Already her cubs had grown to adolecent, it was strange, knowing her cubs were older now, wiser, out on their quests, it was also a lonely time. She had not been alone for such a long time now. Of course, she wasn't really alone, alone, she still had the pride around her but not having youngsters around, not having a male of her own to cuddle with now that the children were gone, gone maybe never to return, well it was hard, to be alone.

The older lioness walked towards the borders, her left foreleg had always been turned inwards and now, in her old age, her paw caused her pain, but it was nothign compared to the pain she felt about being alone.

Deep blood red eyes, inherited from her father, scanned out over the rogue lands, her ears flattening against her head. Perhaps that would be the last time she would enjoy the pitter of little paws or the joy of a male at her side, she was no spring chicken after all.

He had never been this way before. Not that it mattered, right now he was a rogue, and he was loving it. He had managed to leave his younger brother at their pride and his twin sister had been given the slip back there too, so he was alone, which basically meant, he was free. Free to do as he liked.

His deep dark eyes fell on the lioness as she hobbled to what was clearly the borders of a pridal lands, he could smell them, there were a lot of lions here and he worried about that. preides with lots of lions usually meant lots of rules, he really wasn't interested in hearing those rules.

Still, he walked closer, a slightly concerned feeling in his chest. he usually simply took what he wanted, but it was hardly fair to take from a cripple.

Lawanda lifts her head, her ears twitching at the approach of a very large, very blue lion. She smiles and curls her tail around her foretoes. "You look lost." She smiles, her deep blood red eyes filtering across the big male.

Others often got lost in the swamps it was a part of its charm, getting lost and finding your way out again. Of course, he wasn't quite in the swamps yet so perhaps he was just generally lost? Either way she lifted her head high and stared steadily at the large male, despite her disability she was a strong lioness she always had been, she knew how to handle herself.

Tukwana smiled an almost gallant smile, she was an older lady, he could tell by the way she looked at him with keen red eyes and a confidence only born of age. "I'm not really lost, I'm just wandering." He nods his dark blue head in a slight bow.

"I can smell many lions around here, do you live here? It smells very, wet." he raises a brow curiously his deep blue eyes casting curiously over the khaki lioness.

The dark lioness observed the males mannerisms. She knew players when she saw them, she had met a few in her past after all, she wasn't really sure if this one was a player or not, or if he was simply dangerous, either way she watched him curiously.

"Yes, I live here, and the pride is exceptionally large." She smiles, putting an emphasis on the exceptional part. There were a lot of strong lions in the swamps, she was not alone out here. "Perhaps I can help you to wander in the correct direction? I know much of the area both int he swamps and outside of them."

The big blue lion shakes his head. "Trying to get rid of me already?" He raises a brow, he wouldn't cause trouble with this female, he had already decided that, but he didn't want to be pushed away. Perhaps there would be something interesting in this pride.

"A swamp you say? I have never been in a swamp, whats so interesting about living around here?" He could hardly imagine a lion pride living in permanently soggy conditions, but it seemed to breed large lions, okay she was a cripple, but she was clearly large and strong and full of wisdom.

Lawanda shakes her head and chuckles, her bright red eyes catching a glimmer. "Yes, we live in the swamps, it's a very peaceful place to live. Prosperous and plentiful. There have been lions in the swamps for a long time now since long before I was born."

She raises a single brow. "My name is Lawanda, I can bring you in for a short while but be warned we are not tolerant of trouble makers here." She wasn't really sure if she could trust this big blue male, but if he tried anything untoward she could drop him in a sink hole and go for help. She was no fool.

Tukwana looked taken aback, perhaps this lioness really was some sort of mind reader, or perhaps she could just see what he was from miles away. She was wise and he felt stricken to behave, behave like he had long ago for his mother.

"I would like to see your swamp lands Lawanda. My name is Tukwana, I come from some distance away, and I promise not to cause any trouble, I have a feeling you have ways of dealing with trouble." He smiles a cautious smile and flickers his tail. A swamp, he had never been in one it would certainly be an interesting experience.

The khaki lioness snorts and nods. "Come then. I have my eye on you, just remember that." She gets to her paws and turns back the way she had come, her tail high in the air her bloody red eyes glancing back occasionally.

She walked with a limp as she always had and with age her joints on her left fore leg had become painful, but she didn't notice it any more really, except for when it rained, when it rained she was in a lot of pain.

"Many stay you know when they have visited the swamps. It is a good place to live, perhaps you will never want to leave."

Tukwana stands slowly, looking out over the rogue lands he had just come from he shrugs and follows the large lioness. "Perhaps, but I have family at home, and despite everything I like to return to them." He states simply, his deep dark blue eyes watching as the lioness moved with a limp. He admired how she hid it yet it was completely obvious that she limped.

"I would like to learn of this place." Being civil had always been difficult for him but he found it easier with this capable lioness, she expected him to be good so he would be. He had no reason to cause trouble and he had a sick feeling she could take him out if she needed to.

Lawanda laughed quietly, though her back was on the big male she had been watching him carefully observing his movements. To her he seemed like a disobedient child, a youngster whos mother had gone and left him without her guidance. Perhaps that was why he was out wandering. Well she could take care of him if she needed to.

"Watch that patch of mud just there Tukwana, it's a sink hole." She states her tail flickering and a smile lifting on her maw. She would easily drop him in a sink hole if she wanted to, if he misbehaved. There would be no misbehaving around here.

Tukwana grumbles sidestepping the muddy patch, his toes had gotten wet but other than that, well she clearly knew things about this swamp that he did not and he really didn't want to get lost in here, he wanted to learn and return to dry land, perhaps.

"What exactly is a sink hole?" He questions speeding up a little so that he could follow her footsteps, which was quite difficult, her path was easy, fluid, despite her limp and she moved quickly. He could never exactly see where her paws fell.

Lawanda chuckles "You'll find out if you start causing trouble Tukwana, I'll drop you in one, am I clear?" She wasn't about to take any nonsense from this big male and gods help him if he tried. She smiles back at him. "Just you behave yourself and I will teach you much about the swamps okay?

She smiles and steps in to some murky water before continuing to walk. "My den is this way." She states moving on with only a seconds pause if he didn't want to get wet, well he would have to make his own way back to the borders.

He paused only for a moment before plunging in to the water after her. He was perfectly sure she would tell him, eventually, what a sink hole was exactly, but until that happened he was happy just to just follow.

"Water doesn't phase me but I'll be happy to get back on dry land again. This swamp, it's a very interesting place." He smiles following her quietly contemplating.

Lawanda laughs as they step up on the bank, shaking out her fur she leads him to her den. "You can stay here with me while you're here but don't go wandering, the swamps can be dangerous for those who don't know their way around."

"Come, you should rest and when you waken I will start your education, you certainly look like you need one." She smiles laying down in the bowl of a tree and placing her head on her paws.
