HELLOTEA
 The pumpkin was raised in a flourishing pumpkin patch among many of his kind. A family of farmers tended to the needs of the seasonal squash, giving them good supplements and sometimes just sitting among the pumpkins and coaxing them to grow larger. It was a trick, and it worked - at least, that's what the family liked to think. They certainly didn't raise the best looking pumpkins, nor the biggest in the county; however it could not be argued that pies and pudding made of their squash were of undeniable quality and taste. And so it was that the pumpkin lived on a tad too peacefully. There were hardly any disturbances in the patch - if there were, it was nothing more than the occasional pesky crow. It was soon known that he was the one pumpkin who was much larger than the rest, different, and very unique. One day, the farmers didn't come to the patch to water the pumpkins. As the time passed by, the family never came back to the pumpkin patch. Unknown to the pumpkins still thriving, they had all died of the menacing plague that had crept over Panymium in the last few years. In an act of mourning and respect to the industry they had raised with such care, the relatives buried their ashes to the side of the patch, right next to the largest pumpkin of them all. And as the hours turned into days, and the days turned into weeks, the pumpkins started to shrivel into themselves, and eventually faded from sight, sinking themselves into the dirt and their origins. Finally, the pumpkin was the only one that still lived within the patch. His insides had hollowed out, and he was no longer alive in the clearest sense. However, an unnatural orange glowed within him and a black presence that tainted his very presence filled the air. Toshua Green found him one day when he was exploring the new territory that was his new home. A pumpkin for Halloween, he had thought. Wonderful! Picking up the huge squash and realizing it was surprisingly light, the boy carried it home without the permission of his parents (who would be annoyed that he had gone out by himself) and placed it on his bedside table as a decoration for the upcoming festival - Halloween. Tosh did not seem to be bothered by the strange aura emanating from the object, nor did he seem to notice the queer pulsing colors that hung around the pumpkin. Little did he realize later just how strange the pumpkin would turn out to be. |

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES a faint splattering of freckles across his nose
APPEARANCE Tosh is skinny for his age and possesses an immature look to him. Most of Tosh's fat is probably baby fat, and he's not the type who eats a lot. His grey eyes are heavily lashed and his hair is always a mess and not completely black - the color has a 'faded' feel to it. His skin is slightly tanned and freckles like to situate themselves around his nose. While Tosh may have a tiny bit of influence from his Yirui roots (the miniscule slant of his eyes), his mixing with the Panymese have proved dominant and his sharp nose points that out blatantly. Overall, he's an attractive young boy, though as he's still going through puberty it's still rather hard to tell.

PERSONALITY is known among many adults (and other children) as being a rich kid. There's no doubt that he acts like one too, with the haughtiness with which he carries himself and the way he looks down on others. It's not that he's mean - it's just that he truly believes he's better. Toshua is very self-centered and most of his time is spent thinking about himself. He won't ever agree to anything as long as it burdens him in anyway - his 'friends' are there to help him with that. There are few that Toshua care about more than himself, and Edoras is one of the few. He's always honest, and while at times he can be brutal, Tosh really doesn't care. He always tells the truth and it doesn't matter who you are, he'll tell you what he thinks. He's naive and possessive and is altogether quite childish for a boy of his age. Toshua hasn't grown up, like most of the children who have been raised among death and the Plague - his parents kept him at home to keep him 'safe', and in conclusion, he ended up spoiled. He doesn't take anything seriously and tends to drift off when listening to lessons or taking notes for class.
He's a good person inside, everyone says so, it's just that he hasn't quite figured out how to let the good out. Tosh is guarded and not really immersed into the controversial aspects of socializing - dating and marriage are things that as a 15-year-old, he hasn't much explored. He's incredibly intelligent, a trait which was probably passed on from his two Scientist parents. Toshua has always been this way, ever since the year after he was born, when he learned to speak much faster before other children his age. His parents were delighted - competing parents were not. Unfortunately, he retains no real interest for his studies, and prefers exploring the world outside. The boy is incredibly loud when he wants to be, and he likes getting all his ideas out there, even though they usually aren't the best ideas in the world. He just wants to be heard, wants to be liked. Unfortunately, nobody wants to be friends with a spoiled brat. Toshua finds everything ridiculously funny and laughs a lot, though much of his amusement comes across as condescending. He is quite brave and tries out new things just because he wants to.

HISTORY Anne-Maríe and Tomas Green met each other in late Autumn. Their courtship was long and romantic, and they loved each other more than anything in the world – and it was enough. After their marriage, they settled in Imisus. Tomas' job as a chemist, while not the most lucrative, was enough to keep the both of them happy and Anne-Maríe helped out when she could. They loved each other. They also, soon enough, lost most of their relatives to the plague. It was a quick thing, and within three months, the two had attended more funerals and cremations than anyone had any right to. The two were changed. They did the only thing they knew was right and they joined the Council of Sciences.
Toshua was born on December the 18th. His parents knew, when they saw him, that they would love him with all their hearts, that they would give their lives for that little boy. He grew up among experiments and logic and reasoning and as a child Tosh was an experimenter and tried everything.
He wasn't born rich or spoiled. It was only after the age of five that he started to become the person he is now, selfish and overbearing. Now it almost seems natural - after all, ever since his parents worked with something very important for the Scientists and his grandparents died and left his father a surprising inheritance, money has never been tight. As soon as they had gained the status to do so, Toshua's parents all but jailed him at home, horribly frightened that he might contract the Plague and be doomed. Tosh grew up by himself after that, and the few times he was outside, he tried to play with the other boys. They never really accepted him. After a while, Tosh got the message and just played at home - sometimes he came up with imaginary friends and talked to the few servants the Green household had. As a child, his life was nothing short of boring and abnormal - his parents didn't seem to care, as long as he was safe.
So in the end, much of Toshua's life continued in the same manner. That is - until he found Edoras, and after that - ... well, let's just say it's gotten so much more interesting.
