{Changed everything. Looked at it this morning, hated the idea.} Sometimes, you're lucky enough to be born human. Should your luck be better, you're born as one of the Dracovian races. If not, you're born a demon whom is hated by all society. So what do you do when you're both a demon and a dragon? It's never happened before. Dragons and demons just don't get along. So how did it happen? It wasn't by science. The humans have yet to get their hands on a live demon, they always kill them. As for capturing a live Draconian, that's even more of a feat. And yet...this one creature exists. He is still young at the age of 170. He has lived all alone, hidden away from the world within a forest. His home is at the bottom of a hollow tree. The entrance is a small tunnel that is hidden by marsh grasses and hay. He has to hunt for his own food, since he learned very early that walking into a human village would get him killed. Thus, he stays in the forest and eat what it provides him, however little it may be due to weather. Unbeknownst to him, during his growth, the world has changed. Humans now rule the planet. The demons were banished to another realm. And the Dracovians left for the skies and have not returned since. In other words, he may as well be the last of both kinds. This story starts when the forest that he has always lived in is visited by a human, one that has come there numerous times, searching for something he has lost. The Dracovian demon is resting in a hammock made of branches, right outside his hidden home. Upon his chest, lay a book full ofwords he can't read adn pictures he's never seen... So long as I stay here, away from humans, I'll be fine. If I never leave this place, I can live peacefully. But...is this what I want? Name: Kyoumu, for I am...nothing. Kyoumu stared at the lines on the page, with pictures beside them. They fascinated him, for he never held a book before. He knew what it was, but never got close enough to hold one. He frowned as he could not make sense of anything, though, so he simply looked at the pictures.
Eventually, he got tired of this and lay the the book flat upon his chest. He lightly stretched and leaned back in his hammock to take a nap. Humans had not come intot he forest for years, and especially not this deep. He felt safe here, safe from harm. His eyes drifted shut as he fell to rest, one arm over the book, and the other hangign off the side.

Misaki wandered through the forest in search of his book. "Where could I have lost it? I've never been this far in before..." he looked around until he came upon a small clearing. He glanced about, never before seeing this part of the forest before. He then noticed a figure laying in a hammock. It was holding something to it's chest. He quietly walked over and took a closer look. He stared at the male then at the book. It was his.
He quietly yet cautiously tried to move the book out of the male's grasp. Misaki had succeeded in sliding the book far enough to take it until the sleeping man moved and it was back to square one. He did the same procedure once more until he had finally retrieved the book and was on his way to leave when he stepped on a twig, causing a loud crack to be made.

Kyoumu slept peacefully, his mind full of empty dreams. At some point, he felt the book shift and he moved, not wanting it to fall. Then he fell under the spell of sleep once more. Then he heard a snap noise that immediately bought his attention. He sat up, his eyes honing on the sound and he turned his head. His eyes widened at what he saw. Then, his nose helped him confirm it. "A human!?"
He leapt from his hammock and hid instantly. What is a human doing so deep in the forest!? "Ah...um... Er... Ah-hem... I am the dweller of these forests! L-Leave or I will... I will...?" He seemed confused as to what he should say. After all, this was his first interaction with a human in ages.

Misaki turned and backed away a little. "S-sorry!" he bowed and looked at the male. "I-I only c-came to get my book. T-thank you for finding it..." he looked down at the ground. Then he noticed that this man was... different somehow. He had a weird aura exerting from him. The human just shrugged it off and smiled sheepishly up at the odd male.
"I-I'll just... be going now..." he turned to leave and began walking away from the male. He wandered through the forest but found that he was lost. "How did I get myself into this..." he mumbled and continued looking for a way out of the forest. Every turn he made just let him deeper and deeper into more trees.

Kyoumu blinked as the words hit his ears. Nothing didn't fully register until the human had left. "He said... H-He said it was his book..." He blinked and slowly stood up from where he hid in the grass. "Hm... Wait."
He looked to where teh human went. "That leads to where the human has gone. No...that's deeper inside... If he gets lost... No, he will get lost... And when he goes missing, more and more jumans will come... More and more humans..." Instantly, he got the image of humans burning down the forest, finding him and his home, blaming the loss of the human upon himself, and then him being burned alived. "No! I can not have that!"
He made his way through the forest, his movements quiet and swift. He quickly found the human and grabbed his arm. "Not that way... There's only confusion... Follow me. Do not return. No more humans... Leave me be...and I lead you out."

"W-wait. Don't walk so fast. I'll fall." he warned , trying to keep up the male's pace. Misaki was falling behind, getting hit in the face with leaves and tripping over roots. He let out a loud groan after falling on his face once or twice and yelped when he hurt his ankle. "Wait. I hurt my ankle." he sat down and rubbed it for a bit before sighing.
Once able to stand again, he walked at his own pace, not allowing himself to be pulled along like a dog on a leash. Once his leg finally gave out, the human sat down and tried to rest. "I can't walk much farther. And I have a question. Were you reading this book?" he asked and tilted his head to the side a bit.

Kyoumu didn't speak back to the other human much. He was too afraid, too afraid of more humans coming there. When the human fell over once or twice, he stood there, fidgeting about, and looked left and right nervously.
He blinked at the words 'hurt my ankle'. He didn't know what to do. so he simply stood there.
Then he was asked a question and froze up. "... ...R-Read... N-No... I...can not...read. No one, teaches me. If I can not read, I can not survive? Yes? Not true. Not true at all." He stepped a bit closer, cautious like an animal. "Can not...walk? Then I...um...I...uh..." He looked at a loss.

"No one ever taught you? Well.. until my ankle feels a little better, I can teach you. That is, if you want." he suggested, gesturing for the other to come a bit closer. "Don't worry. I won't hurt you or anything. Here let's start." he opened the book to the first page and smiled up at the other.
Misaki began to read over a few words and occasionally asked if the male knew those words. If not, he explained in small detail so that he would understand. "Reading is simple once you get the basics down."

Kyoumu was shocked when told he would be taught how to read. "You...you will!? Why? You don't...want to...hurt me?" He was hesistant to move closer, but he could not resist. He moved close, and knelt in a way that he could flee at a moment's notice.
He knew very few words, he'd lived out there so long without this skill, was a feat in itself. But this was...a deep forest. "Reading...hmm... You teach me...many words I not know before... I hea you. But then...you leave. Never come back. Never!" He placed a hand over the human's ankle and his hand glowed blue. "Better, yes? I made better. Forest help too. Now go."

Misaki winced when his ankle was grabbed, but the pain went away and he was amazed. "It feels like new... Thank you..." he stood and began to walk away. He glanced back at the other. "Here. Keep the book." he walked back and took the other's hand, placing the book on hi before putting his other hand on top of it. "Try to read more words alright. Bye." he waved and began to walk away again.
Sighing, he found his way back to where he had come and went back to his house. "Man... what a day..." he unlocked the door and went inside the house, going into his room and flopping on his bed. The male that he had met was... odd. But Misaki was glad he taught him something.

Kyoumu was surprised when the human gave him the book to keep. "I...can keep?" He didn't smile, but he felt a strange emotion...happy. He nodded his head. "I will try. B-Bye." He watched the human leave, and made sure the other did not get lost again. When he was sure the human was headed towards the way out, he returned home.
In his hut, hidden away from the world, he opened the book, using the sunlight that was streaming inside, the re-read the pages that the human had taught him from. "...I can...read now..." His mouth twitched, and tehn slowly became a smile. He went to sleep when the sun set. Even though he could see perfectly well at night, he made a point to never be out after dark. For that, is when the wild things came out to play.

Misaki found himself waking up from a deep sleep, sprawled out on the floor. He glanced over at the clock and jumped up. He ran through the shower, getting to the point of smelling alright before jumping out and drying off. Once done changing into his uniform, he grabbed a piece of toast, shoved it in his mouth and grabbed the keys before hightailing it out to his car. He started the engine and was on his way, making pretty good time.
Once at work at the police station, he quickly went to training at the shooting range. There he met his trainer who instructed him to begin his round at shooting. Taking a few shots, he had been able to hit the head once and the chest three times in the short amount of time given. He was given a few pointers, of which were easy to comprehend.

Kyoumu woke up and went to scavenge for food available that day. He found some herbs, mushrooms (lucky!), and some left over scraps the animals picked from catches outsife the forest. He brought all this home. He made a small fire and grabbed a cooking bowl he made, himself, years ago. He fetched some water from a river not too far away, adn boiled it over the fire. He put everything in there and made himself a nice soup stock. That morning, he got a good meal.
Later that afternoon, he was reading the book the human had left him. He was reading the next page when a thought came to him. "Name... A name is...what?" He went back to the first page. "Mi...sa...ki...?" Is that what the human was called? His head jerked up as he heard a twig snap. He gasped at what he saw. It was another human, but this one was obviously not lost. This human had a weapon...a weapon he that...when it roared, it hurt...a lot. He'd been shot by one before...
Immediately, he took to his feet, running for his life. He had no belongings to worry about, only his life...and the book given to him by a...goood...human.

After many hours of work, Misaki sighed deeply and signed out, going to his car. He wondered what that man or... whoever he was was doing. Getting in his car, he started the ignition and drove in the direction of home. Parking in the driveway, he used his keys to unlock the door and went inside, locking the door behind him. Going to the kitchen, he grabbed himself a bottle of water and some grapes, just to nibble on while he watched T.V.
"What's on T.V. today..." he asked himself, flipping to the news and watching. His head shot up when he heard that there was a hunt going on in the forest. Then a wave of worry surged through his body. He stood to his feet and grabbed a jacket before running outside and disappearing into the forest. He looked around. It would have been easier f he knew the name of the other.
