So, my husband has expressed that he is interested in attending my GYN appointment with me. He would like to know what exactly happens to a female during a pap smear. Though, I've explained it to him. I am happy to have him come with me. It also make me happy to know that he is curious about the things that go on with me- other than just asking.
I was wondering if anyone else had brought their boyfriend/husband/girlfriend along with them?

I've gone to all of my exams alone. Just because of when I've had them, I haven't had my boyfriend in the room with me, or in the waiting room, but he's been in the waiting room for some of my other doctor appointments.
Personally, I guess I'd be ok with it if he wanted to. I might be a little self-conscious, but I wouldn't be upset or anything like that. I guess it'd just be personal choice and preference, and what each woman is comfortable with.

Nikolita I've gone to all of my exams alone. I was just wondering if any other female had someone who was curious enough to actually want to be in the room. I don't mind. I mean, he sees me nakey all the time. I wish I could read his mind though. He seriously does not want me to make an appointment on a day he might have to work. It's kind of funny. Maybe next time he has a physical I will go with him- I'm curious too!

He comes to most of my appointments with me but I think he was at school when I had that one. Besides, since it was my first time I didn't really know what was going to happen so it was easier by myself. If he wants to come to the next one I don't have a problem with it but he hasn't specifically asked. I wouldn't be suprised if he was curious though. whee

One of my other male friends went with his girlfriend. Apparently men are curious as to what happens.
I think it's okay, but just make sure it's okay with the doctor. I went to the gynecologist today, actually. There's a sign there saying that only one guest is allowed. Apparently enough people asked about the policy. So, if it's not posted, ask.

My bf goes with me all the time. I think that he finds it interesting. xd My doctor doesn't seem to have a problem with it, I always like to ask if it's ok though.

Well Im luck atm that I've got about 12 months before I need to go... (How oftern are we suposed to go??)
If my bf asked... i don't think I would let him.. I'd be a little embrassed, except I have been with him to the docs. (Only for a cold) I supose opne day further on the track then maybe...

Every 12 months, unless something abnormal is found then they will tell you when.

My fiance has never come to a gyn exam (they always seem to be scheduled while he's at work or school), but he regularly comes with my to my dentist appointments (and I to his). It has nothing to do with curiosity, and, aside from worrying if it was stressful or if it hurt for me, he's never been particularly curious about a gyn exam. He really hates doctors and I doubt he'd choose to be in the presence of one if he didn't have a bloody good reason such as giving me comfort or an appointment of his own.
