Date number two. It felt like an Arceus damned miracle to him. Date number two. Oh Arceus, did he want to hug Len until her braidtails curled on end. It was a feat he felt he would never accomplish in his life. Yet, this was date number two! Score!
Sorano had invited Lilith out to this swanky little shindig happening in the middle of Campheron. It was actually a small ball for those of a regal nature, yet the dance class he volunteered in as a lead had also been invited to meander in the festivities. The party was actually in celebration of a CEO's daughter. Sure, she was hot looking in the form fitting slit dress but she was hardly on his mind. He was concentrated on seeing Lili at that party, that is the only person who he had on his mind as he pulled at the knot of the red tie that seemed to be growing tighter with each passing moment.
He was also looking quite suave for the moment too -- bearing a crisp, ironed button down and a pair of classy pants held up high by suspenders mimicking parabolas. The tie bounding about his neck was as tight as his junk which he could not feel at all. He had to shift every so little while as he leaned against the wall, squinted eyes glancing every fifteen to twenty seconds at his watch. It had been a while since he chose to dress up so nicely. That would explain the tightness of his pants. Yet, that could not explain the tightness of his throat and chest.
Where was she? Did she just up and leave him because he was fashionably late? Was she late? Was he too early?!
Ahh!
Panic began to sent in as sweat pearled on the back of his neck and played a dodging game with his hackles as it streamed down his skin. Where was she?
Never rolled his eyes as he lay curled up on a cushioned chair. The only thing worse at watching Sorano panic was the black bow tie pinned into the fluff of his fur. It was itchy, it was scratchy and it looked downright horrible on him.

No amount of praying could prepare Lilith for her second date. A second date. The prospect was mind-boggling. Before this, she had never even been on one date, but a second? With the same man? A man that she had come to care for? What devilry had caused this scenario to come into play?
Indeed, she did make a small prayer to the numerous Legendaries before she set out into the town. Her knees felt weak and her heart felt like it was a bomb; it could explode at any second. As quickly as she could make her way in heels, she followed the streets until she came to the address that Sorano had given her. It looked very posh, and Lilith felt alienated in this environment. [Having to wear a dress did not make her feel any more comfortable.] Taking a deep breath, she plunged into the throng.
Once she had entered, she removed her coat and hung it on the rack, looking about her. There were all manners of people here, most seeming to be rather elegant in regal in their affairs. All wore very fancy and presumably expensive outfits; the women had grand gowns and jewelery, and the men wore very dapper suits. Lilith bit her lip. She did not stand out very much.
She wore a simple lavender dress that was garnished with ruffled shoulder sleeves and a curving design on the skirt. Her long brown hair was carefully tied into a ponytail with a long silk ribbon while the bright red piece of her hair hung loose. She wore some light eyeshadow and blush, for it was all she could find. Around her neck was a string of small pearls. All of these things were overshadowed by the shining brilliance of the other guests. Lilith tried to keep her mind off of that fact as she scanned the crowd for Sorano.
After searching through the large and ever-expanding sea of party-goers, Lilith finally found the teal hair that she was looking for. She hesitated for a brief moment, then plucked up all the courage she could muster and walked to her date's side. A blush painted her cheeks. Her voice was quiet with embarrassment and uncertainty. "Um... H-hi, Sorano..."

"Oh!" It looked as if someone had pinched his side when Lilith greeted him. "Oh, heya, hi, um, Lili."
It took Sorano a moment to behold the sudden beauty in front of him, fingers twitching as if she was an expensive gem out in the open just to be stolen. A light burning coated his features as he returned to his senses. Damn, she looked good. Too good. Hell, some pish-posh idiots were making eyes at her from the distance as she approached him. It took all Sorano could to not wrap his arms around her and shout, "She be mind, ya idiots! Stop flippin' ooglin' 'er!"
"So's um, ya 'ungry?" he asked with a slight crick of his head towards the food table. "Or we, did'ya want ta do somethin' else? Like, erm, I dunno."

Lilith chuckled a bit and smiled, somewhat flustered. Sorano looked... good. No, it was more than that. He looked great. No, it was even more than that. He looked handsome. Sorano actually looked pretty damn good in a suit. He seemed out of element, though. Of course, Lilith was out of her element as well, so it was of no concern to her.
"Hungry?" Lilith blinked at Sorano's query on what she wanted to do. She looked about her. There were quite a few people at the buffet table, which held several fancy delicacies and dishes. As tempting as it was to eat something so that her clenching stomach would settle, her eyes were more focused on the dancing couples on the floor. She blushed and glanced at Sorano.
"Well..." she started. "I guess that maybe we could, y'know... dance." She rubbed the back of her neck. "O-of course, I'm pretty terrible at dancing, so..."

"Dancin'? Oh yea . . . dancin'. I don' mind if we dance . . . Idon'min'ifwedanceatall . . . um, y-yea, shall we?"
Sorano shifted his gaze to the side, searching for his direct source of assistance whenever he was caught up in his own dollop of messes. Yet, Never was nowhere to be found no matter where his sight darted. Where had he gone?!
The Flareon had been eying a female Delcatty across the room and she had been returning his glances with flirty flips of her tail. It seemed as though Sorano wasn't the only one going to be busy with another that night. Sorano was riding solo this time.
"Err, yes, le's go . . . " he said when his search came to no avail. He gently took hold of Lilith's hand and jerked her to the center breadth of dance. Here's to a hope he won't be stepping on any tender feet.

Lilith took hold of Sorano's hand and held onto it gently, though it felt like she must cling to it like a life-raft in the ravaging sea of party-goers on the dance floor, lest she get swept away. As they entered the fray, Lilith glanced about her at the other women at the gala. Many had extravagant gowns of silk and satin and sashes that seemed to be woven of moonbeams. Each seemed to shine with a brilliant radiance of a neatly polished jewel. Lilith, on the other hand, felt like a lump of coal in comparison.
They came near the center of the floor, and as they did, the orchestra began to play a slow, but vibrant, waltz. Around them, the couples immediately adapted to the change in music like it was second nature. Still holding onto Sorano's hand, she looked up at him like a Stantler in headlights. "Uh, u-um, I'm r-really not sure what w-we're supposed to do..."

"Well, um . . . ya puts her right han' 'ere an' your left han' 'ere an' I . . . " Sorano gulped a loud, thick gulp as he fixed her hands against his own posture. Yet, it went down like a Slugma across sandpaper. "An' I ums, I put my han', err, 'ere."
One hand clutched her dainty waist and he nearly fainted. He had put his hands on other women before just for the utter thrill of touching a woman so. Yet, placing his hand on the woman before him made him filthy and disgusting, as if his true intentions were nothing more than the wanton lust of a lecherous old fool. He kept as much distance as he could away from her. This was to simply be a ballroom waltz, of course. However, many of the couples were squeezed up against each other in lovey-dovey embraces. Both Lili and Sora stood out like ostriches in a flock of flamingos. It was truly awkward.
"A-Are ya ready?" he asked. He didn't want to start leading until they she was ready. Rushing would just cause (more) problems.

Lilith let her hands be placed on Sorano. She also gulped, though somewhat less loudly than her date, and held onto him daintily, as if she were holding a newborn bird. She almost did not want to be too near him. Around her, as Sorano had observed, the other couples were closely drawn together like it was perfectly natural. In this case, though, it was not. It felt strange holding onto someone like how she was, especially because it was Sorano. It made even more infinitely strange and awkward when Sorano gripped her waist.
Never in her life had Lilith been held by the waist before, and certainly not by a man. He held on gently, and even the thought of that hand at her side made a blush creep onto her colored cheeks. She tried to ignore the odd sensation of it, but no matter what she thought of, the feeling would not disperse. Instead, she looked up at Sorano and gave a small nervous smile. "O-okay... I think I'm ready."
Whether she was telling the truth or not we shall never know.

"Alllrighty than . . . "
One foot began the movement, the other set for lead. With light force, Sorano edged Lilith to follow him in footing and from that, their waltz began. Throughout it all, Sorano was restraining himself. She felt a tad bit stiff and it took all he could to level his lead with her. He did not want to admit it, but dancing with his date was like dragging the monuments to Palkia and Dialga around the dance floor. This brought a slight smile to his lips which he tried to portray as sudden rapture for just being in her company. It was an evilly vile thing to think about, yet he had been quite influenced by his womanizing best friend back in Kanto. Moose had little tolerance for most woman. Sorano, on the other hand, was a pure gentleman (when you got passed his idiot side, at least).
The music singing from the orchestral choir began to speed up in tempo and Sorano took the time to spin Lilith. He nearly lost his grip on her and as he pulled her back to his torso, he sighed.
"Sorry, 'bouts that, nearly made ya fall." he murmured towards her. He was beginning to stiffen up himself.

The waltz began. Lilith tried her best to follow Sorano's feet patterns with her own, but began stumbling over her feet. Her body felt stiff with her uncertainty in herself. Even though all of the other couples were completely entranced by their own dates, it still felt like all eyes were on her and Sorano. Her clumsiness and lack of elegance was making her truly embarrassed.
Suddenly, Lilith felt herself being turned around on the spot. The surprise of this action caused Lilith to almost trip and fall. She gave a faint cry of shock and was pulled back into Sorano's arms, which she then clung to. A sigh escaped her lips as well. "It's fine... I just have two left feet when it comes to dancing. It's so humiliating..."
Lilith clenched her teeth. This was not going very well.

"Would ya like ta stop?" Sorano mouthed through grinned teeth.
Throughout what seemed to be Lilith's chagrin, Sorano was rather enjoying himself. Sure, it was embarrassing, but quite too much fun. Seeing his date trip over her two feet seemed a bit, well, cute. He did not wish to stop. Out of avarice and some sort of sadistic nature, he did not want to stop. He offered her the option anyway -- any pure gentleman would.
Somewhere in the middle of the ball, Never was canoodling his date for the evening. Love was (somewhat?) in the air tonight.

Lilith frowned at Sorano's suggestion, though she would truly like to take up the offer in a heartbeat. She did not dare to show weakness here with the highest of the social class. She might embarrass herself, yes, but damn if she wouldn't go down without a fight.
"Thank you for the kind offer..." She pulled away slightly and gave Sorano a coy look. "...But I think I'm all right. I just need practice, I suppose." At this, she chuckled a bit and blushed. She would get this right if it killed her. After all, she felt like she would rather die than mortify Sorano now. That was the last thing she wanted.
The music continued, as did the couples around them. Lilith took Sorano's hand with a new gusto. "Shall we try again?"

A strong piece of determination this one had. Most girlies Sorano danced with would give up straight on the spot. It was good to see a flare of courage when wanted after such a long time of training newbies.
"Alrighty." Sorano laughed and laced his arms around her waist this time. Damn, this girl knew how to charm his heart, huh? "Ya ready?"

A small shiver went up Lilith's spine as Sorano took hold of her waist, but the feeling was overshadowed by an unfamiliar jolt of excitement. Her voice was still tinged with a hue of nervousness when she spoke, but she hoped that she sounded confident. "Y-yeah, I'm ready."
The music continued its merry jaunt, and the couples around her and Sorano went on, endlessly dancing and dancing. A few couples had left the dance floor to retreat to the food table, which was growing ever more popular as the night wore on, but most were diligent in their waltzing. After momentarily studying the others around her, Lilith attempted to move her feet in the pattern of the music.
One, two, three, one, two, three, one, two, three, one, two, three...
Her feet felt clumsy and ungraceful in her heeled shoes, and she almost stepped on her partner's feet several times, but Lilith tried to keep at it. Her goal was to get this right, and she would see that goal accomplished.

Twas like a midsummer's night dream their dancing was. King Oberon with his fellow queen Titania, cascading across the floors of the fairy world in their own step of passion and romance. It seemed as though the commanding juices from the "love-of-idleness" refused to drain, refused to evaporate. It was truly quite passionate; for a writer at least. To any onlooker, the two looked like a pair of dancers following a course of trip, step, twirl, trip.
Sorano kept his everlasting smile shining as the hands of time remained suspended on unmoving threads. Had the time really elapsed since his dancing? The grunt hadn't even taken note that others were already leaving the dance floor.
"Oi, yer gettin' better." he commented as the same repetition of steps went on. "Yer a quick learna."
