Anyone else collect vintage 80's toys?
I have a tiny collection of various sorts, my little ponies, care bears, rainbow brite, She-ra etc.
If you don't collect just fell free to reminiscence about your favorite or least favorite 80's toy/toys.
If you do collect, did you save your items from childhood or did you buy them later in life? Do you prefer MIB stuff or open stuff on display?

I've mostly held on to the toys I've had since I was a kid. The majority of my my little Pony collection is this way. Though I have bough plenty of items in recent years either to replace lost or broken stuff or things my parents never would have bought me. smile
Some stuff though while I remember it fondly I've had no desire to replace like my voltron and thundercats toys. I loved those shows as a kid and played with my toys on a regular basis, but my fascination there didn't last into a adulthood.
I also really loved my barbies in the 80's and while do still have some and I still do occasionally pick up barbies. I don't really feel compelled to repurchase those either because frankly the 80's barbies are kind of really terrible with their crimped hair and terrible blue eyeshadow.
I generally prefer my toys to be in near mint but out of box shape. Their toys after all they're meant to be handled and played with. Yes, I do still play with my toys. Though by play with I mostly mean pose in different locations but still...

I love 80s toys~ Although I'm a 90s kid. xD I don't really have much of a collection yet, but I would like to start one soon. Preferably with lots of Rainbow Brite, My Little Ponies, and Jem and the Holograms. I have lots of My Little Ponies, but they are mostly ones from either the 90s, (The Magic Movers and the Teenage version ones, if I recall) or nowadays.

I've recently been picking up MLP fakies at thrift stores to start making some customs. I used to enjoy doing it when I had more free time than I do now, has anyone else made custom MLPs or anything similar?

I still have several toys scattered around that I've kept, but I usually don't buy anything new for the sake of keeping it in mint condition.
Of the top of my head, I've got a Sprite key chain from Rainbow Brite, a few My Little Ponies from the movies that were released around that time (remember those? blaugh ), a Barbie or two, and a Lite Brite. (I know Lite Brite is a 60s toy, but I got it in the 80s/90s)
