So does anyone know or know anyone that can explain the rules of fandom to me? I know that copyrights have sway over images and names, but does anyone know about certain phrases or quotes?
I know at convention's it is pretty much a free for all, but I wasn't sure about rest of the year or anywhere other than a con.
What about if you are a American, but it is a Japanese idea. Are you held accountable in the USA or Japan?
If you have a link that would be even better. Thank you! heart

Oh man...That is quite an undertaking. I have no idea what the rules are. What I've always seen is that people people note at the bottom of a post that all characters are copyright of _____ (the original author). I would guess that phrases and quotes would be the same or that you would quote it like any other thing.
You might contact a publisher like TokyoPop with these questions. They'll probably be able to provide you with the correct rules and information.

It's so crazy! Apparently as long as you are not stealing something that they actually make you are okay, as long as you give credit.
There are a lot of grey area's - and that is only what we could figure out from the US rules.
