Serah had always know that Seth was quick to fight. However, this habit of Seth's seem to worsen as Raite. Wasn't the negaverse supposed to-- you know-- discipline you? Although one could say it was where people took out their frustrations on poor civilian's starseeds. Her face was buried in her hand, a exasperated sigh escaping her.

When she said she'd teach Raite manners, she meant it verbally. Not in a spar-- but she wasn't one to turn it down. She had never actually sparred with Seth before. This was a curious opportunity that interested her more than a little. She examined Raite for a moment, curiously zooming in on his weapons. Tonfas, was it? An unusual close combat weapon that suited Raite unusually well.

"Your head really isn't screwed on right, Raite. But someone's gotta properly introduce you to this negaverse hierarchy. I suppose it'll just have to be me." She spoke, her heavy and begrudging tone regarding Raite as a bother. It really was-- she hadn't been up for a spar tonight. At least, it hadn't been on her list of plans. There they stood, both agents of the negaverse standing apart on the rooftop.

Serandite's bunny grew within a split second, charging ahead towards Raite. Expected, Serah to have a giant massive bunny of doom.

Obviously, his stare conveyed a Do I care? to her facepalm. Raite was perfectly fine with his personality. And he obviously didn't care about what other people thought of him. His gray eyes stared at Serandite, although you really couldn't tell if he was waiting for her, or actually listening to her. It was probably not the latter.

His body reacted before his mind did, instictively avoiding the bunny's attack by taking advantage of his jumping abilities; his form was suspended upside down in air for a moment, before his hands lightly touched Serandite's bunny and landed on the other side. A bunny? He hadn't expected that stuffed plush to maximize into her weapon. It appeared that Serandite's love of bunnies had amounted to something after all. How to attack that.. his mind was already calculating them potential weaknesses of a stuffed doll. But staring at the bunny's form gave him a headache. Did Serah really have this for a weapon? And how on earth did it grow to that extent? It was better if he didn't question it.

He cut off all thoughts, immediately running up to the large plush, his long leg aiming for a kick to it's neck. Taking care of the bunny would come first, to temporarily immobilize it. He would go for Serandite after.

Immobilize her bunny? It was a good move-- if one thought in terms of living animals, a shot to the neck would be the best move. Unfortunately, Raite would have to start thinking in the "plush" department. Serandite scoffed as she saw his leg lifting up high, standing behind her bunny with a smirk, brown eyes sparkling with the light of excitement.

Take that!

Raite's foot met the bunny's plush neck, his foot sagging into the soft stuffing around that area. Taking advantage of his momentary surprise, the bunny grabbed Seth's foot with both paws. Both paws held on tightly to swing the lieutenant around in circles before throwing his form into the air. It wasn't a spar that involved the stealing of starseeds so Serandite didn't make an effort to get closer to Raite to reach into his chest.

Including the fact, if she got close to Raite, Serandite wouldn't be a match for him in close hand-to-hand combat. Her bunny would but not Serandite's small frame. But that was why she had the power of teleportation and youma-- in necessary cases that required close fighting.

"That goddamn bunny." That was Raite's first thought, being held up by a plush. It was one thing for a human, or even a youma, and another thing entirely for his momentary defeat to be an inanimate object. Or perhaps, not so inanimate not.

He caught himself mid-air, forcing himself to regain his composure. When he landed, he landed with one foot squarely in the bunny's face. He didn't hesitate, the force of his kick could have easily bruised their chin if not dislocated a normal human's neck. But this was neither normal nor human. The kick sent the large plush flying back towards the gate of the rooftop.

He landed afterwards, his legs spread out to absorb the impact of the fall. His hands held onto his tonfas a bit tiredly, while his gray eyes lifted to examine his opponent wearily. Although it was debatable if it was from the exhaust of the battle, or the bunny. His expression could be likened to one of disgust. "I really, really hate that." Raite obviously did not have any tolerance for cute, sugar, sweets, or anything that Serandite chose to associate with.

Loppy laid limp for a moment after Raite's swift blow, lying limply against the gate. But it was too much to hope that the bunny was down for good. Obviously not, due to Serandite's devious expression, amusement increasing as Raite voiced his displeasure. Why she and Raite were mutual friends as civilians was also a mystery. Even though one could claim it was due to mutual connections, the male had never snubbed Serah when she was young. As least, not so badly, enough to claim any seriousness.

"Oh, come on Raite. I'm not a captain for nothing." The lieutenant had sorely underestimated her-- as every other negaverse agent and senshi did. (God, that was frustrating.) She shook her head, brown eyes sparkling, noting Raite's lack of.. energy at the thought of fighting her rabbit. That only made the battle more advantageous to her.

Especially with her newest secret move. It was spectacular.

"Loppy, flashlight version!" Serandite pointed directly towards Raite, her bunny leaping forward from it's seemingly-unconscious state, facing Raite, eyes looking down. The beams of white light from it's eyes shined directly onto Raite, concentration to the maximum. Maximum.

He looked towards Serandite, flashlight version? The attack name was obvious, yet Raite couldn't bring himself to believe that the attack would be as idiotic as it was named. But it was. Raite's arm immediately went to shield his gray pupils from the bright light, blinding in it's beam. In doing so, he was open to the bunny's attack.

The bunny jumped over Raite, it's immense towering form blocking the young lieutenant's vision. THUD! The large plush weapon landed on Raite with all of it's weight. His tonfas went clattering to the floor, sliding across the rooftop to stop at the gates of the rooftop. Was the lieutenent lost to the fate of the bunny?

No, not yet. "Serandite." Raite's murderous voice came from beneath the bunny rabbit, crawling out from beneath it. However, he could only manage to get his head and upper limbs from beneath it, sending a glance (if looks could kill) towards the pink hair captain.

Serandite's foot promptly met Raite's tonfas to prevent it form falling and to prevent the other user from calling his weapons back. Meanwhile, she relished the sight of her bunny withholding the lieutenant's movements, her hand over her mouth in a "queenly gesture," tipping her head down to look at Raite, chucking.

She didn't dare take her bunny off of Raite. At least, not yet. She lowered her hand, crouching down in all seriousness so that her shining brown eyes met Raite's aggravated gray ones.

"You should be glad I took it easy on you!" She pointed out, shaking her head. "If our Queen caught you.. Well, you wouldn't stand a chance. If you can't beat a silly weapon like mines, how do you expect to stand against the captains? Or worse, Generals?" Serandite chided, her weapon's weight forced the cocky lieutenant to listen to her. Willing or not. She paused for a moment, heaving a heavy sigh, hand cupping her chin.

"Even you've got better sense than that, Raite. You can't afford to be lacking in etiquette-- especially when this kind of formality costs you your life. Down to the point, you can't just be your usual self and stroll into the negaverse life. It's not General Charonite or Nealite anymore. She's not going to go easy on slackers." Serandite stated, eyes lowering, the fresh memory of their's leaders icy image still ingrained in her mind, clear as day.

The captain's works hit him at his core - reminding Lt. Raite of his own weakness. His gloved hands clenched in response, hating himself all the more. He wasn't as foolish enough to deny the difference within their levels. In this world, physical strength was no longer as important as the magical capabilities of both the negaverse and senshi. He gritted his teeth, his gray eyes filled with grim resolve. But he had to become stronger in his own way. He wouldn't accept it otherwise. That began with Serandite and her bunny.

Meanwhile, when Serandite began to speak in her forlorn voice, Raite listened to the young captain's worries with an almost considerate silence. And then he sighed in response to Serandite's worries, as if she had been worrying about nothing of importance. Despite his own thoughts on the matter, there was one thing that he was sure of. "Don't worry. I don't plan to die any time soon."

He was focusing on getting out from beneath the rabbit, finally managing to upturn the giant plush. He knelt down, eye to eye with the young girl he knew as Serah Eos. "I'll listen .. for now." Which meant that the young lieutenant was willing to make concessions to their queen. He didn't know the same loss as Serandite, but he did know of their previous queen, Nealite having a chance to come across her before he joined the negaverse. He also knew of Queen Beryl's cruelty. Between Queen Beryl and Seth's personality, he was bordering a fine line. "What an organization we've joined." He remarked, having to accept the facts. In a show of rare gesture, he leaned over to pat the younger girl's pink curls.

"How about we get off the rooftop?"

"Yep." Her quiet reply to his remark was solemn as she continued to think about it, tears staring to form at the large rim of her brown eyes. But they never fell. She blinked up in surprise when Raite's hand met her head, eyes widened and eyebrows raised in dumb surprisement as Raite's hand pulled away.

Raite? Patting her?

.. That was a first. It wasn't a bad first, it was more of a .. good first? Serandite recognized it was a giant step for the other, the aloof male she had always known never found it necessary to express compassion.

Serandite, as a captain, shouldn't have needed such compassion. However, Serah did. Even though she knew, a captain didn't need sympathy from lower ranks, the hierarchy of the superior-soldier logic had never been a mantra for Serandite to follow. She hurriedly wiped her forming tears with her black gloves, leaving only a bright-eyed and smiling Serandite in a mere second, recovering quickly. "Will you take me out to ice cream, Seth?" She asked eagerly, gathering Raite's starseeds in hand to return to him, a wide dazzling smile directed towards the reluctant lieutenant. "It'll be like old days!" She referred to their lifestyle beforehand, when Seth might sneak out with her.

... Every once a year or so.
PostPosted: Mon Oct 18, 2010 7:13 pm

"Aren't you too old for that?" But Seth didn't offer much more complaints, not really one to lecture or care. If Serandite wanted to single handedly finish candy mountain by herself, Seth wasn't going to stop her. With a flick of his head, the glowing starseeds gathered in Serandite's arms disappeared into the negaverse's subspace along with his tonfas. "Fine." Seth agreed to the younger girl's request. It had been a long time since he had seen her after all.

As they switched back into their civilian personas, they both began to head for the nearest and still open cafe. A cafe would offer more choices then ice cream, yet it would be sufficient enough for Serah. "Tell me who the generals are." They were only second to the queen in their current army. Although Seth knew that Charonite had been their general-king, he was no longer here. That left only the generals that Serandite had mentioned. Raite wanted information, and Serandite seemed more knowledgeable as a captain then any of the other lieutenants that Raite had encountered.

"Are they like us?" Or maybe the more accurate question was, what were they like?

Serah was eating a giant bowl of ice cram, flavored piled on top of each other, toppings littering the entire mountain, when Raite asked his question. A pause followed as Serah was forced to swallow down the giant spoonful of ice cream she had just taken, gummy bears and all. "Yeah, you wouldn't want to actually come upon them and try take their starseeds. They'd take you out in a minute flat." Serah stated, putting her spoon down on the side reluctantly. She'd get back to candy mountain later--- hopefully sooner rather than later, really.

"They're like us. Well, differing in terms of strength and experience. But civilian wise? Like you and me." She gestured to herself and Raite-- after all, under their negaverse persona, they were nothing more than school kids or college kids. Skipping homework. Patrolling nights. Never getting enough sleep. Yep. Normal kids.

"Generals. There's Linarite. She's got this gorgeous blue hair and staves. She's really cute though-- you dont want to hit on her, Seth, she's got a boyfriend. Audrey is not for grabs." Serah warned, although the thought of Seth hitting on anybody so blatantly was unthinkable. "There's Obsidian-- he's perfect for the negaverse. Literally, you just want to shove a bunny down his throat to shut him up. So be wary of a long red-haired Andrew Collins. A lot like you, really. I think you'd get along well. Of course, you might also get into really epic fights with him. A show I'd like to see." She debated it, imagining the sight in her head. If they were on the same level.. it would be a highly impressive fight.

She was mixing around her ice cream with her spoon when she spoke next, momentarily pausing to think of who else Seth should watch out for. The first one that came to mind instantly when you heard the word "danger."

.....

...........

"Hm. I dont think she'd do it.. but she might. But she might not. .. You'd never know." Serah was deep in thought now, looking distractedly off to the side, muttering to herself, hands rubbing the sides of her head a little more anxiously than normal, eyebrows curved inwards, a frown overtaking her previously humorous expression.

He had ordered a simple black coffee. Serandite was a different matter. Seth merely stared after his question, unblinking. He was wondering how the young girl managed not to choke herself - with that much going down her throat, he wouldn't have been surprised if she had. But he was surprised that she hadn't. If she ate like this, any dentist would have fainted on sight. In fact, looking at that, Seth felt like he was losing his appetite. "Ugh.." He had to look away from the sugary concoction, lest he wouldn't be able to eat anything for the rest of tomorrow. For a male who didn't eat anything on a normal basis, Serah's meal was like jumping over a cliff.

He decided to focus on the topic at hand instead of the ice cream. And he wasn't worried about people overhearing, considering that they were at one of the far booths and the employee was on the other end cleaning up. "I understand." So the generals were much stronger. He had anticipated that. But as for their civilian - it was a bit hard to believe that he might have passed them on the street without knowing. In fact, Serandite's description rung a bell. Would she know that Obsidian was the leader of his team? He had met Andrew previously, to which he knew as General Obsidian. But Linarite? Nothing.

"What makes you think I'll do that?" He asked with an uninterested glance. No, he wasn't interested, much less on hitting a taken girl.

"Probably." He answered to the question of getting along with Obsidian. Seth liked the male. He was strong, his mouth curving into a satisfied smile. It would be engaging to fight the other male on equal terms. If the negaverse had anybody that Seth liked, it was Obsidian. And that he may have been the only one to handle the lieutenant with the least problems.

"Hm?" He noticed Serah's anxious reaction, and her reluctance to talk about something. Another general? The poor girl looked like her head was about to explode that Seth stood up, and placed a hand firmly over her head to stop the dizzying motion. "Breathe." All that sugar killed what was left of her brain cells, "Are you an idiot? Don't think that hard."

"Now that's just rude. Calling me an idiot Seth. If I'm an idiot, you're a good-for-nothing turtle that just stays in it's little shell all day long. You're not making friends with that talk, I assure you." Serandite retorted, an awfully long retort to a mere word of insult. She sighed heavily, turning her gaze purposely away from Seth to the side, delaying their conversation as she shoved a spoon of ice cream into her mouth. One cheek was packed, her frown and creased eyebrows indicated that she was more than a little annoyed with Seth.

But it was the way Seth worded it-- Serandite could think! It wasn't as if her mind process was limited to sugar and candies. Honestly, it wasn't! How else was she supposed to get through life with that sort of mindset?

"Well.. I doubt you'll run into her.. but Tanzanite is pretty much a wildcard. I'm not sure what she and that youma arm of her will ever do-- we're not that close-- but watch out for her! She's entirely purple, even that youma arm, so you'll recognize her." Serandite put her pointer finger up in a gesture of warning, smiling as she did so. It wouldn't be so bad for Srth to be roughed up.. but Tanz was a rarity these days.. or she had been for the last few months.

"As for the rest of the captains.. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting them personally although we see each other in meetings. Some of them are a little.. odd, to speak. But you could say we're oddballs ourselves." Serandite concluded, finishing the last remains of what had been an ice cream mountain. Come on. A girl who liked bunnies and a morally bankrupt male with the emotions of a vase. Great recruits. Really.
PostPosted: Sun Oct 24, 2010 1:49 pm

A turtle? Seth had to raise an eyebrow at that remark. It was an incredibly simple insult. Exactly what he expected of Serandite, nearly chuckling. "I see that you haven't changed." His elbow was on the table, the side of his face was leaning on the palm of his hand as he said so to the younger girl. Some things still remained the same no matter how much time passed.

"I understand." Tanzanite, was it? A wildcard? Youma arm? Well, it wasn't surprising considering what negaverse members he had seen so far. It was getting easier and easier to accept these strange happenings. He couldn't ever recall meeting her, but he would keep that description in mind. The negaverse was a colorful group. It was a wonder how they got along. Except that they really didn't get along. One had to wonder on the basis of which they recruited officers.

"..Right." Seth watched as she finished her unrealistic pile of ice cream, choosing not to think too deeply about that. Otherwise, he was sure that he wouldn't be able to eat. His appetite still hadn't fully recovered, his cofee laid there half-drunk. His motorbike wasn't parked too far from here, and he had an extra helmet. "Let me give you a ride home. It's still too late for you to walk home by yourself." No, he wasn't as morally bankrupt as to let Serah go home by herself. Regardless of whether they were negaverse or not.
