit and enjoyment, her maze had been adorned with scattered and few vines of beatuful flowers and buds of all sorts of local species. Her gifts could be used for combat, and in her early years, she was infact a talented and stealthy scout but her powers also left a mark on the living world. Her plants and trees left to grow and thrive in the places they were sown. The way she saw it, if she was going to make a mess fighting Chaos and demons, she should at least make it look nice. It was just on the edges of her maze closest to Alivia that Lily found him. An elderly man with a gray clean buisiness suit, red tie, and sunglasses, he was clean shaven and looked healthy. In all appearances, he looked like an entrepaneour, yet their was definitly something sinister about the way his intent was hidden behind those glasses. She followed her maze and rounded the corner to where he had moved to. The path closed behind her as branches from the side walls stretched across and blocked the gap. "Dangerous it is to move so unwittingly through Purgatory, Chaos." Lily spoke to her task. Presise. "You are guilty of hanus crimes against the dead and etherly creatures of Purgatory. The penalty is oblivion."Lily was calm and collected, only her face, hair, and staff showing from under her flowing garb. She awaited the Chaos's next action. Whether by fleeing or making an attack, she would need his first move to begin her attack.

Mr. Church stopped, his back to Lily. "Creatures of Purgatory? I have only tortured one. Creatures is plural, meaning many. I have done none but to a single Faun, which is singular." He stated calmly, no emotion behind his voice at all. He crossed his arms and turned around to her. "So, what is it you are out here for? To kill other creatures? Now who is the crime commited towards? I killed one of yours, but as I see, you have killed many a creature of mine. Many a creature, plural in a sense." He said in a monotone voice. He put his hands on his gun holsters then cracked his neck.
